I had almost given up on a perfect fit in an everyday-standard, beige padded balcony-type bra. I've tried at least 6 including EM S cut and resigned myself to 3-part half cups. Hallelujah, this one is IT thanks to wild_muses !!! Me: close set, narrow & short roots, even top to bottom but functionally FOB due to soft tissue, side fullness, ridiculous immediate projection needed. If I get the support I need at the wire and sides the girls become more FOT; if not they just sag into whatever is available or squish sadly flat. I like a lifted & centered rounded shape (between green ... & purple?). The Nicol fills the bill: narrow wires, deep at the bottom with less at the apex, perfect gore height and width, good control at the sides including boning. The cups are a construction I have not seen before: 4 part, with the two vertical seams coming in at a sharp angle, right to left. (That may help with pulling the side fullness in?) . The top section does have a solid top seam and comes in at an angle which could impact tall roots but helps to give me the shape I like. The band is firm but not too; its a good 'hug' and while not stretchy, it is generous for a 70/32. The wires stay in my imf with 12-15 hours wear and zero adjustments; I do not even feel this bra on. Soft cotton inside, smooth matte outside with seaming that is undetectable under knits. The padding is medium thickness similar to Comexim and less than EM or Cleo. Great for work since I have really prominent nipples! The cups are not too tall and there is no gaping at the strap or at the gore once I scoop & swoop. (Note if I do not s&s the girls do not fill out the top fully; there is extra room up there!). The gore touches at the top with a gentle curve down and is relatively narrow at the bottom (do wish we had a measurement for that, as it makes a big difference!). The padded wire channels have 1/2" of leeway which helped me clear my close set tissue by moving the wires to the outside. I have wide shoulders so the straps are perfectly positioned, but they might not work for narrower shoulders as they are far to the sides. The straps have soft fleecy insides, are fully adjustable, and are just stretchy enough to be comfortable while supporting. The overall construction is good, not luxury, but well-made with fleece in all the right areas. There are no frou-frous except a classy diamond dangle: this is a functional bra not trying to be sexy. The only con is that the label size and the tag size do not agree. Sewn in label says 70G/32G while the attached paper tag says 70G/32F. So I can't tell if Nicol is tts, but I can say it is most definitely NOT a 32F! Maybe a 32FF or a small 32G...Impimi seems to be working the bugs out, and I understand their customer service is very helpful to determine correct size. I know others have not been happy with the brand, but I'm a fan and may be buying Nicol in every color soon!

TGIF (thank god it fits!) I think i might order another one of these, in the realm of a 30F, once i get some christmas money.

Wow, Impimi Nicol sounds like a wonderful fit for you! Thank you for the detailed, technical review. Congratulations on finding a bra that meets your very specific fit requirements!

    • 1

Oh man, this sounds like it might work for me, except the wide straps....

    • 1

Dvrgrl812 I wonder if you could ask them to change the straps? I know they make custom sizes so they may be willing to do some alterations

    • Great news!!!

The design of this bra is really nice. The fabric is very soft and it feels overall high quality. I really appreciate seeing a 4-section cup, 3x4 hook band, and wide straps in this size. It has fairly narrow wires and a fairly narrow gore, they've obviously thought a lot about the design and how it will work on full busts.

However. The sizing runs crazy large. The band stretches to 34 and the cups were at least 2 sizes too large on me. If you're in the 34FF range, look at my listing. It's a great quality everyday bra and I'm sure it will serve someone well, just not me in this size.

    • Looks like there is lots of space for center projection. Fantastic :-)

    • 1

There is! When I tried it on most of the extra room was toward the center.

    • What fit characteristics caused you to suggest it was 2 sizes too large? The center projection beckons me ;-)

    • 1

The depth and height of the cup were too much for me, I could have fit at least another half a boob in it.

    • Well, then me, too. ;-) Thank you!

    • Beautiful bra! Too bad it doesn't work for you!

wild_muses Love4Pollinators when I emailed Impimi and told them my measurements and what size I usually take in Comexim and Ewa (70HH/J and 70G/GG respectively), they suggested a 65H Adell. Which would completely fit your experience, but I had assumed was some kind of typo. ("Surely they mean a 70H?" I thought to myself.)

    • 1

Interesting... i considered exchanging for a 65E but there's a review for one of those here and its measurements seem true to size. I'm not sure what to do.

    • I'm usually a 30GG with an extender (between band sizes) and the 65J in Unpadded fit really well except that it is built for more FoT or high roots. It gapes when I move but sits nicely when I stand up straight. I'm wondering if, going by the measurements, Impimi makes their padded and unpadded with the same depth, where Ewa, for example, recommends sizing down when yiu go unpadded. That might explain the cup size, but yeah, the band size is a bit on the larger size. Maybe just size down a band for the whole brand?

    • 1

My cups were too big for me too, but only by about 1 cup size. The band I got was true to size.

    • Oh boy... I emailed them my regular sizes in Ewa Michalak and Comexim (50F/55E and 50HH), and they recommended I try a 55F. Not sure how I feel now.

This review is for the Brown colorway. Please see my review of the beige Impimi Nicol for the deeper dive. However! the brown has slightly smaller cups. Its smaller enough that my larger girl quads toward the middle and the overall profile is minimized/flattened compared to both the beige and the white Nicol. Maybe half a cup to a full cup difference? Maybe just due to the tendancy that darker bras are smaller, which I forgot when ordering. The label says 32F and while the lighter ones are cut large and fit my 32FF perfectly, the brown may actually be more TTS! It is a deep, dark chocolate brown; think bittersweet chocolate, almost black.

That is a surprising amount of dimensional variation. Thank you for sharing it with us!

See my review for the beige colorway - the white one is identical (except its white) (for now anyway, I am going to either paint it or dye it https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" />)
