Flexible short U wires, antique champagne tone, soft delicate fabrics and straps, reminds me a bit of Natori. If Natori could get their act together and produce a decently projected bra style. Cups are decently deep in the center, but fit tight at their wire. Like this bra predicts that someone wearing will require a smaller wire and tighter fit, but then does the opposite thing and uses a larger wire. So the first 1/4" to 1/3" of the cup is literally flat all around.
Boo. I bought a size too small so hopefully this will work for the smaller week of the month. Maybe that will keep me from wearing it out this season.
Beautiful bra with lace and bow details...I'm very sad that this one doesn't fit! Too projected for me...I don't have enough upper fullness and there's lots of wrinkling at the top of the cup. The band is a little tight too.
SOOO pretty! I wish this worked as a strapless for me... This bra definitely fits me with the straps on... except the wires are too wide. BUT when I take off the straps I can't fill the cups at all. UHG! I just want a strapless bra that works for me... This would be good for someone with more self-supporting boobs than I have or maybe someone more 3/5 or 3/6 shape-wise.
Such a comfortable silk bra! The silk goes into the cup and it's so smooth! Actually not a bad fit at all. Wrinkles at the top of the cup, nothing new there. When I got it I didn't think the cup would come up so high and didn't think that would be a problem, but the tops of the cup definitely have more projection than I do. The gore is a little high as well. I might bend it if it becomes a problem in the future. The bottoms seem deep enough though. The band is a little too big, I have to start it off on the middle hook. I'm not too worried since I'm not planning on wearing this as an every day bra. Don't think it'll stretch too much. I think I would have gotten this in a 28DD if it was available.
I love the look of this bra, I think it's absolutely gorgeous and wish it was made in more of a balconette style, as this style is pretty bad on me.
The band seems true to size, the cups maybe a little on the big side for a 30F. The lace on top is forgiving and doesn't cut into me like I expected it to, seeing as I am full on top. The cups are unpadded and supportive, my only complaint is that te half adjustable straps don't go short enough for my small shoulders.
I bought this bra in late 2008 or early 2009. The band isn't a good fit for me as I'm more like a 28DD/E in John Lewis bras, but the cups fit very well and the jersey fabric (90% cotton) is very soft and comfortable. The way the cups are seamed means this bra doesn't bring my breasts inwards very much, and I prefer the look of the John Lewis Celia, which has a different cup style. Overall, though, I'd buy another of these in my size if they were still being made.
**NB: I measured this bra after a lot of wear, so the listed measurements may not reflect how it fits when brand new.**
The soft jersey fabric makes it a very comfortable bra, providing it fits you. The band is just too loose for me and the cups are a little roomy, though I've lost some weight since buying it (summer 2010) so this may not be the fault of the bra. In spring 2011 I tried on a brand new one in 28DD, and the cups fit better but the band was still too loose.
The embroidery on the band has the unfortunate effect of weakening the fabric - after a while, small holes developed around some of the embroidered details.
Note: this is not the Freya Celia, it is a John Lewis own-brand bra of the same name.
I'm wearing this bra for the first time, and it's pretty comfortable so far. The band is snug but not too tight, and the cups run true to size, so if you're between a DD and an E I'd recommend getting the E. The cups give good uplift and shape without doing anything extreme. The underwires are perfectly comfortable. There is no scratchy lace anywhere on the bra, and no padding. It's a pretty but not overly elaborate style in pale blue (though on the website it looks almost white). The biggest drawback is probably the narrow size range - it only comes in a 28-36 DD to F (UK sizes).
