**So, I've got a huge update for everyone. Turns out this is too big for me by about 2 cups, possibly three! I discovered this while at work today when the bottom of that elastic band kept rolling up under the wires and then sticking between my ribs. 10/10 would NOT recommend doing this to yourself ever.
This rolling caused my cups to collapse and get pinched under the wires as well, all while my band stayed in my IMF zone. Very, very painful. I've never worn or owned a sports bra that was wired OR padded, so I misunderstood how to gauge the fit. I stand by ... the quality and materials and such, so I'm definitely going to give this a try in a smaller size, possibly the 65KK.**
Kris Line's new athletic line popped up on Zulily a couple of weeks ago, and I figured "What the heck?" and took the plunge. After reading reviews about how small the cup ran via Brastop, I opted to try the 65M, a cup size up from what MagdaBras4you and I were guesstimating I would wear in their soft cup size. I am not disappointed.
I was super nervous when I took it out of the box, guys. Seriously. I haven't had a properly fitting sports bra probably ever, and my heart was pounding! I got even more nervous because it felt pretty heavy? It was weird. The material was so soft though. It looked HUGE too!
It took me a little bit of time to measure it and such, and then on it went! I'll be honest, there might have been some tears. Never have I ever felt secure in a sports bra before that moment. The shape was pretty fantastic, not that I would have been terribly bothered either way. The support and lift this bra provides is pretty astounding. The straps are thick, which I think will help with them not digging in as I workout. The jump test passed with flying colors. While there was some jiggle, my tissue stayed quite secure. I'm sure I was smiling like an idiot the entire time I attempted this feat.
I do have some qualms with the bra, no matter how much I'm raving about it:
-The straps are difficult to adjust. I don't know if this was a sewing issue or whatnot, but mine look like they're almost twisted under the adjuster. I tried to adjust the fabric so it laid flat, but I think the width of the material is too wide for the adjuster. Not sure, will update if I manage to fix it.
-Because the straps are difficult to adjust, the J-Hook is kind of sitting awkward on me. I'm not sure if I like where it is placed. It might make some exercises difficult because the hook might dig. Think sit-ups/crunches.
-When the j-hook is connected, the armpit curve sits quite high. I anticipate rubbing. I'm hoping since the material is soft, it's not going to be awful.
Overall, while I haven't actually done a full workout or anything in it, I anticipate good results. I'm hoping it's going to be as fantastic as I'm imagining in my head. Haha.
I want to put a sidenote: while I have the gore measured at 5", that's actually where the underwires end. There's a mesh material that's sewn to the tops of the cups that I believe is intended to help with airflow, if you catch my drift haha. This mesh part goes up another 3", so the gore is actually 8" total.
Ooh, also, I'm wearing this bra on the third hookset.
