This is an excellent option for taller people. These delightfully adjustable straps don't adjust short enough for my short-waisted, petite frame. Consequently, the support in this 32F is less than a similar Shock Absorber 4490. I can wear my Shock Absorber 4490 without the band fastened and still receive excellent support. I would have no support in La Isla A199 without the band fastened. Please note, this La Isla looks identical to Shock Absorber's Ultimate Run Bra. I surmise the Ultimate Run Bra, like La Isla A199, is better for taller people.
Nevertheless, this bra has some admirable characteristics: 1. Padded straps 2. Seam free internal lining 3. Straps adjust +/- 3" 4. Comfortably stretchy band
If you are high-set and/or petite, this is not the best choice for you. But, low-set and/or tall users may be thrilled with the strap length.
La Isla and Syrokan make many knockoff version of sports bras for much cheaper. This bra looks the Shock Absorber's Ultimate Run Bra but I have never tried that bra so I don't know how similar in quality they are. This bra is true to size. I wish it came in a 30F because the band feels slightly too lose for me. The cups aren't padded but are made of 2 layer of thick material that don't show any thing. The cups start getting deeper about 2 cm above the band so it folds over. The fabric feels very smooth and silky and drys quickly. The shoulder straps sometimes come detached, usually its when I'm driving home so not a big deal. I wear the bra for cycling and the support is great. The racerback straps do not sit right on my shoulder blades and feel uncomfortable. I've tried it without the clip and the straps kept on detaching. Its good for exercising and then I cannot wait to take it off because of the straps. I love color.
This is another sports bra I thought I'd try considering the very favorable sub-$20 USD price point. The idea of this bra is better than the reality of it. La Isla produces limited cup ranges and this 34E is, as I sort of expected, much too small cup wise. Band wise it fits on the closest hook, but it's not snug enough for a sports bra. The strap length is adequate - I have bras with barely enough length, while I have plenty of room to adjust with this one. The material on the inside of the bra is cotton-like and soft. ...The drawbacks are that this brand seems to produce stupidly small cups (I know, I know... "minimizer" is a clue!) but not enough of a range to size up. My tissue is super soft and totally quads out of this bra. I can't speak well to the support because the band is too big, but the material has a good stretchy-stiff quality to it that might work. For someone with short root height this might be a winner, but for me it's a non-starter. Read more 87 more words
I am really eager to find a good sports bra that provides each breast its own cup - a true encapsulation bra. I don't care for a floating gore because my tissue is so soft and malleable that I get a uniboob effect, and standard one-compartment sports bras just make my breasts look terrible, like a giant rectangular blob of sad smashed boob. I had high hopes for this La Isla model, am impressed by how narrow and projected the cups are for a sports bra, and the bounce control is pretty good in this Level 3 model (La Isla also makes a higher-control Level 4 ...bra). Sadly the cups run so small that even my proper size gives me oozing quad boob. I would happily go up a cup or two or three but La Isla doesn't produce larger cups than what I already tried. Such a shame. If you are looking for an affordable encapsulation sports bra (this was $20 USD) with narrow cups and plenty of projection, but take a smaller cup than I do you might really enjoy this sports bra.
As a footnote, the packaging for this sport bra included an insert stating that La Isla is rebranding: We're changing LA ISLA into new brands for better service. Unlike the wired sports bra, I would not recommend going down a cup in this. I'm technically sized out, but since the band runs so small I think the 34F might work better for me. If you're inbetween sizes, choose the larger band. This one runs almost a whole size small, I could barely fasten it.
I'm not sure I like the sort of stylized racerback. The straps come very close to my neck and seem like they may rub on it; I wish that I could put them in a normal position. I'm more often a 32FF and the bust area does feel too small and I feel like the side of the band is cutting in, so I'd say this one runs more true to size in the bust.
This one is a compression style and still controls bounce very well in my jump test. However, I would recommend the wired version over this one any day. Unless you have an aversion to wire or you're looking to bind/minimize your chest, choose the wired one instead.
This is a great bra! It encapsulates the breasts instead of squashing them. The straps are semi adjustable with a j-hook. The band closes with a standard 2 hook hook closure, which is great! Gone are the days of wrestling a sweaty sports bra off over your head! The cups are pretty high, so my breasts don't feel like they're going to fall out when I bend over or do inversions. The band is very snug, I recommend sister sizing up.
This model is La Isla's @Delimira Women's Full Coverage Underwire Non-padded Embroidered Minimizer Bra. It's not comfortable because there seems to be too much cup for me.
This bra has silicone grippy loops on the top and bottom of the band to keep it up. The band in the back is very wide and causes me fat bulges. I only wear this when I absolutely need a strapless bra because of the band creating bulges. The cups fit nice and the padding is different then any other bra I own. The inside cups have hand shaped molded foam to create a push up effect. The measurement makes me put a strap width, but there are no straps. I honestly can not tell if this has underwires? It feels like a metal flexie band, much like a ruler or something.
This bra fits just like the Panache wired sports bra. The wire gore with is a little too wide and hurts after a while of wearing it. Otherwise super supportive and looks good underneath workout shirts.
Ok, this bra is not pretty. It's as plain as they come. Like most minimizers I've seen, you get a pleasant shape when viewed from the side. In front? Wider-than-your-shoulders boobs. But it's super comfortable. I mean SUPER comfortable. I't's lightweight, the wires are flexible, decent support. The sizing is kind of puzzling and not very generous: this is a 34 (I'm most often 32FF/G) and the cup is "UK/US F" and "EU/FR G" (what the...???). Since it's the largest cup they offer, I went for the 34 and the band is ok, but the cup is a little small. Still - it's so comfy (and cheap to boot) and it doesn't look bad under clothes, so it will stay with me, as one of my "at home" bras.
I have a little trouble telling how well this bra fits, because the encapsulation is so good that I have trouble peeking in to see how the girls are doing in there. It feels good, anyhow. I haven't actually gone running yet in this bra -- I bought it in a fit of maybe excessive optimism -- so I'll have to update my notes for you when I've given it a proper try.
So, this bra is quite obviously a direct ripoff of the Panache sports bra, even down to the logo. I've never had a Panache sports bra, but this seems pretty quality. I normally wouldn't support buying a ripoff, and I do feel guilty about it, but I'm super broke and need some boob control so I can exercise!
The band on both of the La Isla sports bras I bought run QUITE tight, under 31 in. I think it will work for me although it will be a bit tight for a while. If you're between sizes, definitely choose the larger band.
I had heard to size down the ...cup in a sports bra if you have short roots because they're generally quite tall. This worked quite well for me in this instance. My boobs don't feel squished, but they do feel encapsulated and held in. I jumped pretty hard and they didn't move much.
Between this one and the non-wired La Isla sports bra, I would recommend this one much more. It's much more comfortable. Exercising in it felt great, it held me in but was totally comfy and didn't chafe anywhere. Read more 85 more words
This bra is amazing! It's just like my Panache sport bra, but only cost $20 instead of $80. The band is nice and firm. The wires actual work for my very close set breast. I fill the cup just fine with my wide and shallow conical breasts. The cups are molded and lightly padded.
I ordered this bra online because I needed a strapless bra with optional straps. The band fits well, but my nipples poke out from the top of the cups. I keep having to push my boobs back into the bra. I wouldn't wear this everyday, but it holds everything up well so the only issue I have is boob spillage. Although that could be because of my large areolas :/
I almost bought this one last night, but chickend out and went with Panache Sports which was actually recommended to me.
