This is a super comfortable bra and looks great under thin tops. The wires have slight padding around them, which makes this bra extra comfy. The band is VERY stretchy, so if they made a 30 band I would much prefer that. Since they don't and this is the one bra I've found that looks amazing under thin, white tees, I will continue wearing this until the band gets too loose.
The only issue I have had with the quality of this bra is that the fabric by the underarm area is getting a bit of pilling. Nothing that effects the fits.
There wasn't much info for this one on either Bratabase or Amazon reviews, so I figured I'd try it...
Spacer cup fabric: very comfortable with just the right amount of 'give'. Very soft fabric. Did a surprisingly good job at minimizing nipples. Gave a nice shape: rounded and lifted, but a little east/west in separation. VERY tall, full coverage cups. Wires: Long. Sat too far back and up high in my armpit. Gore: at 2.5" tall is low enough to stay out of the way. Tacked nicely. Band: very tall. Double layer mesh with a band of lace at the bottom. Feels true to size. Not a lot of stretch. Straps: 7/8" wide around the top of the shoulders, taper to partially adjustable 5/8" wide in the back. Very little stretch. Sat too far apart for my comfort. Added to the tightness under & around my arms.
Bottom line: Good for very FoT, wide shoulders. Personally, not a good match.
Oh, what an odd duck this one is!!! First of all I have to say the concept of a multi-combination bra is intriguing. To have a bralette, strapless, and regular bra all-in-one is a fantastic idea.
A brief summary: The strapless: Shallow & wide plunge cups, silicone on the tall band, three hooks. Beige, lightly padded closed cups. Very little stretch in the single-layer mesh band (an extender was required to get it on.) The white straps are shared between the bralette and strapless. Provides a nice rounded profile, a minimized appearance rather than projected. The bralette: White stretch lace triangle-shaped plunge cups with darts from the wire, and seams ...from the dart to the outer edge (front of armpit). The front straps attach close to the shoulders. When the bralette is combined with the strapless, the back band hooks onto the strapless at the seam line of the strapless' hooks. When wearing the bralette alone, it attaches the single/gated hook with an adjustable extender, included with the bra.
Now the nitty gritty: Design execution needs the bugs worked out. #1: In order to attach the two bras together, there are small (1cm) magnets at the gore and under the arms at the top of the wires. They are bulky and useless!!! If they wanted to use magnets, they should have used rare earth magnets...so much stronger and smaller. #2: It's not clear where to hook the back straps when wearing both bras together. They could fit on either bra. (The photo on Amazon showed the bralette/strapless combo incorrectly hooked.) #3: The straps are extremely difficult to adjust. The straps are too wide for the size of the slide buckle. #4: All loops (on both bras) where the straps attach are too large and the straps slip out easily. #5: The under wires are very bulky when wearing the combination together. The bralette (whose wires are slightly narrower the strapless) sits on top of the strapless. Ideally, I think the layers are intended to nestle together, but...they don't.
Le Mystere, I hope you're reading this!
For me personally - #1: The band is too short. #2: The cups are much too wide. Shallow too. #3: The cups of both bras cut into my underarms.
The cups seem like they were designed with a much wider woman in mind. they are wider on the outer side of the cup,. They makes me feel like my boobs are wider than my ribcage. While at the same time my only cleavage is from my breasts over-spilling the cups.
This was purchased at a local boutique before I discovered Bratabase & r/ABTF. I was told to wear my bras on the middle or tightest hook. It has been hanging in my closet as I have accumulated more supportive & better-fitting bras in 28FF (60HH/J - Comexim).
I have never worn this bra - except to try it on. I’m waiting for my niece to fit into it.
This is the 1st bra where the gore doesn't sit flush against my sternum. The one positive thing I can say is it does smooth side/back tissue. However, the wing height is TALL. I have rarely had a bra showing on the side view of the tank top I’m wearing in my photo.
I’ll hand-wash and air-dry it then come back to measure it.
This is my most comfortable bra. But not a perfect fit. With the addition of a strap extender, I was able to wear it all day without significant back or shoulder pain. The extender adds about 1/4”. I’ve only worn it for a full day one time, so my review may change as I wear it more.
LeMystere, you've done your homework on this one! You've restored my faith that it's possible to have cups that are both Projected AND Seamless!!! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />)) Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised by this one!
* Narrow-ish wires (5.8" wide) with projected seamless cups (10.75" deep). YAY!!! * Thin, adaptable 3-way stretch spacer-foam cups: provide a natural rounded shape, with just a bit of minimizer appearance (aka good support, but not a lot of lift). The spacer cups are thin enough to see light through them, but opaque when wearing. A great bra for hot summer days. "Headlights" WILL be noticable, if that's ...an issue for you...although less likely to be a problem in the summer anyway. It's also a great bra for traveling; the cups don't wrinkle! * Even though the height of the cups (8") would normally be too tall for me, there's no quadding or gaping. YAY! * The inner mesh sling has the same 3-way stretch as the cups, so there's no funny looking bulges where the mesh ends. * The U-shaped wires are quite firm and definitely provide most of the support. I admit they're a little bit long, but they tuck into my IMF right where they belong, so they're actually quite comfortable. * The 1.25" gore is a bit wide on me, but it sits low enough to stay out of the way. Cup depth at the gore is better than most that are this width, and for me is "acceptable". None-the-less, I wish the gore was narrower and had more center depth. (It definitely Won't be a great fit if you need a LOT of center fullness.) * The tall band is very comfortable, with double layer microfiber, encased elastic with a ballet back. Its' Rose Gold hardware is a pretty complement to the "Shell" color, which almost looks translucent, but it's not. (Very pale peach/very pale apricot; almost like a pale beige with a hint of pink). * The fully adjustable (but not convertible) center-pull straps are 5/8" wide, with flocking next to the skin. They don't slide down my sloping shoulders; and no rubbing into my armpits. YAY!
For reference, I'm somewhat FoT (but functionally FoB because of settling & age), very close-set, projected, average width with short-ish roots, and a short torso with wide Lats and sloping shoulders. If this sounds like you, I think you'll love this one! I'll be buying more, for sure! Read more 296 more words
Yet another bra with no information on Bratabase. So here you go!
In a nutshell, soft and very comfortable... with shallow cups. * Microfiber inside and out. Tall double-sided band, no exposed elastic. Narrow 3x3 hooks & eyes are set into a smooth, bonded strip. *The back band is a very unique feature: it has vertical bands that rise up to meet the straps, so it looks like a squared-off ballet back. * Wires are long. Not necessarily tall under the arms, but they sit a full inch below my IMF, onto my ribs. Therefore, I don't fill the bottom of the cups. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> * Cups are, I guess what you'd call 'lightly lined'; enough for coverage but certainly not enough to add volume. Much better suited for FoB. * Gore is low. Tacks but stays out of the way. * Straps are fully adjustable restricted stretch. * Rose gold hardware. Very pretty against the soft pink fabric.
In a nutshell, this bra would be best suited for someone who doesn't need a lot of projection at the wire. Because this bra doesn't have it!
* Construction-wise, this is a beautiful bra. * The lace cups won't show whatsoever even under the thinnest of T-Shirts. Thin padding: ever so slightly thicker at the wire/thinner at the decollotage. * The same lace is used on the band, which is lined with stretch microfiber. * The outside wire channel is wrapped in satin; a pretty detail. * Flocked elastic on the band is soft and comfortable. Not scratchy at all. There is no boning under the arms. * Bonded panel for the hooks & eyes is 1.75" tall. Narrow 3x3 hooks are rose gold hardware. * Restricted stretch, fully adjustable straps with a subtle satin stripe, keeps them from being boring.
Brand new, this fit like a 30" band; I had to start off with an extender. Eventually it was able to stretch up to 32", but it distorted the wires somewhat. It measures 31.5" while I'm wearing it. Padded restricted stretch straps are only partially adjustable; short and feel very tight; don't stretch much. They are also wide-set. Cups: good cleavage bra; lots of lift, fair projection and I don't fall out. The same shape of the top band across the cups which prevents me from falling out also cuts in & flattens out my center fullness, creating a bit of quadding above the gore. Thankfully, it doesn't show under ...a shirt. Seamed cups are faintly visible under a T-shirt. If I could lengthen the straps just a little and round out the center of the cups then the quadding would go away. Capri Floral colorway: pretty shades of pastel blue and lavender on a solid gray background.
Edit: after all this time, I've finally had a 'ta-da' moment that this bra became a diagnostic for me. I came to the realization that this bra (and others like it) is better suited for someone with a straight torso. It's not that the band is too tight (because it's not) but that it does not accommodate a wide V shaped back (aka Lats) very well. Meaning, the top of the band is the same circumference as the bottom, resulting in compression of the Lats/back fat.
Second edit: why does Bratabase still list this as "It Fits!" when I've marked that the straps are too short? Read more 152 more words
Great construction: no exposed elastic; double layer band; fully adjustable, restricted stretch straps; 3x3 hooks are embedded in a compressed panel. Great fabrics: "Cool Touch" microfiber. Soft contour cups: very slightly lined, no padding. Wears like a spacer fabric (Nips may show a bit), but more supportive. Long "U" shaped wires. However the gore is tall and buckles between my close-set shape; pulls away from my sternum, forms itself into a "^", doesn't sit flat at all. The outer wires were well under my armpits until I loosened the straps as far as possible. Then the bra was able to settle lower on my torso and no longer uncomfortable under the arms. Wings are tall, but not uncomfortable (once straps were adjusted properly). Straps are wide-set; causes friction at the armpits and the cups to buckle once I start to move around. No quadding or empty space around the wire at all.
Bottom line for me: IF ONLY the gore was set shorter/the wires a little shorter, AND the straps were not so wide-set...
Consistent with the "Capri Floral" I have, this one's band starts out very tight and accentuates back fat. I use an extender making the band one set of hooks larger, and then the back fat is less of an issue. (The 34" band is too big and is still a problem in the back.) Eventually the band relaxes and I stop using the extender. The straps are also tight, but that's more because they're short and have restricted stretch to them, plus the fact they're only partially adjustable. Cups are thinly padded overall which I find is kind of warm for Summer. To me, the Safari ...is better suited for cooler temperatures. (Despite many other bras may have a similar type of padded lining, they seem to breathe better than this does.) The seam in mid-cup does show under a thin shirt, but still a lot less noticeable than a bra covered in lace. The shape of the cups is kind of unusual... Nicely rounded from the side profile, but it rather flattens above the seam (in the area of the Safari pattern), which makes a modified pointed profile at any angle other than a 90° sideways view. On my larger side only, I get a bit of buckling in the bottom of the cup, above the wire (where I guess I could use a little more projection). I'm not spilling into the middle, so I don't mind. The gore is nice and low...stays out of the way.
Edit: As several months have now gone by, I use these in rotation with all my other bras (I also have a few colors of this style now), I have found now that the bras are 'broken in', the cups have relaxed quite a bit and every one of my Safari's cups buckle, just above the wires. I think my first instinct of it not having enough depth was correct, but it doesn't show under clothing and it's still generally comfortable. However, I do wish the straps were longer, which is a completely different issue. Read more 238 more words
No info out there that I could find for this new "Modern Unlined" from Le Mystere...
Bandless front. Wires are tall on both ends. Even though the total height of the gore is slightly less than 2", because the gore is placed very high on the center wires, the gore refused to sit flat on my close-set shape (1cm, at best!) Tall wings. No boning in the band. Band felt true to size. Very comfortable, except for the tall wires. Stretch satin inside cups. Fine stretch knit fishnet-like lace on the outside. Good support. Perfect rounded shape. Despite no padding, erect nipples wasn't a problem. Fully adjustable straps, flocked on the inside. ...Comfortable. Front straps are set closer together, much closer to above the apex. Narrow set of 3 x 3 hooks in the back. The panel that the hooks are set into is thinner than most and very comfortable.
Bottom line: if only the wires were about 1.25"shorter overall (1" at gore, .25" at underarm) whereby the gore would be set lower onto the frame and not cut into my underarms, this would surely be my go-to bra! So close and yet so far!!! Read more 80 more words
New to Amazon as of March 2018, there was barely any information about this bra: •Super comfortable construction. •Very stretchy band. I would easily be able to wear a 30" in this style (if not for other fit issues, of course). Microfiber underlayer, stretch mesh overlayer (same as on cups). •Hooks and eyes are narrow and compact. Nonirritating, although a little tricky to hook. •Wide shallow-sloping wires. Low gore. •Cups: thinly lined with stretch mesh overlayer, which form a plunge V-shaped scoop neck front. •Straps: padded at the top, attached to the mesh overlay in the front. Rear straps partially adjustable, 5/8" wide. Strap buckles ...are difficult to slide.
How it fits me: (soft, cystic, & projected. Functionally FoB, narrow/no more than average width root.) •Straps feel like they want to fall off, but somehow they don't. •Underwires are pushed down onto my ribs by a full 3/4". •Cups spread my breasts east/west. Lots of 'puffiness' under the arms, (but not the back). Clearly not enough depth at the wires. •The mesh scoop neck overlayer tries to control the quadding on my center fullness. •Overall effect is squishing the center flat while simultaneously spreading everything out to the under arms. I had tried this first in a 32F but it wasn't right. However, the differences between the two sizes is significant. The cups on the 32G are proportionately more shallow, much wider and taller than on the 32F. It does have 3 x 3 hooks instead of 2 x 3, and the straps are also wider. The band felt truer to Le Mystere's typical sizing, but maybe that was only because the cups were 'closer' to my correct size. Basically just the wrong shape for me. So sad! I do love the concept of the optional lace panel which can be worn either in the front as a cami or in the back as a racerback.
Everything about this strapless bra is BIG! Size-wise, it's not that it's way too big on me, like I'd probably need a 32F instead, but the proportions of this bra look incredibly silly on my short torso frame, and the shape is just completely wrong for me. The cups are tall and very high-set. The gore is very tall. The wires are very long... and tall. The wings are very tall. On the upside, it does seem to be very well made and would be comfortable on the right person.
Wow, I totally didn't expect this one to be so shallow. The wires sat a full inch below my IMF on my ribs and the cups quadded significantly. The cups are crazy wide, as well as the straps so there was all sorts of buckling going on near & under the armpits.
As for quality, it's top-notch: Self-lined band with wonderfully soft materials. Beautiful lace in the back with a mesh lining for extra support. Soft, flexible cups. Wires, too! Minimal lining and a smooth cup edge. Straps that won't slip. Has the J-hook for turning it into a racerback, (but I did find it was too tight when hooked, even with the straps fully extended).
Completely the wrong shape for me: Very tall, wide wires cut into my armpits; Tall, closed cups cut in severely causing major quadding, especially near the arms; The gore is tall and doesn't sit flat; The front straps are set extremely far apart. On the plus side, the fabrics feel very soft and on the right person would be quite comfortable; the wings are very tall, so there is no unsightly back or underarm bulge. There is boning under the arms as well as in the back. The band has a firm stretch to it; felt true to size. The cups have tapered padding to ...give some lift. At the bottom wires, the padding is approximately .5" thick and tapers to virtually nothing at the top. (Because the top quadded so severely I expected the wires would get pushed out of my IMF, but that was not the case.) There is silicone along both top and bottom edges of the band and the top of the cups. (It feels very secure, like it would easily stay put.) If I had to guess, I would say this would fit someone FoB with short roots, and possibly low-set. Whereas, I am "functionally FoB" with taller roots than what this strapless requires. You just saved me money. Thanks for the review! I hope Le Mystere works the bugs out. I would love a bra I can wear ten different ways.
