My dh is from a country where I'm almost positive they don't actually sell one pieces so he's a little horrified if I wear one all the time. I'm horrified to wear a bikini most places in public .... So we compromise. I got this for the rare occasion I'm willing to go out in one. I'm pretty happy with it. The wires are narrow and the band is firm. The bottoms give moderate coverage. My hips measure 38" and I bought UK 12/ Euro 40. I often wear size 6 or 29 (US) in jeans if that helps at all. ... The top is built just like a bra except it's got the swimsuit latch instead of eye hooks. The fake tie is on crooked but that's an easy fix. I think the pattern camoflauges underwires and tones down the bra esthetic. I wouldn't have paid full price but I got the set at pretty steep discount so I'm pretty sure I'll keep it. I'll have to wear it around my room a bit more to decide for sure first. Read more 86 more words
Thanks. I was self conscious even before I had these kids who left their marks. Of course now I think why did I worry so much before when I was 20 haha
haha i remember being excited to show a bf my new suit that I thought was really flattering - it had a built in bra that worked for me, and it was a tankini . . . . he was completely disappointed and clearly did NOT find it attractive
But its adorable and so are you!
dbmamaz , I'm guessing he felt like it had too much fabric no?
lol yes, i think so. But post-baby bellies are really nothing to look at.
We dated for a month or two before I called it quits. He was just weird. He seemed to want a woman to look good on his arm at fancy restaurants and on expensive vacations, except he was kinda broke.
and thats not at all what I want from a relationship
and he was not honest. and he had awful breath
gee, i'm glad i'm happily married, dating . . . oy
He sounds like a treat
come on, i'm sure we all have some awful dating stories. at least any of us over 20?
Yes!
Oh, so hubby is from my neighbourhood then. :) Love this bikini on you.
It's the second time I tried a t-shirt/plunge bra since I have registered to bratabase.
I got this bra from Amazon for only 10.99 Euro. The quality is very good, but it seems like a shape mismatch to my projected boobs. The wires are too long and poke into my armpits. And there is still space on the top. Will return it back.
Edit: I think the shapes of Lepel is very similar to the shapes of Change Lingerie. Both of them have long wires and shallow cups, no matter if it is a balcony bra or a plunge bra. I also had the same issues when I was trying a plunge bra in Change store. But the cups of Lepel are a little more separated according to the measurements.
So today I got my first ever bra that actually fits, and I am ridiculously happy about that. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt=":D" /> My evaluation of it is as follows -
This style is great for close-set, FOB boobs (FOT probably won't work so well), and it has moderate lift with quite a bit of projection. I really like that it doesn't make me look huge from the front, which is a problem I've had in the past due to trying to wear bras for shallower boobs. The support is great, which is something that really matters to me as I can't ...stand bouncing.
The cups are unlined, very soft, stretchy lace. I had thought that they might be itchy (I've never been big on lace), but they aren't, at all. The lace is also smooth enough that it looks fine under medium-weight t-shirts (probably won't wear it with anything tissue-weight, but fortunately I don't own many of those anyway). The stretchyness of the cups is going to be a really good thing for me because my boobs swell and shrink quite a bit with my menstrual cycle; I'm a little concerned that it might wear out faster because of that, but it'd be an acceptable trade-off for me, honestly.
The one comfort issue is that the bottom edge of the band could stand to be quite a bit smoother; my boobs are pretty heavy and make the front edge dig into my skin a bit (the band is definitely the right size for me, though; anything bigger rides up like woah).
All in all, great first experience with actually measuring myself and using bratabase! Read more 177 more words
I think this looks lovely on. I've had this bra on my want to know more want to try list for awhile
Lovely! This one is going on my wishlist for sure.
I'm really surprised it has so narrow wires so thank you for this :-)
Would you also measure the cup height? Please :-) Thank you :-)
DressTheTwins - The cups are 6 inches from bottom of the underwire to the base of the strap if you go straight across, and 7 inches following the curvature. :)
Do you find the embroidery to really stick out under shirts?
revisa - way less than I expected. I added a few shirt pics so you can see, with different fabric weights and snugness.
I love the shape and fit of the cups on this bra. However, it's just too tight in the band. I can stand it for about the first hour, and then it starts to dig in painfully.
I got this bra in a swap and I think it's very pretty, reminds me a lot of the old Elle Macpherson bra called Cloud Swing in that it has a large allover lace pattern with a very utilitarian stretchy ribbon band in another colour. I wanted to love this bra but it's a thoroughly mediocre fit for me. Before I received it sounded like it would be wide and shallow (which it is) with a tight band - the band to me is very true to most 30s which was a relief as it's not too tight after all. The thing that makes the fit for ...me a little odd is that the bra is reasonably open on top and my breasts fill it for the mostpart eg near the gore and centre of the cups, but each cup has almost excess fabric where the cup meets the straps which kind of flares out a bit in a weird way. If you were full on top it would probably not be so obvious, although as long as I wear a reasonably loose top (which is pretty much all I wear tbh!) it's not visible under clothes and doesn't really hinder the fit, it's just a bit odd. The straps are fully adjustable which is good but rather thin which isn't my preference. The structure is quite rigid and reasonably padded but as it's not a smooth cup it has a fairly prominent seam up the front centre of each cup (I would imagine this would become less prominent with wearing/washing as it softens and moulds to your body) - as a result I wouldn't wear this to work as too visible but prefer to wear non-padded outside of work - so as a result I've only worn it once so far and can't really see when I'd wear it again as it's just such an average fit for me. Prob will list soon. Read more 219 more words
I think this bra fits quite well - probably one of the best fits i have had (as i find it really hard to find something that actually fits!). The back is a 30 as it is the smallest that this bra comes in and is ok. I don´t feel that it rides up, although i don´t feel the cup is really supportive. I feel like my breasts bounce and move a bit in this bra. Maybe this is because the back isn´t firmer but i don´t know. Maybe it is just the sylge though.
I think the width of the wires ...are fine and i don´t think i get quad boob. The bra is quite low and gives quite a bit of cleavage so sometimes i find it hard to tell if that is just the look of the bra or if it is quad boob. But i thin the cups fit quite well for my full centre short root breasts.
The quality seems good and i think it looks good but i don´t wear that much as i prefer more support. Maybe the support problem is that the cup is quite an open shape - not sure how to describe this i mean like deco for example i find more open then some other bras like panache porcelain or cleo jude which i find have a firmer edge and hold my breasts in more - this seems to mean i get more quad boob but feel supported, wheras bras like this one and deco i find because they are more open my breat tissue stays softer and doesn´t create such a dramatic quad boob but i don´t feel held in. (not sure if any of that makes sense but thin it might be clearer from the pics) Read more 198 more words
This is a gorgeous bra, but sadly it doesn't fit me. The bra seems to be well made. It's a 3 part seamed bra. The bottoms of the cups are made of a layer mesh with lace over top, not too stretchy. Above the apex is just one layer of stretchy lace with elastic along the upper edge. The band is nice and firm.
This bra runs large in the cup and quite small in the band. It cannot be stretched to the listed size of 30, and unstretched is closer to 22". Someone with a 25"-26" ribcage could likely fit into this well. Inside the cups are pockets with air filled pillows that can be easily removed. I measured with the pillows inserted, so the cup would have even greater depth with them removed.
EDIT: the lace on the top of the cup has come quite loose, so I don't feel supported anymore and my breasts are left flapping at my sides instead of being brought together. The lace wrinkles and there's empty space in the top. I'll try to sew the lace near the gore to fix this.
I love love love this bra! Finding the right size was a little tricky because from the reviews I knew that the band was a little tight and the cups large, but I managed to order the perfect size (I went down a cup size and up a band size, which is convenient since ...lepel doesn't make 28 bands). I bought it from Bravissimo and it was quite cheap, so I'm really happy! The bra is very supportive and makes me feel sexy because of the lovely, soft black lace on the top of the cup. From the side the shape of my breasts looks a little funny but while wearing clothes they look perfectly rounded. I wouldn't recommend this bra to someone with very prominent/large/high nipples because they would show a lot through the lace (unless they're okay with that, of course!). I have slightly inverted nipples so that's not an issue for me, because even if I can see them through the lace, they're not visible through clothes. Read more 114 more words
This is a size smaller than my usual 30FF, but even if it was the correct size I don't think I'd like it. The cups are too wide and shallow for me. It has thin padded inserts which don't really appeal to me either. It's pretty and quite comfortable, but just not for me.
This is the first bra I am trying on in my new (proper) size. The band is comfortable and feels secure, though a lot tighter than I'm used to having worn a 34 band the last 11 years of my life. The band does have quite a bit of stretch to it though. The cups are too shallow for me, I have a bit of quadboob and there is wrinkling at the bottom of both cups. The lace overlay does a good job of giving a smoother appearance but the top of the actual cup cuts in. I like the look of this bra from the front, but ...it gives me a pointier profile than I am used to. The gore tacks, but the wire on the left side seems to be resting on a bit of tissue. For the 10 minutes I had this bra on, it was pretty comfortable but I can see the left wire near the gore being a problem if I wore this bra for an extended period of time. The width of the wires are okay (maybe a touch wide but better than I'm used to), and the sides between the wire and the strap come right up underneath my armpits but I don't mind this as I feel it gives me a bit more side support. Unfortunately I don't think I will be keeping this bra as I don't feel the cups are the right shape for me. Read more 137 more words
The first 2 times I tried this on it felt very tight but on the third try it seemed to have softened up a bit and felt ok. The hooks at the back are fairly close together for a fuller bust bra and I felt like I could have done with them spaced out a bit, or to have 3 close together instead.
Awesome, awesome bra. Once I figured out that I needed to size down a cupsize in this model, the fit is incredibly comfortable and solid. I usually need a 28 band (especially in Freya) but the 30 on this bra is supportive on the loosest hooks. The underwires are narrow, and the underwires themselves are literally that--very strong, rounded wires (just barely flattened), which seems to sit on my body way more comfortably than wider, flatter underwires. I had to bend out the outer edge for comfort, but that's not a huge deal. The straps are narrow but comfortable. The stretch lace/elastic on the top edge of the cup is very forgiving and comfortable. The lace fabric is very soft (though things have a tendency to snag, like the other hooks in my undwerwear drawer) and the wing/gore fabric is even softer. The wing also has a single piece of flat plastic boning on each side for additional support, and it seems to do a good job of keeping the wing smooth around my sides and back.
This bra is gorgeous to look at but fits like a nightmare. The band, which is supposed to be a 30, very easily stretches out to 80cm (or approx the band size of 36) What's going on here?? For some reason the cup also stretches out and does not give me the cleavage that I was looking for. I will be returning this bra
Too small in the cups for me. I like the edges of the cups, they're zig zagged instead of straight. The crisscross side details are also nice. Comes with inserts to help with asymmetrical boobs.
I wanted this bra since I also own it in a 32E which was a wonderful fit until I lost weight. I've shortened the band on the 32E and now it fits fine again. Unfortunately this bra doesn't fit the same, the wires come up higher on the sides and therefore poke. Apart from that it's still a good fit, the center gore is low and wide, the cups are quite shallow (I usually wear a 30E) and the wires are wide. The band is also very firm, I'm between band size 28 and 30 and the 30 fits nicely in this bra.
This bra is so pretty and comfortable! I love it! It is unfortunate that it did not work for me. Cup seems a little small, but it could be that the shape was just slightly too shallow for me. Super comfortable...band was nice and stretchy, but it did not seem to stretch out too much.
This is so beautiful on you! You look fantastic!!
