Nice looking and very comfortable bra. I have two of them (different colours) and I am planning to new Averos next. The only problem with these bras is that they've stretched out a little bit in less than one year. Marie Jo's Averos are also quite expensive if compared to for example those which can be purchased in Bravissimo or Brastop.
This is the most comfortable bra I own. It doesn't poke or pinch me anywhere.
I just bought it in a 34E. I think I might have been able to go a band size down because I can hook it on the tightest hook easily. And I can feel it wiggle around when I move. A fitter put me in it and I trusted her judgement. (Luckily the store offers free alterations.)
I find the straps comfortable. The cups fit and I like the shape they give. It's a mostly natural tear drop shape, maybe a little pointed.
As much as I loved the halter version of this bra, this strapless one disappoints me. My theory is that the band needs to be just a bit smaller in order to fit me more comfortably. I haven't been able to test that theory because while it feels ok in the loosest hook, if I hook into the middle row I get pokey wire in the outer edge of my left (slightly larger) breast. It begins to hurt after a few hours and persists for at least a day. I still wear it under sleeveless tops as it's my best fitting strapless bra. Will probably get my next strapless in a 28" band or even 26" if I can find one.
Fits me great. This is the best fitting bra I've ever had (been wearing the wrong size) It fits very snugly around the ribcage and makes my shape very flattering. The material is somewhat thin compared to bras I've had in the past and feels very light yet supportive. I have only had this bra for 6 months, but I like it a lot.
Minor issue: I hate the flower detail on the straps. The flowers are a bit crunchy and my long hair gets tangled in them.
My school is affiliated with Van de Velde, who did a measuring program. I am a 65D according to them which is obviously a bit off, especially since most of their bras are a shape mismatch for me (I have narrow roots and am centerful with no outer fullness whatsoever...They kept on giving me smaller cupsizes because I had gaping on the side, while I started getting quadboob everywhere else), but I had gotten a coupon afterwards which I thought I'd use. It's a pricier brand (€90 for me, and it's local) and the coupon was €50! I browsed the site a bit looking for a bra that ...looks like it could be a better fit based on the pictures, and ended up with the Elis plunge. It is made out of versatile stretch lace/mesh and has a slightly narrower wire and taller cup than most of their other models. The band also runs a bit tight, more like a 28/60 while it's a 30/65, which is great for me who is technically a "27" band and on who most 30's are way too loose. As it is a reputable company, the bra is obviously also well-made Read more 89 more words
I was professionally fitted at a local boutique and purchased this bra. They fitted me at a 30DD/E but they did not have my size available in this bra. The 32 is comfortable and stays put during the day.
This bra is almost perfect on me. I have tall roots, am petite, and slightly shallow. The wires feel a bit wider than some Marie Jo models. Straps are in a good, not-too-wide position. There's not much adjustment room, though, so alterations might be needed if straps stretch out. Band is mesh and lace. A bit stretchy, but good firmness. Note that in D cup and above, this is NOT really a push-up and has no cookies. I don't see any reason why a D cup can't have cookies, but it does fit well without them. Cups are lined with a loose foam and covered with lace. The cups and lace are on the tall side and lay perfectly if the fit is good. It's beautiful, but the lace and single seam will be a bit bumpy under thin tops. Very comfortable.
Recently picked this up at a local boutique. I wanted to get properly fitted after losing some weight. I think this is the best fitting bra I have ever owned.
This is probably the worst fitting bra I have ever worn.
There is NO projection in the cups. None. Because of this, the underwires quickly migrated out of my IMF & sat on my lower breast tissue. I wore this bra one time (only for a few hours) & I was aware of how uncomfortable it was the whole time. My coworkers probably thought I was nuts from the way I was yanking and readjusting this thing during my entire shift. Needless to say, the gore is far from tacking!
The details are beautiful, but it's a definite no for me. Boob-hat central. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
I'm probably going to have to update this review a few times, so be warned.
First: the appearance of this bra on the rack is great. The pink is pinker than you'd expect but not candy-colored, and would work as a subtle/nude bra. Despite being fairly simple in design, I don't find it boring or sexless. Great basic. The materials are soft and nice, not scratchy, and everything seems properly finished.Given the price-point, and the brand's reputation, this had better be a good quality bra. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
The cups are smooth and shiny, seem fairly close on top. Not visible under a t-shirt at ...all. Band has some give, but runs tighter than Chantelle or Simone Perele bras I have tried (which was a pleasant surprise for me). Bra seems to be the right size, gore sits flat and there's no gaping or bulging, but I'm wondering if there's enough projection for me: the cup seems wider (esp on top, at the end of the wire, I know I've got a little space left there) than I need it to be and I can feel the wire on my larger side dig in the rib a little. Otherwise very comfortable. The straps don't adjust super-short, so that might be an issue for some. (I typically don't have straps as short as they go, but on this one I almost do.) Straps are pretty wide-set too. Read more 136 more words
Strap placement good for narrow shoulders. Cup seems to push fullness toward centre, causing slight spillage on larger side. Profile under tight top is rounded and minimised. Band nice and tight
So I swapped my 65C - Marie Jo » Jane Padded Bra (0101339) for the same thing in 65D. It fits perfectly but is uncomfortable. The wire comes up high at the sternum and hurts me. Otherwise, no complaints.
This bra is really nice if it wasn't for the fact that it's too small for me. I had considerable quadding in this bra. I eventually exchanged it for the 65D. It's a moulded balconette and has a similar shape to the B.tempt'd By Wacoal Ciao Bella Balconette (953144) .
This bra fit just fine when I first got it. It's too small now, because I need 30D or 28DD now. It is great for shallow, broad rooted, tall rooted types. It would be better if the beading and lace wasn't there.
This is a very comfortable bra. I was sized recently, and told I was a 32F (up from the 32DD I had been wearing). Of the 4 new bras I bought, this is the only one that is actually a 32F though (the other 3 were Freya, which I've read other people have sized down for).
The band is fairly stretchy, and the cups are soft, not really rigid. There are some flowers on the mesh covering of the bra that look pretty, but don't show through on shirts.
Of all my bras, this one provides the least amount of push up/out, it covers and supports comfortably, which is good for wearing under styles that I don't want to look too 'booby' in. The top never digs in or gapes, either.
I have the shoulder straps tightened as far as they will go, though, so hopefully they don't stretch too much.
This is a lovely nude bra with embroidered mesh on the sides and front. The band is a much snugger fit than most 30s I've tried. Overall this balconette style fits me fairly well even though the cups are just deep enough. I'd recommend trying the next cup size up as well.
