This is seriously the softest bra I've ever tried on in my life! The bra is absolutely stunning and silky-smooth everywhere. The straps are a tad too wide for me, but they are also soft so I don't think they will cause any discomfort. I'm considering snipping the straps all-together and wearing it as a strapless, has anyone tried this?
Anyway, overall, super beautiful bra. I'm absolutely in love!
Edit: I snipped the straps on this and it totally works strapless for me. Absolutely love it!
The good: - so, so beautiful & impeccably made - snug band - enough immediate projection!!! - lovely, rounded shape
The less good: - the cups are too tall for me - I wish the band had more stretch; it's quite firm - straps are quite far apart and don't have much stretch
In sum: In theory, Anise is my ideal bra (shallow-ish but with immediate projection, open on top cups, wicked tight band for a 28), but it's not quite right for me. This would be the perfect bra for a <28 band person with tall roots or a lot of upper fullness!
I was so excited to get this bra from another Bratabaser. I keep hearing about how beautiful and soft it is, and it has been in my Recommendations forever!
Unfortunately it doesn't fit in this size. I think I need to go up a cup... or two... or three? When I first put it on, I actually burst out laughing because my nipples were not even in the cups. I tucked them in to take pictures. It quadboobed me so much that I actually had four roughly equal-sized boobs. Weirdly, I can pull the bra up a little and settle into it and not look THAT bad, but even then the coverage is too low for comfort, like the inmates might pop free at any moment.
I am sad that I'll have to sell this and see if I can find one in a bigger size. The hardware is shiny and beautiful, the straps have a glossy sheen to them, and this is truly a very elegant looking bra!
So,other than this bra being beautiful and soft,it does NOT work on my body. For whatever reason,my right breast barely fills the cup but my left breast is almost spilling over. The center tacks great,and although the band looks tight in the pics it fits fairly comfortably. The padding is a little too thick for my liking. I'm not really sure what's going on here with this bra or my boobs (I'm new to proper fitting) but it just doesn't fit right!
I was keen on trying a new brand as I tend to focus on Mimi Holliday and Freya so was glad to pick up this bra through Bratabase. Lovely looking bra, nice feel to the fabric of the cups, band, and straps, but I share the previous owner's pain with the gore. The wires seem stiff and my bony ribs do not accommodate well. I have now successfully replaced the wires in a different, painful bra with too wide and stiff cups and think that the Harem is another candidate. Looking forward to the challenge.

I should have remembered about replacing the stiff wires with softer ones and would have saved myself lots of time! Instead, I removed the Harem's cups and sewed them onto a Mimi Holliday bra that was too small in the cups. Many hours later of removing stitches and hand-sewing, has turned the Mimi Holliday into a lovely Frankenstein bra.
This bra is so pretty! So pretty! Wearing it makes me feel like a model, and I'm discovering that I carry some of that confidence into my day even when I'm the only one who knows about my gorgeous underwear. If only it felt comfortable enough for all day I'd be completely delighted. As it is, there are some problems.
The cups on this bra are the right shape, size, and placement for me, so that's a good start. I wish the band were a little longer and more stretchy, though. I bought this 28D knowing that I'd need to add an extender -- ...a 30C would have fit me better, but they don't make that size. With the extender the fit is okay, but I still am working on fine-tuning it so I can be comfortable all day. The straps are a little on the short side, but I can work with that. The wires are very stiff -- the whole bra feels stiff -- and I am still figuring out whether sliding them in their channels helps, or whether I can bend them a wee bit to take some pressure off my sternum. When I take the bra off there are red marks in the various too-tight places, which I'm using to guide me in where to bend.
But -- so pretty! I'll have to update you next year about how this bra holds up under washing and wear, and whether I was ever able to make it feel good for more than occasional special uses. It looks well made at the start, and I'm very hopeful. Read more 170 more words
I agree the Alice is gorgeous, so sad it doesn't work for me anymore (if it ever did, but I pretended for a little while). I definitely agree wearing pretty bras boosts your confidence. When I was bravangelizing my mom she was like "what's the point of all that frilly stuff if nobody sees it." I'm like "umm, I SEE IT!" Teehee. I'm a secret princess!

The gore of this bra is very painful on me. I tried wearing the band higher, lower, tighter, looser. Nothing. Finally I tried bending the wires but could not get them to behave. I don't see this mentioned on any other reviews so it's possible that this is unique to the way the bra fits me.
The bra very nearly fits my larger side (just a little bit unfilled) and gaps noticeably in the apex on my smaller side. The band feels good, true to size. I agree that the seam between the upper and lower portions is visible under shirts, but it doesn't bother me at all.
Other than that, I think this bra is beautiful, soft with shiny fabric, and has real potential to be sexy and comfortable, for someone who it doesn't wish to murder. I am happy I got to try this bra and I hope to find a Masquerade that works for me some day!
This bra is not for shallow breasts. There was major wrinkling along the horizontal seam, and the top edge dug into my breasts because this bra is closed off at the top. However, it's absolutely beautiful. I love the tassel where there's usually a bow, and the band is made of a nice thick and satiny material. I didn't have any problems with the band--I'm sub-28 and I had no problems getting it on. The band is definitely on the stiffer side, though.
Like many other reviews, I can't get over how soft this bra is! All of the materials are soft to the touch and this bra is extremely comfortable. It also looks quite different from the other bras I own and I would own this bra in every color if my size wasn't so hard to find. The cups are wide and shallow, which I need.
The only problems I have with this bra is that straps are a touch far apart, although I have no problems with straps slipping or being pokey. This bra gives a pretty pointy, vintage corset-like shape which can look odd under clothing. I don't quite fill out the apex of the cup because the pointy shape isn't the same shape as me, but otherwise the bra fits well and I would absolutely buy it again.
I have a wide root and shallow boobs. I do need flat cups but not extraordinary wide wires. I almost don't have any volume on top.
The graphite coloured one runs about one cup size larger then the mineral blue one. While I tried a mineral blue one in 30D which fitted properly I had to size down for the graphite one. The band appears to be true to size. Since it is quite low the center gore sometimes hurts me.
The bra is absolutely gorgeous, however, I've found that the centre gore does dig in slightly. The cups were slightly too big on me (although for some reason it fit my smaller breast but was too big for my larger one) It's a fab bra, and I got it at a great price
This bra is one of my new favorites for fit, particularly on the smaller end of my cycle (I needed a bra or two to take care of those days, so I'm thrilled to have found something). I'm a fan of quite firm bands, which this definitely is. I'm relatively average projected and slightly full on bottom, and gives great shape and lift. Unfortunately, the colors of the fabric aren't the best for my skin tone (being very, very pale is a major drawback at times), but that's not a major issue for me at all.
The band isn't as tight as some of the other Masquerades I tried. It fits like a true 28, maybe a tiny bit loose, in my opinion. The band has flexible, thin rubber strips sewn on the inside to help prevent slipping. I thought the three hook-and-eye closures were nice. The cups are smooth and don't show through shirts. I think it's a decent fit for shallow busts, though not perfect. I get some empty spaces in the cups, but it hides them well.
The bad parts are the wires. The gore is unusually high that the top of the gore digs in and hurts. I usually have problems with low gores, not high, but this one is a bit painful. The sides are pretty high too. I think I'm going to keep it with the center gore patched with foams or something because this is my only strapless bra that doesn't fall when I breathe out.
This bra runs small. It has wide straps that didn't extend long enough for it to fit me. The band isn't very stretchy and it needs slightly more projection than I have to offer. It might be good for someone 'slightly shallow' or even projection. The bra is soft and comfortable though!
While this bra doesn't fit perfectly, and I would trade it for the 28DD in heart beat, I'll still keep it. The wires poke me in the sternum a bit, more when I slouch. The cups are just a bit too small, but nothing noticeable since there is kind of a thick line at the top of the cup (which are shaped in such a way that any quad boobing is minimized), and the lace masks it a bit as well since it extends just over the top of the cup. It gives a good shape, and so it can look good under most shirts. However, the two vertical seems and the thick edge of the cups are fairly noticeable under t-shirts. The band is very stiff, but it's true to size. The straps are fairly thick on the shoulder, and ridiculously comfortable. I also love the details of the lace as well as the look and feel of the material.
The band is pretty firm. The cups look to be good for shallow busts. They are open on top and there are no horizontal seams. I'm having a similar problem as Karen or Maddie with this one, so I think it may work well for those who can wear Maddie.
Pros: looks good when I'm not wearing it. Gives a nice, rounded shape - no pointy boobs here.
Cons: center of underwires go into my chest. Too long for me. The first time I wore this bra, I got stabbed on the right side as well, right under my armpit. It continued to hurt until I figured out I could bend the wire a tiny bit and have it not stab me. This bra is not forgiving if you don't fill out the cups at the top. Something about the shape of the cups is also off for me. My nipples don't go to the center of the cup ...where it looks like they should go. If I pull out the cup a little bit, I can see empty space underneath larger boob and more empty space underneath smaller boob. The center gore also kind of curves outward at the bottom, for lack of a better description. When I noticed this, I thought I might be able to alter the bra to make it fit better by taking it in in the center and removing the "extra" in the middle. No go.
Probably should be wearing a smaller cup size given how much space there was, but I'm pretty sure they don't make this in a 28C. Off to ebay it goes. Read more 112 more words
Love the Haydee. Fits very comfortable and it is a beautiful bra. It has a retro - there's a slight "torpedo" shape to it, but it is not exagerated, I'd say it's like a torpedo-shape bra for the modern times. It may not please all, though. This particular shape, I believe, is what makes the Haydee have deeper cups than other Masquerade bras - definitely quite a bit deeper than my all-time favorite, the Capella. That accounts for the fact that my fit in Haydee is the 28D, wehereas in the Capella it's the 28E. I'd say my "real" size is the 28DD, but the Capella is particularly ...shallow, and the Haydee is particularly deep.
Fabric: satiny and gorgeous. The blush+black combination is beautiful. Straps: quite wide and very comfortable. Suits me fine. Band: I'd say it is possibly not as snug as the Capella, but still snug enough for me to start wearing it in the first clasp.
No laces and frill make the Haydee a good choice for wearing with "revealing" fabrics also, as long as not too clingy. Only con I find is that the cups could enclose my breasts a bit more in the underarm - could be a bit wider. Read more 97 more words
First, I must say that I was in love with this bra before I even bought it, so it should be obvious that I was going to be let down. That out of the way, this is a very pretty, very quality bra that simply does not fit right. It looks okay when it's on me - looking in the mirror, I probably wouldn't guess that the bra isn't right. Under clothes, you'd never tell. But it certainly feels off, and looks bad from my vantage point. It's mostly the cups I have trouble with. When I opened the package, I thought to myself - holy hell, those things are ...HUGE! (given my size, this is relatively speaking) I mean, I had bought a Freya Deco 28D, and even that I remember being smaller than these things. The cups on this bra are very wide, which I like, and that's why I buy Panache. However, they were not as shallow as I had hoped. The dimensions seem closer to a 28DD, so I'm guessing this runs a bit large. The cups are 3-part seamed, and I admit that I often have trouble with this construction - the top panel always seems to be angled oddly for my breasts, meaning I'm gaping at the tips and the edge is ending too low on my chest. It's also the type of cup where the area near the gore is much more open than the area by the straps, and would probably be better for women who have more breast tissue towards the center of their chest. In sum, the cups would probably work best for middle- and center- heavy wide boobs. That is unfortunately not me. Cup issues aside, there's still more to say about this bra. The straps are not fully adjustable, and given their satiny material, not the most likely candidates for staying up. The band is definitely the smallest 28 I've ever seen, but despite that, it felt a little loose on me - and I have an underbust that's somewhere between 25-27 inches. I think it felt loose because the band is really unstretchy and didn't cling to me the way a more elasticized band does. This might not be an issue for other women, but I felt it was worth pointing out. So, overall, the Lula-Mae was a really, really nice bra that I very much wanted to own and love, but the shape of the cup was just bizarre on me - way too much room in the center, despite a great fit on the bottom half. But if you have wide breasts, this is definitely a bra worth trying. Read more 333 more words
