Just as unbelievably gorgeous as my Lula Mae in olive. Except this one soooort of fits. I mean, I knew it was going to be small in the cup, but this is the largest cup this bra comes in, in a 30 band. So pretty. Gives me tons of quad-boob, and the band is probably too tight. It seems as if I'm riiiiiiiight in between a 30 and a 32 band, and it's been a challenge trying to find something that isn't too tight or waaaaay too loose. Challenges.
Aww, too bad it doesn't quite fit you! I had high hopes. Challenges indeed. :( At least it's pretty, right? :D
Yeah, I mean I'm definitely keeping it, it fits about as well (maybe a bit better) than my other good option, a Freya in 32G. The other 30H I have doesn't work at all, the wires dig in in a really bad way. Thanks. :3
This bra is really well made and comfortable... but it runs REALLY big in the cups! Usually a 30H is a bit big in the band on me, but otherwise a good fit, sometimes even too small; on this bra, there's a significant gap between the top of my boobs and the bra. That said, since it's molded it doesn't look weird and bumpy like a softcup bra might- you can just see the outline of it under a shirt. My breasts are lifted and supported and stay in place, more or less- I just wore it while playing with my dog and jiggled a lot, but ...didn't fall out of it.
It still looks great- I might just put a couple darts in the cups to make them smaller.
The only other problem is that the underwire runs high under my arms. It's not poking painfully, but it's definitely right up there against my armpit. So while it's great for shirts that are low-cut at the neckline, it's not so great for shirts that are low-cut under the arms, like most tank tops.
Pros: Well-made, great materials. Good plunge shape for low-cut necklines. Great support. Beautiful, and in a color you rarely see in bras. Underwires are well padded so they don't poke.
Cons: Huge in the cups. Go for at least one size down. High under the arms. Fabric is kinda slippery (it's satiny stuff.) This is nice comfort-wise, but if your boobs like to escape your bra, you might want something with a little more grip. Color and lace probably will show under anything light-colored. This is for the grey/black colorway. First impression is that the cups are very tall, narrow and designed with a TON of lift in mind at the wire. The wires are very tall and U with a lower arm at gore than the outer side, by about an inch. While this may not matter so much for a lot of people, those ...with short roots or high set might find this taller outer arm to be an issue on the smaller band end of the spectrum. Even though the wires are more narrow than average, they are still likely to extend pretty far around the ribcage underneath the arms.
There is some give to the3 panel foam and net construction, so instead of complete compression it lets up a little bit and allows breasts to settle a little lower in the cup without driving the whole thing down the ribs. This is a big deal for me as I need all the projection along the sides and bottom of cup, but not so much at the very apex or inner halves. All gores are aggravating at pretty much every length, so I'm not sure how to feel about the ultra tall ones which press in on the top, but aren't burrowing a hole through my chest where my breasts converge. This is a good bra that I've had for years but haven't worn very much because I don't love the shape it gives me under clothes (very projected and round).
I've been wanting to try Rhea for a long time: such a round shape, cakes on a plate cleavage, what's not to like? Came across this for cheap and since Masquerade is discontinued, I thought I'd better snatch it up while I could.
I'd read many reviews beforehand and suspected it wouldn't be perfect. And indeed, there are some issues.
Straps: veeeerrrry very wide set. I'll have to move them in. Not sure about the satiny unstretchy strap material. Band: thin (2 hooks) and tight. However it does stretch out quite a bit, so the 30 feels right. Cups: wide and shallow, but they do allow for upper fullness. Shouldn't have gone any smaller than H. I'm expecting some buckling in the bottom.
All in all, I'm glad to have finally tried this. After altering the straps, Ill probably get some decent wear out of Rhea.
Love this basque. It's really comfy. This cup size is a little too small for me, and I'd prefer a 30HH, but sadly that doesn't exist in this. I'm also STILL not sure what a basque is 'for'.
The gore, as usual, was way too high for me, the separation too wide. This one was a weird fit. I kind of liked the wide wires, which I don't usually. The cups came up way higher than I needed them too, though. I think it's just overall wrong for me, wrong shape wrong size, etc.
The straps are wide, kind of padded. It's comfy, but I doubt they would be something you could hide in skimpy clothes.
It's sure pretty, though https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
I have this bra in 32H because I figured from the measurements that it would fit. However, it was too big both in the band and the cup, so I got myself a 30H.
It's pretty near perfect. Love the rounded yet somewhat compressed shape, love the comfort straps, love the looks... Everything! The band is snug but that's definitely no problem, it is bound to stretch with wear anyway.
The straps, however, are REALLY wide-set. Luckily they're soft and wide so they don't dig in, but I get a weird gaping on the side on my left (= my smaller boob) when I lean forward and/or turn my shoulders forward. I assume this is because of the wide-set straps, so I'll make a fitting help request and probably move the straps closer if my suspicions are confirmed.
This bra is cuter in person! The tassel is just adorable, and I love the lacy straps. I was a little unsure about the cup size -- It feels almost borderline too small, and while the cups are comfortable and don't cause quadboob at the boundary, it's just small enough that there's slight bulging in the upper cup under the fabric. I'd call it on the small side of fitting. If a 30H fits me, generally, it means the style runs bigger (I'm usually more of a 30HH/J), so take heed!
The biggest problem with this bra is that the band is very stiff, as several reviewers have mentioned, and the band is quite tight. I'm keeping this size because I figure a band this stiff won't be terribly elastic when it does start to loosen, so I'm anticipating a dramatic change in band size over its wear.
This is an amazing bra! The fit and comfort are much better than the Curvy Kate Tease Me and Thrill Me bras https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> The shape is wonderful. Round and uplifted! The 30H is a little too small, but wearable. (I usually wear a 30HH) I would buy a 30HH if the size was made. The only fit issue I have is that the gore doesn't lat flat on my chest. I have extremely close boobs i.e. there is absolutely no space in between them. The only gores that sit flat are low plunge gores. However, this gore is narrower than bras ...of similar shape https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> Also, I prefer bras with 3 hooks and this has 2. it is a stiff, tight band though, so it doesn't ride up as much as the 30GG deco does.
If you love a round, uplifted shape, buy this bra if you can find it at a reasonable price! I am now lusting for the Delphi basque https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" /> Read more 73 more words
This bra is really pretty but too large/fits odd for me. The top of the cup line is right at my about to pop out the nipple line. The straps are stretchy and lose their shape easily. Have to keep adjusting them tighter throughout the day. Also the straps are a little thin and dig into your shoulders. I don't like the frills at the edge of the cup, they just get in the way.
I do like the way they designed the center gore, sexy and still separates the boobs well enough.
Masquerade is normally my favorite line and I was disappointed with this bra. I still wear it because it offers decent support, but you have to wear a tank top to hide the lace and frilly mess.
I loved this bra when I saw it because my favorite bra of all time is the Harlequin Florence... Anyway, I got this bra and the cups were just TOO wide, all its measurements in the cup are about 2-4 inches larger than my size I wore in the Florence. It is a beautiful bra and well made. The edge of the cup gaps at the armpit and the wire digs in my armpit. However--- It is pretty thick padding and the cups stand up on their own so technically I could wear it if I wanted, but it is just not supportive.... so It is hanging in my closet new with tags!
Review to come soon. Band is fairly unstretchable so it's fairly stable even in a band size up. The cups run large and fit more like a typical 30HH. Works very well on full-on top/firmer breasts but can leave gapping on top for bottom heavy/softer breasts.
Aww, too bad it doesn't quite fit you! I had high hopes. Challenges indeed. :( At least it's pretty, right? :D
