And since I can't afford Von Follies , I made my own ooomphy basque. Hot / not?
Please cheack out the pics, I will be adding a satin shortie to it https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> (and listing the thing after Halloween)
It's a great bra for people who like plunges and need wide wires. Sometimes I hear bad opinions about this bra... I guess it just doesn't work for everybody, it's just how it is. Some very popular models doesn't work good for me. So please keep it in mind before criticizing a bra! One shop in my area stopped selling those bras because customers allegedly complained. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> I wear Masquarade's polkas for years and believe me, they are perfectly fine.
So, this time it's a red and black one in 32F. It fits really nice, is comfortable, doesn't poke. It has wide wires, ...so it's perfect for wide-rooted breasts but probably won't work for narrow roots. It's 'lightly padded' so it means that cups are kinda stiff but it's not thick enough to add volume. It's cut deeply, with very low and narrow gore, so it's also good for those of us who struggle with finding comfortable gores - it doesn't poke.
My breasts are moderately full on top, if yours are very full it may cut in, this bra isn't very open, I'd say it's medium in this aspect - neither very closed or open. I also have one 32FF which I prefer to wear when my breasts swell. So you may try a cup size bigger.
What I noticed is this bra tends to be more closed and pointy-shaped when it's new, as that's when cups are very stiff, but they go softer with time and fit the shape of breasts better... So if you like this bra, it may be worth to give it a try even if it doesn't fit perfectly and seem a tiny bit pointy. It should get better with every wash. This model is very similar to Orion, but Orion is much softer. However, I find stiffer cups in Polka provide slightly better hold and shape.
The band it's true to size, in my opinion. I have slightly above 31 inches under bust and 32 is perfect. I also have a 34F of the same model and even though it seems ok when I put it on, after a while I can feel it doesn't provide enough support and even rides up slightly. However if you prefer looser bands, you may find 34 better.
I wish this bra was made from slightly different fabric, especially on band. Perfectly powermesh, as it could be more breathable.
Visually it's rather pretty, though maybe not in very sophisticated way, shiny satin, dots and lace border. It looks ok under clothes, the seams or lace border may be somewhat visible under thinner clothes, but not too much.
However, this bra is still pretty hardy, though it may not look like it. I know because I wore my first polka until it nearly started to fall apart. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> So it should last several years of intensive use. Perhaps if it wasn't satin it could last even longer. Read more 387 more words
WOW. I measured the bra first and I was feeling doubtful about the wide wires, shallow cup, and low wires, but the cleavage! I haven't seen that since I was wearing too small cups!
the band is quite snug but not uncomfortable. I was worried about the strap placement but it's not uncomfortable. the low center gore tacks.
i have period bloat right now so I'm not sure if my puffiness is too-small cups or what it is. the bra gleams like peau de soie. stitching is very good, not a single loose thread. the strap ring is maybe a bit too small for the straps. it's a lovely bra, but I don't know if I need a bigger cup or not.
I think currently it's my best fitting bra. I wasn't too enthusiastic to buy it because it looked plain and dull on the photos but it was a good deal. I must say this bra looks and works much better in action than on photos. It's a really good model, deep plunge with a very low and narrow gore, gathers my breasts together, but not too close. Gives moderate lift and natural shape. Like all Masquerade plunges, this is a good bra for people who need wider wires.
I still think that design is not too good, I don't like white bras, I find them impractical. Orion is nice to wear because of 48% cotton content and it would be a great everyday bra, if not for the excessive embroidery, which doesn't really look especially nice on itself, but tends to show a lot through clothes. So for me, Orion is neither a practical everyday bra, nor a boudoir beauty. The best thing about its look is the shape of cleavage.
This bra is incredibly comfortable and has the side support to actually prevent slipping. I am so disappointed that it is discontinued, because it was the only perfect fit bra for me. I have had it for 3 years now and the band is only now sagging.
This bra is a great fit for my current size but the straps do not adjust short enough. I took the bra to a tailor to have about 3" removed. Now it is perfect.
Fits pretty well but there is strap gap as with most of my bras (I'm short-rooted) and because of where the lace falls with this one it can sometimes wrinkle oddly. The shape is slightly more pointy than most of my bras and the lace and the seaming shows under thin fabrics so I can't wear this with everything. The first half of the straps are padded satin and not elastic and sometimes cut into my armpits a little bit around my tail of spence.
Though I'm a dedicated Ewa Michalak/Comexim fangirl, I've been interested to try more readily available brands/styles known to have good projection (e.g., Masquerade Rhea, Antoinette, or Delphi). The Delphi was my least preferred style to try but I found such a great deal I figured it was worth a try, for diagnostic purposes if nothing else. The projection is better than I expected but I could have still used more, however the main issue, as I anticipated, was this size being large on me, and I was really right - it's at least a cup size or two off. In person it's also a little mature in style for my taste as I thought it might be, but the satiny straps that widen from 0.5" at the cup attachment to 1.125" at the widest point are a beautiful feature. Not for me but it'll be listed soon for someone else who's interested!
Its hard to tell in the pix, but this bra is charcoal satin, a nice switch from black. The dramatic lace overlay is highlighted with subtle royal purple along the top edge. The straps are unique - they are non-stretch satin, and widen out up to the shoulders. Its a vintage look, Masquerade's studied aesthetic. Delightful narrow wires with half-cup height on sides and gore, deep cotton-lined 3 part cups almost horizontal and open on top: here comes lift lift lift for a stunning Renaissance cleavage and round apples from the side. Gold metal fixtures add another touch of class. Band is very firm, the whole bra is pretty firm in fact, you're not slouching around here you are showing what ya got! I feel slightly naughty in this bra...
This review is for the black Rhea. I love this bra; it is the closest to fitting I've tried yet. The band is too big for me (32), but a 30 would be perfect. The straps are long enough to adjust on my tall frame. The front cups are very soft satiny feel, and the inside is a soft cotton. The cups lift and round the boobs very nicely, and I finally feel like my entire breast is fully in the cup without being too squished. It is a 3 part cup, so good enough depth for me. The cups are narrower than others I've tried, and the gore is higher and narrower... the combination works great for supporting me and lifting me up. The quality looks really good as well.
I've had this black Rhea for maybe 9 months and worn it maybe 4-5 times as a special occasion bra. I love it. For the purpose, it is the absolute best: it provides lovely cakes-on-a-plate cleavage and doesn't show under wide scoop necklines. The satin fabric is luxurious and sexy and if this bra weren't so darn big on me now, I would keep it forever.
The fabric of this bra is SO. SOFT. I wish it fit me. Unfortunately for me, it's completely open on top, so it gaps on me. For someone very FOT who needs a lot of openness on top, I think this would be a perfect bra, however since there's the gap it just doesn't give me that 'cakes on a plate' cleavage i wanted it to.
This bra is so pretty. The lace overlay is very delicate and expensive looking. It works as a t shirt bra, the lace does not show through tight, thin shirts. Gives a rounded silhouette and cakes on a plate cleavage. The only thing I don't like is that the straps are less then halfway adjustable, I was able to adjust them short enough but they're tightened as far as possible. Still, it wont be hard to fix that if I need to in the future. I love this bra!
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! The band runs firm, so the 32F is good on the middle set of hooks. I get some nice Marie Antoinette cleavage. It reminds me of my Freya Patsy in how it fits. The embroidery along the top shows through thin shirts, but it is a nice neutral color (Antique).
I knew the band ran tight in Orla, so this time, I went for a 32 back. The plum colourway seems not as firm as the white/ivory/vanilla, which I had a little trouble closing in a 30 band. This fits looser, and I'm most comfortable on the middle hooks.
The cups are somewhat wider than I want, but not uncomfortably so. The bottom cups are shallow, leaving just a little bit of empty space as I need more projection. The gore is mostly tacking (floats sometimes due to my centre fullness) and I do not quad out of the cups. The shoulder straps are very wide-set, which might be ...a problem for ladies who have narrower shoulders than I do. The lace and embroideries are very pokey through tops and shows through most everything - so don't wear this with anything even a little bit clingy.
The Plum colourway is BEAUTIFUL - rich and deep and neither too blueish nor too pink. I am not, however, a huge fan of the beige lining on the inside of the cups - it works on my pale skin, but would look strange on someone darker. Read more 83 more words
I nabbed this off Zulily in my sister size of 32F because I adore the look of this bra in the Sepia colourway, but alas, my hopes are in vain and it simply won't fit.
The band is too loose: I need to hook it to the tightest hooks straight out of the bag. I've read that Panache run tight in the band and it helps to size up, but I just find the 32 band Panaches don't feel right. I do need to use an extender on some of their 30 bands, sometimes only one extra row and sometimes all three, but I far prefer that to starting ...out a bra on the tightest hooks.
The cups are too large, but I'd have to try both the 30FF and the 30F to know which would fit better, because some of the gaping is due to the straps attaching too far to the sides on the cup for me -- but a shorter band would hopefully sort that out at least a little. Experimenting with tightening the band so that the gore tacks better resulted in the cup accommodating my inner fullness and almost filling the cup, so perhaps the 30FF would suit me.
The cups looked quite pointy when they arrived, having only a single vertical seam, but when I put them on (and experimented with the band tightness so I could approximately fill them), they looked like they'd give a lovely round shape.
So disappointed this one didn't work for me https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> Read more 150 more words
