Really good fit, better than I expected! I came from r/ABraThatFits's calculator with a size of 32FF (I'm not sure about my shape, but I think I have a lot of projection, maybe full on bottom? Definitely narrow shoulders though) and expected to have some trial and error... I got this one used (but like new) and it honestly felt so good that I almost cried! The gore doesn't quite touch my sternum, but it's really close (and I'm kinda chubby/I have a stomach, so not sure if that's what it is or not). The band is also surprisingly comfy (side note: looking at how small the bra ...looked, I was honestly wondering if it'd be too small for big ol' me, who always flopped/slid out of the pretty, cute bras I'd gotten from AdoreMe. But I guess I'm more petite (just with some big tiddies) than I thought I was!). The cups also feel really, really good; smooth, comfortable, filled out well. No spilling, not even when I wiggled around or bent over!! (That's my biggest fear for any not unlined bras, I'm not used to them at all) I also like the kinda rounded shape it gives me. My only little issue is with the straps. I have narrow shoulders, so they slid off quite a bit. After adjusting the straps (aaaall the way/shortest they could go), I think that issue is fixed, though (it feels kinda strange, but I've never worn a balconette before)! I think that's more the style and less the fit itself; all in all, I'm really happy with the bra and I want another one/more that fit like this! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt=":D" /> Read more 175 more words
I love Masquerade's retro 1940's aesthetic - a little burlesque, a little nostalgic, all woman. The matte patterned satin of Shanghai nails that aesthetic, it is right off a cheongsam (the high-neck fitted tunic) with its embroidered rose vines. It is also orange, not pumpkin but persimmon; again nailing it design-wise. How many sophisticated orange bras are there?? The gore is really, really low. This is a true plunge cut. The cups are deep enough for me at the wire and not exceptionally tall like other plunges but I think this fits closer to a 32F. The band is firm. The straps are embroidered, so not completely adjustable. Its a beauty, but I can't wear plunges.
I think this bra is not the right size for me. I have been wearing it for a few months, in the beginning it seemed fine, or maybe I did not checked the sizing well enough. It is pretty, but (in this size) not as supportive as I would like a bra to be. The cup's seem to gap at the top, and wrinkle at the base. Also the band seems to wide, the maximal stretch for the band is 87 on the first hook, and 90 cm on the last. I think that is far to much stretch for a bra that is sold as a 70 band.
Cons: Weird shape... flattens me out... cups run small? Also, band tighter than it claims to be... MUCH tighter. Also, straps don't really stretch, which is annoying.
Ah, it's a truly gorgeous bra, and I was so sad that it didn't fit and I had to return it. I should have paid attention to the other reviews about this bra having such wide and shallow cups, but I couldn't resist... The cups on my best-fitting bra are about 5.5 inches wide, and the Alice cups measure 7 inches! I also found the straps too short - I guess my breasts are pretty low-set, but it's hard to believe they'd be long enough even if the cups actually fit. Fabric and construction appear to be of high quality, and the rose and pale gold embroidery on the dark gray background is very romantic. It's unfortunate that Masquerade is no longer in business.
God, I love this bra. I found it in my size from a fellow user and cross referenced my measurements of the Fit Fully Yours Smoothie Sweetheart. It's amazing with open scoopneck tops. The cleavage it gives is stellar and works very well on my FoT bust. The only draw back for me is that the straps are pretty wide set and the cups opening is wide too. The bra doesn't budget, but the straps slip off without me noticing. I mean, at a least it reminds me to pull my shoulders back for better posture.
The cups are shallow on the bottom. The gore seperates from my sternum a bit during wear, but I would consider it a soft tack. I may have been able to fit into a 32G because there is slight quading on my larger breast, however I would be worried that the underwires would be too wide. Furthermore, the straps are very wide set. I consider myself a person of moderately broad shoulders and even I felt some discomfort. The straps have little elasticity and slip more easily because of how wide set they are. It looks great with square and scooped necklines. Overall, I love wearing the bra because it is aesthetically beautiful, but it's not comfortable for long hours of wear.
Short, projected, omega shaped, close set, center full breasts....
This is yet another of a 200+ list of bras with a too-wide gore, top and bottom. The cup volume felt great, but my shorties rested comfortably below the lace. It doesn't effect the fit, but the appearance is unappealing.
The pattern is colorful and fun, the cups lined in cotton, the straps substantial and supportive, and the fabric smooth.
Review is for the 'Damson' colorway. Looks more like wine than a plum color to me, though. Nice narrow U shaped wires, sufficient bottom projection, great lift: I get the typical Cleo high & round "apples" shape. I think this bra is made for those even all around. Heavy embroidery in an ornate pattern reminiscent of mosque screens or Byzantine (Turkish) ceramics; the bra is well-named. The embroidery is on a slightly sparkly sheer background. Half-lined in a silky beige mesh that matches my skin tone, so the illusion is of a fully lace bra. That lace? Kinda scratchy and stiff, especially noticeable on skin at the top ...unlined part and straps. Maybe a few washes will soften it up, but is is quite thick and stiff. Lace extends all the way along inner part of the satin-covered straps to past the shoulder and down the back a little to a silver ring and the adjuster. Straps are quite narrow and elastic after that point. They are also wide set, but I have wide shoulders so its OK. Band is a matte satin, very firm,, TTS and doesn't feel like it will stretch out with wear much. Wires come up high on the sides, containing side flesh, but not too high to poke. Cups also come up pretty high and the neckline on me is rather square-ish (wide set straps contribute no doubt). I can't quite fill the fabric right at the gore and get a tiny gap there because I am not center-full although I am close-set. Gore is narrow enough for that and tacks without hitting breast tissue. It's not enough loose fabric to mar the fit or look though. The bra is very lightweight; honestly from the design it looks "heavy" but is not. All in all a beautiful, romantic, well-made bra in a nice deep color that fits great and looks elegant. Read more 207 more words
This is a really unusual bra in green satin with stitching on top of the cups. It looks really lovely and the fabrics are very soft.
Unfortunately, the bra I received was mislabelled - although the swing tag reads 30FF (which is the size I thought I was ordering) the internal tag reads 32FF. The internal tag is definitely correct as it is far too big for me!
NOTE: i did NOT find this to be the same as the Florence, as suggested by Bratabase. i own both. i feel they are close, but definitely different enough that if one fits you the other may not.
this is one of my biggest bra disappointments to date- not nearly as bad as the Tuttir Rouge Frankie incident, but close. ive lusted after this bra for ages, and i finally took the plunge and had it ordered from the UK in a group order, waited a long while for it to arrive, and found out it doesnt fit. i thought that since Florence mostly works for me in 32FF, ...and this is supposedly the same cut, it would also work. nope!
* the cups close off much more sharply than Florence- a major downfall in a bra for me and my tall roots. it leads to an awkward muffin top boob, but at least isnt visible under clothing.
*the band is much firmer than Florence, and both were bought brand new. if i have an extender it's comfortable, but it may take a while to break in as i need it on the last or second set of extender hooks. its a stretchy satin type material, not mesh like Florence. i like the material better, but it means i'd likely need a 34 band.
*the straps are different than Florence as well (which i knew about at the get go) but i actually like them better. they arent set as far out, and they are fully adjustable. the stretchy material is great and soft compared to the sometimes scratchy material of the embroidered Florence straps.
*the gore feels higher and a bit less stable, and so the gore attempts to only tack on one side and overlap the wires as it fights my center fullness. its not a huge issue, but it can cause the fit of the cup side that isn't tacking to skew.
*as with Florence, this cup isnt well suited to my low apex and has some space inside the cup above my nipple. it seems more extreme in this than in Florence, but as both are molded cups it doesnt show under clothes, it just means i dont get as much lift or support as i could in a better fitting cup.
on the plus side:
* NARROW WIRES. HALLELUJAH. 5.5inches you guys, masquerade has all the 5.5inch wire width 32FF bras. if only their bands fit me, augh!
*its gorgeous! gorgeous. prettiest bra ive ever seen, and i may just keep it anyway because ive wanted it so long. the background color is a very pale peach with a mesh overlay that has tiny dots on it. the raspberry colors lace embroidery is lovely and i love where it comes just up over the top edge of the cup. the strap attachment is unique, its a tiny triangle of 2 straps that meet the main strap.
*the materials are fairly comfortable, and i feel like the molded cup will soften with wear.
* i dont notice the embroidery or muffin boob showing through shirts, surprisingly!
im torn on keeping this or selling it. if i can get what i paid back, i may sell it. but, its so pretty and i've pined after it for so long that i may be convinced to keep it despite the less than perfect fit. Read more 447 more words
**UPDATE** wore it for 2 days, and i notice severe gaping in the top half of the R cup where im shallower and wider. visible through shirts and makes me feel very unsupported, so i think i might actually need to alter it before i can put it in my rotation. part of the issue is probably that the apex of most cups is too high for me, my nipple is lower set than they require.
in a nutshell: narrow wires, firm band, high gore, straps more center set and partially adjustable. possibly shallow/small cup.
onto the details! i have a tall breast shape, with narrow roots and breast ...tissue that goes up very high. i have projection that is somewhat shallow (but most shallow friendly bras are too shallow) and almost no upper fullness, so that combination means most balconnetes both gape in the top section but cut in along the top edge.
in any case, the shape and construction is such that, unlike most balconnete shape bras, this one nearly fits! i still do have some gaping in the top section and i can pinch maybe an inch or so of extra fabric. the top edge of the cup presses in but the structure and height of the top edge makes it less noticeable or severe as i get in Cleo type balconettes. neither feel uncomfortable or look noticeable under clothes for once, so im going to call it wearable. ideally i would be able to alter this some way, but for now its good.
im inclined to think the cups run shallow because of the fact that there isn't nearly as much empty space in the upper half of the cup as im used to getting in other balconnetes, but im awful at that sort of assessment so take it with a grain of salt.
the wires on this are NARROW. for me its awesome! ive been trying to find a bra with a 5.5 inch wire width in my size and this is one of the only ones so far. i may seek out more colors and just deal with the shape issues or attempt alterations.
the band on this is made of a satin type material, and its quite firm. i dont think its a type of fabric that ever "breaks in". im between a 34 and 32 band right now, and im wearing this with an extender on the second hook. im okay if this is how i will always have to wear it, and i think the 34F band would be too large.
the straps are only partially adjustable, so that might be an issue for some. the lace on the front half of the straps is a bit itchy, but that may soften with more use. BUT, they arent super far apart which is a total blessing. every other balconnete ive tried has sawed my arms off!
the gore is quite high for me and might be the only part of this that is truly uncomfortable. there is some extra wire channel near the underarm that i may try to shove it into to see if that helps.
im sad to hear rumors of masquerade discontinuing when ive finally found success! hopefully they come out with a shape like the Persia again. i'd love to have it in nudes or a non lace material.
So, when I first tried this bra on, I loved it. It's beautiful, I love the colour and the fabric, and it gives me the most impressive cleavage I have ever had. But the embroidery made it unsuitable for thin summer tops, so I put it away. Pulled it out again recently and, while the front view is still impressive, the side view is less so. Yes, the wires are too narrow for me and I spill out the sides. I tried a 32G, still spilling, more gaping. I'll be listing this.
out of curiosity, what would you be listing this for? ive been curious to try a rhea in my size and this looks like the wire width and depth will be perfect!
Hi there! Hmm, say $45 shipped? That'd be standard non-tracked international shipping in an envelope/bag. I'll throw in the unworn UK size 14 shorts for free if they'd suit. Interested? (I'm about to list several bras--Freya and Fauve half cups and a Tutti Rouge Liliana, all in 32FF--and if you wanted a couple,I could do a multiple-purchase discount.)
oh whoops, didnt even think to ask if you were from the US or not! can i ask about what other bras youll be listing/their prices? $45 is a lot for me right now for one bra sadly :( but if there are a few that might fit, it may end up being worth the postage cost!
I've listed them all now. Have a look and if you find something, we can discuss discounts/postage. :)
im so happy i found this in a 32FF! i have a 34F that was far too large in the band so i never wore it, but this is nearly perfect. look wise, its very pretty, but a bit cheap in materials. some of the threads are already lose (and its brand new) and the gemstone in the center is plastic, which i could do without. the floral embroidery is gorgeous though. it isnt smooth under t shirts because of this, but honestly im so glad to find a bra that mostly fits that i dont care if it shows!
this has a single vertical seam, so its perfect ...for my tall roots and doesnt cut in at all. its a stiff molded cup though, so i do get gaping a bit, especially on my shallower and wider right side. because the apex of my breast is lower than most cups want, i also feel a bit of space in the cup, but nothing serious. its just something i have to deal with.
its one of the very few bras ive managed to find with narrow under wires, so thats the main plus. the straps arent so wide as to saw my arms off, another hard to find plus. the band is snug enough to fit comfortably on the first hook, though because its thin and made of one layer of mesh, it tends to roll onto itself (huuuuge pet peeve of mine augh!).
id love to see this in a more sturdy band, and different colors, but the recent rumors that masquerade is begin discontinued don't leave me very confident https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> guess id better stock up! Read more 172 more words
I feel like the cups run a little large on this bra. The bottom of the cups are shallow, but the top edge is quite gappy on me. Band is true to size and therefore rides up on me. I think a 30FF may fit me better in this style.
I feel like the cup is not carried well in this bra. Like the straps are to far to the sides in stead of more to the center of the bra. I like the look of the bra. The band is quite tight, but I really like that. It is firm, but not to tight.
Though I own quite a lot of padded bras, I've not been overly happy with the fit of any of them. I'm mostly a soft bra type of girl. But this bra is excellent. It does for me, what the Deco seems to do for many others. It's the only plunge bra where my soft boobs doesn't fall out the middle and the cups aren't too tall. I can go a whole day without needing to adjust my boobs. It gives a really nice uplifted and slightlty minimized round shape, not very projected and in-your-face. Sizewise it runs a little generous in the cups, the band is firm and not very eleastic. Sometimes I get the feeling the it rides up a bit, but I think it's more to do with finding the right strap length, than with the band beeing loose. I wear it in a 32FF and it fits snugly on the loosest hooks. I feel no need for the band to be tighter. I own it both in blue and berry.

I like this bra quite a bit. The wires are medium width and almost perfect for me. The center gore is nicely narrow and the cups allow for quite some volume towards the center, which I need and haven't found in too many bras. However, I have very full-on-top boobs and that means even though the cups fit, they cut in a little. The shape it gives me is also a little pointed, but that might well be because the top section is too constricting for me.
