PSA: These are crazy cheap on Amazon right now and there are matching panties. The comfort panties run a bit big/stretchy. They are high rise and the size small measures 27" unstretched at the waistband.
The band is huuuuuuuuge on me but also runs a tad stretchy for a 32. When I pull it reasonably tight, the worst of the cup wrinkling goes away. The silk is more grey than I expected, which is a bonus as I prefer that over white. The cups don't provide a ton of shaping so things aren't going to appear rounded in this bra. I think it is a great set for comfort and/or the bedroom.
Probably depending on size, deeply discounted bras might not be available. This is 3 sister sizes away from my "real" size and I am going to alter the band.
I realized that I forgot to measure this bra before I did alterations so too late for that! For alterations, I shortened the band and added padded cups with darts to secure a good fit. I love the look of Mimi Holliday's narrow unlined shoulder bras with this alteration as it gives great cleavage. The black lace is wispy at the edges and the grey band is an alternative to a strictly black bra. I do like the 32B unlined cups rather than the 28D lined or unlined as they offer a narrower cup width which I need. I've had the bra in rotation for a year now and finds that it hand washes up well.
I am saying good bye to this lovely bra. I shortened the band again when it stretched out and re-tacked a cup insert when the stitches gave way. So lovely and such a good fit! 6 years in the regular rota...
Now that the band is now shortened and the cups lined to fit my 28C measurements, it is a lovely, well-fitting bra. I had the genius idea to put in double hooks next time that I shorten a band since I complain about the single hooks so. The polka-dot silk is such a fun print and the wires soft and narrow.
After band altering and inserting cookies into the cups the bra fits well and looks good under smoother tops. The straps are almost at their full length and I am of petite height. The straps are a bit too wide set for my narrower frame and the decorative hardware on the one strap may be coming off. I think that I will buy a 30C that I have seen online.
I only put good for appearance because I am not partial to solid colour bras. The style, lace, and tiny hearts are really quite lovely. There are lots of this style of bra available in the red and also in the black with white lace on the cups. Soft fabric and an excellent fit. I think that it will give great cleavage once I put in an old padded cup.
I am in love with Mimi Holliday aesthetics, sexy pieces with some sass. I purchased this from Amazon at a steep discount, hence the sister sizing to 32 band. And whilst the band is definitely on the wider side, I'm more than willing to overlook it given the fit everywhere else.
The floral silk is fetching though I would have chosen a muted green for the broad band of lace rather than the hot pink. It would have been nice if the pattern went around the whole band. I some how missed that detail in the photos when on-line shopping. I have a printed Freya bra that continued the print onto the stretchy nylon band fabric to good effect. Like the 2 hooks and the soft underneath of the band. Should alter up nicely. To date, there are a number of these bras still available on ebay.
I ordered a few things from the chocolate chip line during the recent Mimi sale. I got the garter belt, star knickers and the lace boyshort, as well as the triangle bra in an S, which turned out to be slightly too big. I've listed that along with the garters and the star knickers (also too big) on here if you're interested. The boyshort was a bit big too but I managed to alter it to fit me and really wanted to get a matching bra that fit too. The reason I'm selling the other knickers is that they're mostly made of the incredibly ...thin "nude flash" fabric, which I'm really afraid of ruining. And the garters fit but look way better with the star knickers than with the boyshort.
Anyhow, they were all sold out of everything on the Mimi site by the time I'd gotten my order, so I got this bra on Asos on sale (but still more expensive than it would've been during the Mimi sale!!! grrrr). I expected the band to be too big, as in too big on the loosest hook, but thought that it would fit on the tightest since 32s usually do. Wrong. The band has 4 hooks, and even on the tightest it's a bit too loose. Then I measured it and saw that it stretches to 34 and it makes sense now.
I didn't find out about the brand until joining this site a couple of months ago and had read that their sizing had changed (to run larger) a couple of years ago, but I thought it was just in the cup depth. While I have no personal experience with their older stuff, the xs in panties was also shockingly big (I'm usually an S in panties, only occasionally an xs).
It's a beautiful bra though and I'll be keeping it to go with the boyshorts. Also, shoulder styles are great for me in terms of evening things out. But if I order from them again I'm definitely gonna have to do a 30 or maybe even a 28. Read more 259 more words
Another oddball fit,but as expected ordering a 32B (I was going to try 30C,but they were out of stock). This is my first time trying 'sister sizes'. I think maybe if they had this in 28D it would fit. The band is a little looser than I'd prefer, and of course the right cup is not filled and there's a pretty large gap. However my left breast fills it out almost perfect. If the band wasn't a 32 I'd keep it and try to alter the right cup to fit somehow. The gore almost tacks but not quite. Sorry for the nipple-y pictures, surprisingly under a shirt it wasn't very ...noticeable.It's such a gorgeous bra I don't want to return it. I think the comfort style is great for my shape though,if the top part of the cup was just a few smidgens shorter where I didn't have to worry about filling it out.
I love this print! I took a chance and sized up (because it was end of season sale and still available) and since it was a balconette it worked for me. The center wires dig in after a long day but its a pretty print that works under my thin tops.
Thanks! I found a 32F for $16 in another style. For science, of course.... :-)
