I bought it because I loved it in pictures, but when it arrived I was disappointed by the look and feel. First off, it arrived in one of those cheap crinkly cellophane packets (the manufacturer's packaging, not the retailer's), which I didn't expect from a bra that usually costs a lot (I got it on sale). The colour didn't quite match the promotional photos- it's more purplish than fuchsia, not good news for someone like me who loves pink but doesn't get along with purple. The patterned material appeared to have a sheen in pictures, but was actually matte, and it seemed flimsy. The stitches ...attaching the straps to the cups were messy. And the big bow and rose on the center gore seemed less "bold design choice" than "we have all these bows and roses in stock, whatever shall we do with them?"
Then I put it on.
It's not a textbook fit- it's the only bra I've bought that doesn't lie flat against my center gore, and I spill out of the top ever so slightly after a few hours and need to readjust- but it is soooo comfortable. The padding is light as can be, and very smooth. The shape is lovely and rounded- quite unexpected from the way it looks off. It lifts and supports nicely. It goes well under fairly light clothing- there's one vertical seam, but it doesn't show much. The first time I wore it, I didn't want to take it off when I got home from work after a long day. I ended up putting it back on to wear around the house after my shower. It's stayed comfortable through many more long days.
The band is OK- I could probably have gone for a 30 if they made a 30GG. The cups run small- I only have one other 32G, the Parfait Charlotte which is known to run small, and these cups are a smidge smaller.
Quite unexpectedly, this has become one of my most often worn bras. Read more 229 more words
The first thing that struck me about this bra was is cuteness. I bought it in the yellow/white colorway and it is almost too cute for me to handle. This bra is generally comfortable, with a firm band. Its major problem is its annoying too-long gores, which poke occasionally throughout the day and incessantly if I am laying down. The straps are also almost too long for me, and slip off very occasionally. (I'm about 5'3".) Modifications will be made, but I'll definitely be keeping it.
Edit: After months of having this bra and making some modifications to the underwire, it's become my favorite bra. If you are petite and/or ...find the wires to be wide, you can tweak the wires in order to keep them from stabbing. I bent both wires in the middle of the cups to make them form a curve that points out from the body (see link), and bent the outer sides of the wires inward to make the wire tops bend away from my chest and armpits. The bra is now finally worth keeping.
Quite nice bra, the band was perfect for 73cm under the bust. Cups were tiny bit too small and very tight on the top of the cups.. The top of the cups is covered with lovely velvet ribbon. The shape and lift is similar to CK unpadded bras - I don't like it,
Red "Paris Moulin" version with sheer cheetah print bows.
Band fits somewhat better than 30G (http://bra.pe/R4o/) although it can be fastened on the final hook and I can still take a deep breath so I believe it is looser than necessary for proper support. The G-cup fits and covers quite nicely but the wing height is far too tall and cuts into underneath my arm uncomfortably. This measures 10cm exact where the wing is sewn. Too bad ASOS doesn't carry a 30GG because I would likely have exchanged for and kept that.
30G: * band very tight but could use an extender for first few months while it stretches * balcony style/cup size appears to 'cut in' to shape, less nice overall shape under a shirt
32G: * band too big: firm yet wearable on final hook * balcony style/cup appears with proper coverage under shirt
