I have shallow and wide boobs, and while this is an ~ok fit, I have tried on enough different styles to know this one is not worth keeping.
Pros: The band is quite firm for a 30. Most of the time, I have to wear 30s on the tightest hook when new - this one would fit someone who measures for a 28. Also, it is very pretty as a potential t-shirt bra, as it is smooth under clothes (though the yellow is more canary/mustard than I expected from the Nordstrom photo, which made it look more chartreuse).
The main reason I will not be keeping it is because the countoured cups slightly cut into my breast tissue, giving minor quad-boob. This is evident when the mesh/lace is pulled down. I am not terribly surprised, given that it's a moulded one-piece cup, and with my very shallow shape, I do best with cups that have 2 vertical seams.
The fabric of this bra is very soft. It doesn't show under t-shirts, but it's cuter than the usual t-shirt bra. Feels comfy too. Cup size runs small. Band is true to size. Wires are wide enough for my wide breasts.
The bra that convinced me I’m on the right track after getting my new measurements and sizing (30 F in UK). The band made audible stretching noises when I fastened it, and felt tighter than is comfortable. The cups wrinkled at the top and in the center of each cup. All this could have been overlooked if the edge of the cups didn’t dig into my underarm area. I ordered online and will be returning this one, but willing to try a sister size!
I was excited to get this bra. I found a boutique which is probably the only one like it in San Antonio. I'd been wanting it for so long but wasn't ready to spend the money til I found my perfect size. Then I ended up overpaying but I am happy to support local business. I was a little disappointed after wearing it a few times. I don't fill the bottom of the cups to well so there is some wrinkling. The band is quite tight. Maybe something I need to get used to after wearing the wrong size my whole life. The fabric near my armpit digs and chaffs when I reach over one arm to the other. It's not as comfy ad I expected. Otherwise it looks good and works. I probably won't buy another Natori bra though. Which sucks because I wanted to support this brand so dearly after learning about its history.
This is the best fitting bra I've tried to date. I have it in three colors (nude, black, light pink) and I definitely will be getting more. I have shallow, wide-rooted breasts with fairly even distribution (some say I may be slightly full on top). I am glad that the band on this runs a little firm. My underbust is 28" snug and 27.5" tight; I haven't found a 28 band that wasn't painful for me so a firmer 30 band is favorable for me. I also have a rather bony sternum, so I really do enjoy the lower gore on this one.
I'm ...not sure if this bra runs small in the cup, as my overbust measures 34.5 inches. I also tried this bra in a 30D, which resulted in quadboobing (which wasn't noticeable until I moved the mesh overlay out of the way) and band distortion. The 30DD gives me none of those issues while still remaining supportive, comfortable, and pretty.
If I were to nitpick about something, I feel like the triangular overlay comes up higher than it was designed to. I think this has more to do with my build (petite, long torso, high set breasts) and not the bra itself. The pics I've added show some wrinkling of the cup. That's only the mesh overlay and I was able to pull it up to get rid of the wrinkle. Overall, I really like how this bra fits me! Read more 144 more words
This bra is a plunge style and not made for wide set shallow breasts. I bought it because it came in my band size of 30. Cups run small. I sized up to DD. still get side boob. I trued the DDD but experienced gaping at top of cup.
The discomfort from the center gore is an immediate problem that I noticed as soon as I put the bra on. It's what keeps me from wearing it. I believe this could stem from a few issues:
The gore is too low. I noticed my other bras that have a slightly better fit have higher gores and the underwire comes up higher.
The cups are too shallow for me. This one is very shallow compared to many others I have tried. I noticed the center gore appears to lift away from me slightly.
The the band is too big for me. I measure at an underbust right under 26". This band runs tighter than many 30 bands. It may work for someone typically in a 28 band, but I still think it stretches too much for me.
I bought this bra back when I was a different size, but I no longer have those measurements sadly. I do believe the band might run tighter than a typical 30 band, as I was being sized into 28/30 bands at the time. I am positive I measured in over 28 inches but under 29 inches at the time. It was never the best fit for me and tended to gap at the top a little, but never enough to be a huge issue. I wouldn't recommend for people full on bottom. It was comfortable and looked great under clothes though! Also, the material is wonderful if you have sensitivity issues to certain fabrics. This bra didn't ever really bother me.
A very nice balance of comfortable and pretty. Comfortable fabrics. I don't think the lace texture shows through clothing. I like that the lace overlay extends past the cup and helps contain everything and disguise size differences between breasts. The band is quite stretchy so not good for me because I am looking for 28 bands but fudging it with some 30s. Fairly shallow
I like the fit except I do wish it had more support/coverage in the center. I really love that the band is quite firm as I am sizing up into a 30, instead of a preferred 28.
The best fitting bra I've found yet. I am a shallow, wide rooted 28e/30dd. The 30dd is a great fit. It's pretty tight new, but a couple weeks with a bra extender makes it comfortable enough.
March 2022: wore this btw to death and threw it away! A first and a testament to how much I loved it
Although I have a shallow shape, I'm not shallow enough for this bra. I have too much projection or fullness on the bottom near the wires for this bra to fit me properly.
This bra is soft, comfortable, and pretty. It looks OK on because of the molded cups, but it's a little shallow for me and the wires ride a bit below my IMF. Straps slide off my shoulder. Would recommend for someone who doesn't need immediate projection.
So, these bras are 100% made for people with shallow projection. Im usually either a 30D or 30DD based on brand, and while the D squishes my boobs and gets super uncomfortable, the DD is only moderately better in that sense and gapes at the top as well. Bruised my sternum too unless I bent the wires outward.
Wore them regularly for a good while before I grew more tho, and they lasted me literal years of use before even getting to the third hook. So if they fit and you stay the same size, they'll last.
Overall I can't recommend them to anyone with my size and shape, but they're probably OK for anyone shallower.
I have previously tried this in 30D and found it too small, but was finally able to get my hands on 30DD. However, this size didn't quite work for me either, though it didn't have as many issues as Feathers Contour does for me in 30DD, since this doesn't go up as high under the arms as it is not a plunge cut.
Like all Natori bras, this has a very stretchy band, feels very comfortable, but doesn't provide any shaping or support. The construction of the cup is a little different from Feathers though, and I felt that this suited me slightly better. The cup ...is almost as shallow as Feathers, but doesn't flatten me out quite as much. I found that 30DD fit much better for me in terms of overall cup shape and size compared to the rest of the contour bras from this line, but I felt there was a bit of excess right around the underwire that didn't quite sit right. Basically, the majority of the cup shape and depth was fine, but I would need to shave a little extra off of the cup near the underwire to make it an ideal fit. I also found that the band still felt too flimsy and unsupportive, and made the cup issue worse.
Natori plunge bras would be best suited for small cup sizes that don't need much support and have a natural rounded shape. This would not be a good fit for very wide-set, east-west, extremely FOB/shallow on top, droopy, or pendulous shapes. This is strictly a comfort bra and not one that provides shaping or firm support. Would be great to wear while traveling or lounging around the house! Read more 184 more words
The cups are sheer and offer no headlight coverage. Great for a summer bra because of those things. The band is loose for a 30, which is great for me since I have a 31" under bust. The cups are stretchy and accommodate my unevenness. I own the contour version and this is exactly the same only without the contour lining.
Natori Cherry Blossom is a newer take on the classic Natori Feathers Plunge, and while this bra shares a similar cut, there are some features unique to Cherry Blossom that made it worthwhile for me to try despite Feathers Plunge not working out for me.
The bra has a lightly molded foam cup that is soft, flexible, and comfortable, overlaid with open mesh and a floral design. This style has a convertible J hook option to allow the bra to be worn as a racerback. Since Feathers Plunge was far too small for me in a 30D and I had tried this style in a 30D in ...store and had the same issue with the shallowness of the cup, I decided to order a 30DD to try.
30DD in Cherry Blossom does fit me better than Feathers Plunge, and the cups here are close to fitting. However, the cups are slightly too wide for me near the underarms, so I can feel a bit of empty space between the underwire and my body. It's not much though, and the soft mesh overlay means that the cups sit nicely on me and fit along the root.
The main problem in this bra though is that it is not designed for petite wearers. Because this is a high apex style, the lace overlay of the cup extends a good 5" higher than the foam cup, thus shortening the available strap length by at least this much. I had to shorten the straps completely in order to get this bra to fit, which meant the J hook converter ended up in the front of the bra on me. This completely defeats the purpose of this feature, so only people with a torso size in a certain range could take advantage of the J hook feature. Also, going up in size from 30D to 30DD means that the outer portion of the cups under the arms tends to come up too high on me and chafe.
The one positive note regarding this bra is that the band, though appearing to be made out of the same flimsy lace as all Natori bras, actually feels decently firm and supportive. It's not the most secure band I've ever tried, but it certainly doesn't ride up and move around like many other ones from the line.
This is pretty close to fitting, yet the comfort issues make this not a suitable bra for petite wearers of my size. Still, I can see this bra working for others, and would definitely recommend it over the Feathers Plunge. Just be wary of the "nude" option-- the color "Cafe" is a greyish nude that comes off kind of dead looking. There are better nude shades out there. Read more 356 more words
In my experience, Natori makes really comfortable bras for smaller cup sizes, but the bras lack in support and shaping. Every Natori bra I've tried has a very stretchy band, cups that run on the shallow side, and give a very "natural" shape. This makes it a great option for those who prioritize comfort, but you'll have to sacrifice the support you get from a truly well-fitting bra.
The Feathers Contour Plunge is a popular style that for some reason never appealed to me before, but I noticed a friend wearing this as a maternity bra and thought maybe it would be a good comfort option for ...me as it's truly lightly lined. I haven't had success with unlined Natori bras so far since their stretch lace is so overly stretchy they provide no support, and I don't really like molded cups, so I was intrigued.
I started with a 30D and found that the cups are too shallow for me, flattening me out entirely. The 30DD is a better depth for me, but there's too much empty space in the upper cup, and the sides of the cup by the armpit come up too high on me. The empty portion of the cup is very visible when I move, and I can see the foam lining collapse on itself. In addition, while the band measures small, it is definitely very stretchy as the wings are made of stretch lace, and I feel it provides very little support.
On the positive side, I do find this bra extremely comfortable, and I would definitely like to wear a style like this while traveling. It sits nicely under clothing, and the true deep plunge makes it perfect under tops where my balconnettes don't work.
I would recommend this bra for small cup sizes that are wide and shallow, for people who don't need much support and would be fine with a flimsy band. Due to the plunge cut, it should work for different root shapes. I would not recommend this for breasts that need a lot of lifting or are extremely wide set and east-west, as the plunge cut could make you look really empty in the middle. Read more 263 more words
The fabric and band of this bra were so comfortable, I really wanted it to work. Unfortunately it was about a cup size too small for me, though the band was great. I’ll try it again in the next size up, and see if that is a better match. The jersey fabric was so soft, I’m hoping there’s a size that will work for me.
I saw this at Nordstrom Rack. I didn't really expect this bra to fit. I also tried on a 30DDD but my smaller breast was just too small for those wires. The band is so comfortable, smooth and tight.
If the gore wasn't too high for me (it's only 1" but that's about 0.5" too much for me), it would actually lay flat. I'll mostly be wearing this as a sleeping bra so that won't matter as much.
Cup material is lighter than average so watch out if you are concerned about looking pokey.
The straps are pretty and I actually did not have to adjust all the way as I sadly do in many bras. Straps cannot criss cross or come off.
This is a lovely bra on you, too. I like the delicate color.
