This bra has zero support. The mesh is super stretchy, will work on very shallow and firm breasts. A good bra for smaller sizes that are shallow that want an unpadded bra. Very sheer. Band is a little loose, I would wear it on the second hook, so size down in the band if you like them snug/firm.
It sounds like it might work for me (or in grand Natori feathers tradition, be accommodating enough to hide minor fit issues). Great!
Wait, it kind of sounds like they just took the molded bit out of the cup. Is that inaccurate?
um, i'm not sure, i thought that also, i would need a 32DD in the contour, but the 32D wires "fit" sort of, so I'd say go a cup size down in cup as well.
i already returned the bra because it fit me so horribly, haha ;)
The embroidery on that band is so pretty!
Are there NO seams in that cup at all, just the side sling? That's... different.
It looks so pretty! Maybe they should´ve unlined it with some firmer fabric for more support :-/
yep, no seams at all on the cups, just molded mesh fabric. yeah, a firmer mesh in general would have been ideal, even with the band as tight as it goes and shoulder straps tight, still zero support and so surprisingly shallow... :/
I've found that all the Natori styles I've tried (or tried on) have super stretchy bands, additionally, as far as shallowness, the only two styles I own are the least shallow of their t-shirt styles. I've tried a couple others and the lack of room for my boobs in the bottom of the cups was surprising. There was so little room that I was quadding, with overflow at the top and on the sides. Needless to say I left those in the dressing room. :P It was just so weird how different the fit was compared to the ones I have!
Great info, Laurizle! I actually need a 40C, and this bra only goes to 38 band. But if I can size down, perfect. And if the cup size needs to be sized down, I won't have to sister size, so 38C should work. I am always on the lookout for bras that fit shallow breasts. Thanks!
I, too, am a 40C, who can wear some 38C's . Mine are shallow and firm, and the loose band is perfect for me. Thanks for the tip and the advice.
I'm looking for a good strapless bra, and I love the regular Natori Feathers bra. Surely the strapless Feathers would at least kind of, somewhat fit? Ha! Ha ha ha HA! No. The band is okay; I usually wear a 30 but the 32 was fine in this bra, both snug enough and stretchy enough. The cup volume was more or less okay, but the shape is ridiculous on me: the cups are too tall and way too closed on top for my tall roots, so even with my small shallow boobs there's tissue folding over on top. Good for entertainment value only; once I stop laughing I guess I have to keep looking for a strapless thing that fits.
The legendary Natori Feathers...I finally went to Nordstrom to try my usual 30D, but the 32D is definitely the right size for me in this bra -- it's just the wrong shape and cut for me entirely. I wonder if there's a similar bra that isn't quite so shallow? I love the way it's made, with the stretchy mesh and lace overlaying the cups; it does wonderful things for fit, no gapping at all ever! Sigh. And so comfortable, such lovely details, but I feel like it makes my nipples point out toward opposite sides of the room and smooshes my boobs back under my armpits. Apparently I'm not as shallow-shaped as I thought. The never-ending bra journey....continues!
This bra was actually a pretty good fit for me, but it's the wrong shape. Definitely cut for more projected breasts, the bra gave me a pointy shape and cut in a little too close on top. Not a good bra for those in the shallow spectrum! This is an unlined bra - the cups are made of a beautiful white lace backed with a layer of beige fabric. The wings are made out of a white, satin-like fabric and are also lined with beige. The cups are made with a stretch lace, so I think the fit could be pretty forgiving.
85% nylon, 15% spandex. That's not that different from most other bras, right? I mean, the tag does make sure to point out that it's Tactel® Nylon and Lycra® Spandex, but we all know that brand names don't usually mean anything. I look at the rest of the tag: the band is made from nylon, rayon, and spandex, and the cup linings are also nylon and spandex. None of this seems out of the ordinary to me. So how on earth does this bra feel so amazing?
When the fitter put it on me, she said "this bra feels like butter". Not quite, but very very close. After a ...few minutes it's harder to remember, but every time I put it on I'm surprised by how soft and how smooth this bra feels against my skin, not to mention how cute it is. A pretty blue with cyan and blue lace on the straps, and a tiny gold medallion on the gore, this bra makes me feel like a mermaid. The matching boyshorts feel amazing as well, made of those same nylon and spandex brands, with lace at the top and around the leg holes - the lace is mildly uncomfortable, but beautiful.
As to the fit of the bra, it's not the slightest bit uncomfortable. It is in my sister size of 32D, but I'm wearing it on the loosest hook and everything is staying where it ought to be. When I slouch, the cups come forward the tiniest bit right above the gore, but the top stays mostly in place, and I shouldn't be slouching anyway!
This bra hides nicely under all my t-shirts, but doesn't do too much for maximizing cleavage - it's lightly padded all over the cup. A good everyday bra that's also something sexy. I probably wouldn't get another one, though, unless it was cheaper - at $70 it was in the middle of the price range of the bras the fitter brought me. It's a wonderful bra, though, and I look forward to some quality time with it. Read more 235 more words
The molded cups seem to be filled up nicely in this bra. I haven’t noticed any wrinkles suggesting excess fabric or too much breast tissue, yet. The band is really stretchy, but it’s very comfortable. The thing fabric of the side panels makes me question the durability of this design but I’ll be wearing it as long as I can.
I have never worn this bra outside of the change room at the store I bought it from. I thought it was the right fit but it wasn't. It has beautiful lace and will last a long time.
This bra is so comfortable. I wear it as an everyday bra. The band is nice and firm, and I need help putting it on, but after it's on it doesn't feel too tight. Looks good under thick knit sweaters. The shoulder straps are not elastic so they have old school hooks. They fit great on the longest setting. The straps are very wide which is great on my sensitive shoulders. Will buy more in other colors. I'm not sure how this is suppose to be a sport bra as the cups are very stretchy and my breasts would bounce too much for any form of exercise other than walking. The band is too tight for yoga, etc.
At first this bra fit poorly. The band felt tight and the cups were too small for me. As I wore it in it began fitting really well and I love it. It became more comfortable over time.
Cute bra, but not my ideal size or shape. Cups are tall and full coverage, so it probably wouldn't work for me anyway. The band fits a bit tight - 30-31" maybe.
I'm not very happy with this bra. At first, when I tried it on in the fitting room, it seemed fine. Maybe that was just the hope talking, but it seemed fine. Flash foward to wearing it at home, not so fine. First I'll describe my boobs, then get into what worked and what didn't. But to be fair, I will say the bra helper at the store told me at least twice (maybe three?) that one of the other bras fit me better, which maybe should have been the bra I should have bought, but now I'll never know (until, and if, I get the time and ...money to go buy that other bra, which is unlikely)
My boobs, for a lack of a better term are tricky. They are tricky in the fact that they're tricky to please. They are wide rooted, full on the bottom, low on the chest, and are somewhat shallow. It most places I'm a 34b or 32c (and even a d in some places, like nordstrom) My band size is __ and band cup size is ___. I also have wide shoulders. Another thing I'll say is that I'm sensitive to textures and pressure, and have nerve issues with my brachial plexus, which I'm starting to realize means no plain straps, only racer backs (so the strap doesn't fall on my brachial plexus and artery, which is another thing: I have circulation issues and back/shoulder issues too... probably from wearing crappy bras for almost 2 decades now) So with that in mind, here's what worked and what didn't:
What worked: the cups, hallelujah, the cups! they fit me almost EXACTLY. the wire didn't poke anywhere, and covered the side of my wide root boob too. the gore was great, and lie flat and wasn't too itchy, pokey, or anything, really. Since im east/west, the demi covered my nips, which was also great, and the bra made me stand up just the taddest bit straighter. Also, my boobs look hella fine in them which made me feel like a godess for like, aproximately 10 minutes. But that's basically where the pluses end.
what didn't work: strapps!! they BARELY adjusted to my length, and they were REALLY WIDE, even though i feel i already have pretty wide shoulders for my body! The straps ended up sitting on/digging into my brachial plexus and giving me numbness and tingling in my arms and hands(which I already have problems with, I don't want to scare anyone off. its just something I struggle with, so if you do too, and are similar to me, I wouldn't recommend this bra.) and if I tightened them, they gave be shoulder pain/back pain and dug into my shoulders. another thing, this bra was mega tight! the wire under my boobs stayed in place, but almost at the cost of my chest breathing (which I admit, breathing from your chest and not your stomach is unhealthy, but sometimes a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do, and this bra was having none of it). It was also reall itchy on the sides, which, I don't mind that as much, if it fits, but in combination with everything else, I just could not. Finally, to top it all off, it seems to be made pretty cheaply. The top screen/messh fabric on the top part of the cup is only attatched to the cup on the sides, not the whole thing, which might be good for adjusting your boobs into the cup, but it also could get torn up pretty easily.
And on top of it all, I'm not sure I can even return this because its a sales item? I was going to ask the clerk, but got caught up in the moment. :/ If I can though, I will definitely return it.
all in all, I'd give this bra a 3/5 bra fitting experience though, 4/5 because nordstrom seems to be were its at, man
Continuing the search for a fuller-coverage bra for t-shirt purposes, I thought I had a winner with this one. The fit is somewhat too big on my smaller side, but not so much that it shows; the silhouette is rounder and flatter than with my favorite Feathers 30D, but I can live with that too. The red color is bright, but not eye-popping, and I like the simple but not too plain styling. Unfortunately, after cutting the tags off and wearing the bra the first day, the boning on the band under my arm started digging into me, and by the day's end I couldn't ...wait to get out of the bra again. Oh, well. It was a good try.
Update: I came back to this bra after a month of looking at it in my drawer and wishing it would feel better, and this time it seems actually okay. I've adjusted the side boning in its channels a little, and I have to leave the band a little looser than I otherwise would like, but that seems to work well enough for now. Read more 81 more words
I've been wanting to try some fuller-coverage bras to supplement my pile of Feathers, but this one doesn't quite do it. The fit is comfortable enough, but it does nothing to correct the ski-slope contours of my shallow, soft, somewhat deflated breasts. If I do a very vigorous swoop-and-scoop, then I get quad-boob on the large side instead. Maybe I'll go back to a plunge style.
I had this is 30D, which was small in both band and cup, so I got a 32D- turns out the inner cup under the lace was supposed to cover more than your nipples. I thought it was supposed to fit like a quarter cup from wearing the 30D... Oops. The cups are still wide though, I just wish it was narrower and more projected. Even sized up my boobs shift the bra down because there's no room.
This bra is incredibly comfortable with the perfect amount of padding on the cups. The straps don't dig into my armpits painfully and it stays in place very comfortably.
This bra would be a 10/10 IF they had more than one hook on the back. I have an active job and was assured that this bra would be fine for it. Within 3 weeks of owning it the hook started pulling out. I reinforced it with thread and looked online - apparently it's because it's got a single hook so all the pressure is on it. I'm so annoyed! Now I have to find another bra that will be able to hold up to my lifestyle and won't feel like it's held together on a wing and a prayer. This bra would have been perfect if they just added another darn hook.
Given the visual similarities to Natori Feathers Contour Plunge (730023) I thought the fit would also be great. However, the band on this bra is a layer of lace over a layer of mesh, which gives it a much firmer and tighter band.
On me, the extra pressure warped the molded cups so that they flattened along the underwire and billowed along the top. A 32DD probably would have fit better since my ideal size is closer to 30DD. (I'm just not ready to go directly to that snug of a band after spending 20 years wearing 34s!)
Luckily, an extender made the bra serviceable under scrubs; not sure I would wear it under anything fitted.
Wow, it came fast!
It sounds like it might work for me (or in grand Natori feathers tradition, be accommodating enough to hide minor fit issues). Great!
Wait, it kind of sounds like they just took the molded bit out of the cup. Is that inaccurate?
