My usual size is 40F in UK sizing. My shape is: very wide roots, short/med root height, close set, med projection, slightly center-full, and functionally full-on-bottom. I bought the largest size amazon had available for this bra, which was 40DDD US sizing, which should translate to 40E UK. I figured slightly smaller cups might be helpful for a sports bra. Well...the band was too small, I had to use an extender so the wires did not distort, and yet it also wasn't firm enough to really encapsulate my boobs. The band rolled up and would not stay flat on my ribcage fat. The wires were too narrow, so ... my boobs kept escaping on the sides. The gore did not tack, which could be because the cups were too small, but my close-set/center-fullness probably contributed as well. The bra is made of an inner mesh layer (very comfortable and breathable), and an outer layer, but since these two are not sewn together in the middle of the cup, there were a lot of wrinkles. It definitely felt soft on my skin though, so it might be good for people with sensory concerns. If the band fit, it would make a decent bralette, but is not nearly supportive enough to be used as a sports bra for my size and shape. Perhaps people with a smaller band and bust would find it supportive enough. I'm bummed it doesn't work for me because it has the right amount of coverage, and most of the underwire sports bras I have seen are too tall/too much full coverage for me.
