    Used to fit

I THINK I MAY HAVE FOUND MY HOLY GRAIL BRA! Or I'm a lot closer, anyway. I have never experienced a fit so perfect.
I fill the cups completely with the top edge making a smooth line, and the center gore lies flat against my sternum. The band never rides up even though I can fit a whole fist under it.
Whether what I have spilling out the sides -- as you can see in the back shot -- is escaped breast tissue or just fat, is debatable. But the underwire's placement is comfortable. My only concern so far is they way ... my belly causes the lace on the bottom edges of the cups to curl up at the bottom (you can see this in the front shot). I am open to suggestions on what to do about that.
I must also note that is comfortable lying down, which is important to me because I like to recline in order to relax. In my current living situation, that usually means just lying in bed.
Thank you, Bratabase! The last time I tried to get measured at a store, the woman doing so pronounced me a "big B." I had to take off my shirt to prove to her that I was wearing (and pushing out the center gore on) a DD-cup and she practically fell over in shock. Who knows how long getting to this size/cut combination would have taken without this website.

Omg. What was she trying to throw you in??? A 40B?????? I'm so happy you're finally comfortable and supported. You should see the way people look at me when I say I'm a 28D/DD...and I'm flat chested!

I have avoided trying the andora because of that lace/belly issue. I try to only buy bras with a smooth bottom edge

    • 2

I've had luck cutting the lace off the bottom of bra bands.

LeProfessor "Throw you in", is the perfect phrase for it. She tried to toss drakefish chest in some (any) thing then collect her paycheck! This is why I give the side eye to so many "fitters."

I'm glad you found a fit that works well for you! It's a great feeling after so many mis-fits! I also have the same problem with bottom lace because my ribcage flares out. I'm not sure there's an answer. I just try to ignore it.

Me too EmmaOh , lol. Very few fitters actually know what they're doing. I also wanted to note that I am quite thin and lace that extends from the bottom of bras curls up from my tummy too! I agree with Brash5 , I just try to ignore it. It's not like it is visible under clothing.
And hey, at least your 'holy grail' is still in production! Mine has been discontinued a LONG time (Mimi Holliday 28D & Claudette). Lol

    • I'm short-waisted (although I'm also 5'10") and honestly thought the lace would bug me - but it doesn't. It does curl up sometimes but I don't notice at all. It's also my holy grail bra.

Too much quad boob. Cup much too low on sides, almost no side support near armpits at all. I returned this bra.

    SOOOO TIGHT

Cant's judge it because it's too tight even with an extender. Right now I am "standard" a 36 band, 38 in Panache/Polish. This is a 32/34 imo. It feels itchy also, maybe that would go away. Too bad; it's lovely and the cups fit great. I love that Panache doesn't put the straps in my armpits!!!

I'm still trying to find my perfect size, but I feel like 36FF should have been it. The band was too tight on the loosest setting. The straps felt a little too skinny and dug into my shoulders. I was afraid for the lace on the cup, although it was beautiful and soft, I was worried that it would wear out or tear quickly. The nursing clasps seem to be very good however.

I had actually ordered a Freya 36FF nursing bra on eBay and this one came to me by mistake. I will be returning it and hope that the Freya doesn't fit so tightly.

Just to let you know that those nursing clasps must be self-made as this model isn't a genuine nursing bra.

    • Oh, look at that - I can see now that it was a good nursing bra conversion. Thanks for pointing that out.

    • You're welcome!

    - Band is comfortable, and I like that this bra also has a wider band on the sides, although the band does come up a bit high under my arm and digs in a bit
    - Underwire is close to my breast root
    - Straps are comfortable, and I like the way that they kind of cut in at the top of the cup, relieving my shoulders
    - I think that the cups fit well. There is only a slight gap near the straps if I slouch or lean forward
    - The gore lies flat and is comfortable
    - The lace near the edges looks pretty, but it is a little rough (although I did not wash the bra), and I have sensitive skin

The best thing about the Andorra, for me, is the stretch lace at the top of the cup. It's forgiving. I was advised to order up one cup size for the Andorra, and I think that I might have ended up with a bra too loose on top if the lace wasn't stretchy! This isn't the first bra that I grab out of my drawer as the gore is quite high and feels a fit pokey for awhile - maybe I'd have been better offer in the plunge version. Also, in this size, this bra slips down from my inframammary fold a bit after several hours of wear, so it might not have enough immediate projection in the bottom for my shape. My Andorra is black.
