ROCHA: IS FOR PETITES, SHORT ROOTS, OR WTF? STAY TUNED AS THE SAGA CONTINUES
1 WEEK UPDATE: Finally sliced through Rocha's tight stitching and replaced straps with temporary tabs so I can use the straps from my Freya Icon. Confirming straps in this size run a scant foot long max.
Worn for half hour we find the Typical Panache Problems:
-Too-tall ... armscye that cuts into the shoulder (despite being extra deeply curved!), CHECK
-Oddly flattening wall-of-side support panel that makes a weird vertical internal quadding line
-Closed in upper cups that aren't stretchy enough for even upper breasts
-Loads of space in the very center of cup, but the outer thirds are more compressive and flattening which leads to-
THE WIRES
PANACHE BABY WHAT R U DOING.
EVEN MY PARTNER IS SHOOK "WHY ARE THEY USING ACTUAL RAW GUILLOTINE BLADES?
STOP. FFS. RIGHT NOW.
Can't tell whether I'm dealing with a cup sized too small/tall as usual, or something truly deep enough to actually fit very well once I scale out all the non-petite friendly junk in the scaling. (for reference waist, ribs and armscye are kids size 12, with womans' size 16 shoulders- extremely short wide breast shape).
Despite the experimental hassle of ongoing surgery there's a LOT of features going for this style that makes it a great option for the shorter and fuller among us (Ellace fans, are you listening?)
I'm now off to complete the following modifications:
-Underwire swap (U flexi wires from Bra Builders- these are effing amazing if you are looking for that barely there polish style 'invisible' feel)
-Wire overlap
-Gore narrow
-Armscye curveout (even tho she really do be accommodating for less side-set/side-full people)
-Picking out the soft stretch band sewn into the top of the stretch lace upper band.
Because the upper gore stabs (bottom of wire being pushed out?), wires distort and sit over the inner breast at gore, gore being too wide pushes the cups down, the top is too closed in to comfortably tolerate digging into upper breast from the underwire dancing, and hah of course my armpit boobs being shoved up into the armscye which squishes into them and presses everything out into tail of spence is a huge oh hell nah.
STAY TUNED (god I am so tirrrrred)
(back to our previously scheduled review- first impressions)
The cups seem to match the measurements, but.... UGH. These straps are about 6" too short to do anything with. The entire bra is dragged WAY up into my armpits and super high on my chest negating the low cut and deep facets that make it special -_-
I already have self-supporting, very high set breasts on a ***very*** short torso. But apparently Rocha believe the only body type for this boob shape is ultra petite perfectly child-sized bodies. On my tiny torso with lanky frame, this is totally a torture device.
Straps must be completely replaced just to see if this even fits /FML
At least there is a hidden wing for cup stabilization inside the smooth, dual layered powermesh & knit band. And this plush triple hook closure is SO NICE! The fashion outer layer is super posh and am in love with the super rounded cutout rise from outer cup to straps. When cups are held facing down, there is a whole lot of immediate depth going on front & center, I don't see that a lot with major brands in fuller cuts.
