  1. Envy Balconnet Bra (7285)

    Didn't fit

Well, I gave a 28:12 UK bra a try. Not a total success but not a total fail either.

My shape: full on top, short roots, high set, very narrow/borderline Omega shaped, space between breasts, very soft breast tissue, pendulous, evenish to somewhat center fullness (5'1, short torso, store a lot of fat in my ribcage)

I measure 28 inches around exactly snug as of right now, so I'm your litmus test for how true to size a band is. The Envy is a little small, stretching to 27.5 inches--its bands are also a bit small in the 30s I've tried. My break the tape measurement is 27 ... inches, so I can definitely get this bra on my body, but it starts to hurt my back a little bit after a few minutes of wear. I'll definitely be wearing it with an extender until it stretches out that extra half an inch. You can see in the pictures that, because this bra is too small in the band, it pulls back and distorts the wires. In my experience, the Envy just does this a little bit anyway, but it's definitely worse with this size. Without an extender, the bra flattens my boobs and pulls them to my sides quite a bit. However, even though the extender helps, this still occurs when I add that extra half an inch to an inch of length onto the band: as you can see, the wires are wider than the rest of the band is long, and the bra can't sit flat as a result. I think this size is just by design going to do weird things with its wires. This is actually why I'm sharing this as an adventure--beware if you're buying an Envy with a smaller band size and bigger cup size!

Otherwise, my usual comments on the Envy. See my review for 30H - Panache » Envy Balconnet Bra (7285) . The wires are too wide, not enough projection, etc, but I find that I enjoy the Envy anyway (even this one with the too small band, I wore it around today with an extender). It does seem that I have a higher tolerance for firm and tall wires than a good amount of other people, though.

Also, I LOVE this purple. I've already had such a good time flashing these straps!

  2. Confetti Underwire (4071)

There are several things about the Confetti which I love - it's small and sheer, optically minimising the boobs and making it an awesome choice for heat waves. I'm also a big fan of the rounded and uplifting shape it gives from the side and it is quite a pretty thing with all the floral embroidery and whatnot.

The straps are only semi-adustable, but still adjusted long enough for me. Also, the bra is sold as ivory, but I'd say it was lighter - I'd call it off-white rather than ivory.

Although the bra fits me very well and when I breathe out, the cups seem even a little larger, ... I got a little quadraboob after wearing the bra all day long and bending up and down a lot (spring cleaning the flat). It's also not a bra to run aroun in https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt=":D" /> (fixed this in the end by stitching the wide center gore together - boobs don't escape anymore). I'm tempted to try a 28J next time I order the Confetti (because I'm definitely getting a black version!) to see how it works out... but as it is, this size fits fine as well.

(EDIT: After wearing it for a few months, the cups stretched and now fit me absolutely perfectly - I was quite surprised! Also, while the underwire poked sometimes in the beginning, this has now also stopped)

Lastly, the only two things I don't like about the Confetti are of a rather cosmetic nature: the metal clasps on the straps are gold in color (gold/white? Has to be my least favourite color combo ever) and the white bow in the middle of the boobs tickles and is generally a nuisance. But that was easily solved by cutting the excess bits of ribbon off https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

  3. Jasmine Balconnet Bra (6951)

    28HH

    Hasn't set fit

FOT/SHORT ROOTED/FULL/CLOSE SET CHRONICLES PT 4,632: I'VE BEEN FRAMED (facepalm)

My feelings about panache jasmine ultimately are the same as cleo's hettie: Mixed, as they're technically wearable without pain after altering the strap position, but decidedly specific... "Why does this halfcup have such a bizarrely wideset strap and utterly flimsiest stretch lace ever, on top?" and "Oh wow cool thanks, I've always wanted bulging corset boobs/busted muffin can chest shape" :/
Their underwires don't crawl away from my boobs for dear life, something many similarly upper full, projected, narrow wonderful polish bras end up doing over the course of a day when hormonal fluctuation arrives out ... of nowhere, busting up in the scene like the Kool-Aid Man. I love them but also, I'd like maybe super narrow cup + ultrashort + full AF love sometimes. Ever.

Both jasmine and hettie act as compressive, all-containing minimizers attached to unwarranted armpit saws on me (beacuas... highset root funtimes), but only jasmine loves to gouge and squeeze the everloving life out of my hefty sideboob as all panache bands/underwire position are wont to do on my conical ribcage. Looking down inside the cup from the wire, it's not built to do that, there's no 'side support' shaping in there... so I feel strongly this comes down to how the cup is already shallow on bottom, and then my shape (boob *everywhere all at once* along scant 3" vertical height- not especially 'long' but requiring so, so much elongation in a cup), and the shitty classic panache bra frame angle that predicts that cups must always be aimed directly up toward one's chin like a rocket launcher... grossly, vertically, inhumanly erect. Not supported, not aloft, but weirdly diagonally aimed toward the heavens and inward at a strict 45 degree angle like a beast about to attack passersby or even the wearer's, throats.

No I don't actually think jasmine has a cup shape resembling an iguana head, why are you asking?

You see... jasmine's band length and height are perfect, they feel so good on my midget torso. The armscye works for both my idiot small ribs, and the idiot huge shoulders- typically I only find this combo in Comexim. Despite sensing that this cup fits 2 sizes too small for me depthwise, Jasmine's wires on their own seem pretty much on par for the shape/depth I need in bratabase suggested sizing... but and it's a huge but... the way jasmine's band attaches only along the top end of the outer wire instead of extending all along to the bottom of underwire for stability, encourages its wires to spring in a nasty corkscrew of doom with the hell-tall gore tipping forward away from me and the rear end directly into my ribs. An excruciating and wildly polarized effect to the otherwise marvelous cup depth and cozy band/strap fit.
Meanwhile? Jasmines straps are yanked backward deep into my pits as there's literally no stable upper cup for it to attach to (remember than weaksauce flimsy trash lace? ahah, that.) And finally for the pièce de résistance, upper boob bisection/cups crumpling downward into awaiting nips due to all of this fkry.

    IT'S HELL.

I must mention I've been wearing panache's ariza at least as long as jasmine for the same reasons (something, anything extra deep that can accept fot shape), with equal amounts of fail-success, yet this problem never happens with that style. They both have projection and depth on their side, but ariza's rather andorra-ish with needlessly wedglelike/pointy/tiny/compressed nipple pocket issues that always make me wonder wtf panache was going for by creating such a madhouse oversized, voluminous cup (true to size for me) with such notably tiny, conical, pointy fit at the very tip in front! Like, we're talking a 4 size difference, kind of weirdness in the shape there. AINT NO WAY I'M THE ONLY ONE NOTICING THIS BIZARRE ISH. Blocky on top but you know, tolerable for depth sake.
Anyway. Back to jasmine vs arizas bands and how this affects their cup fit. Jasmine's band extends directly back from the top of the outer wire which causes the whole damnable thing to flex the cup width to a whopping 7.5" with horrifying ease... which increases the upward angling far past that 45 degree angle foolery found in so many panache offerings, while ariza's conical ribcage-friendly band descends downward diagonally from the outer wire and barely flexes out even .3" wider, leaving its cup shape intact. Ultimately this difference in frame accounts for a whole lot of cup fit troubles as jasmine starts off bottom shallow and becomes mid-zone shallow with only ultimate upper projection to offer me (shape in clothing presents as a boob-eraser), while ariza remains evenly projected despite being about as andorra-compressive-shallow as they come.

(yes? I despise andorra with the burning passion of 10,000 suns, what of it.)

All of this, all this time later, all the side stabbing and gore -goring my upper boobs, a world without Jasmine looks like a bleak and wretched place indeed.

This bra didn't work for me which was a big disappointment because I was thought this bra would have enough projection for me at the wire, but it didn't. The bra was definitely too wide for me and it was a little bit too tall for comfort. The sides of the bra kept rubbing into my arm pits. The light blue colorway was very pretty though!

  5. Harmony Underwired Balconnet (4031)

    1
    like

    28HH

    Didn't fit

I have the Harmony in chocolate brown and it's very smooth, silky and generally very beautiful. It also covers my nipples (a BIG plus! I have a problem with most bras with sheer upper parts giving me nip slip) and the band is probably the best-fitting bra band I have ever tried on, meaning that it would be a slightly snug 28. It was even a little *too* snug at the end of the day. The bra fits like second skin and only gapes a little when I breathe out (the sheer part at the top is quite stretchy). The straps are semi-adjustable but adjust long enough.

I ... think the cups run a bit too large.

The underwires are quite wide and end up in my armpits, and even though they don't poke, the edges of the bra rub in. It gets a little better after a few days' worth of wearing, but not much. I'm hoping that the bra will "break in" after a while.

The center gore is rather wide. At first I though it was okay, as it doesn't go up too high, but then I narrowed it by sewing it together - lo and behold, the gore suddenly settled between my boobs properly. So, this bra is better for people with breasts further apart.

The support is AMAZING. Truly awesome. I can run around, jump, bend forward, wiggle around, just about anything, and the boobs stay in place, strapped in tightly and comfortably. The uplift and shape is okay, not the best ever, but manageable, making this my no. 1 everyday basic (next to the Freya Pollyanna).

My main problem with the Harmony is how it looks on me without clothes on. The first thing I thought after looking in the mirror was "Wow, I forgot how huge my boobs can look." It's not as if the Harmony pushed the breasts up or anything, but after wearing a lot of bras which minimised the look of my chest (I'm looking at you, Rococo Charm! and you, Panache Confetti!), the arrival of a dark brown balconette which covered more than half of my boobs was a bit of a shock. I felt rather self-conscious in it, but after wearing it all day and realizing how comfortable it was, this slight drawback was forgiven.

If I were to buy this bra again, I'd probably choose a nude version for everyday wear. I'd also try a 28H on, just to be spared the nagging feeling on "what if" https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

EDIT: Okay, this definitely needs to be worn under at least one stretchy/tight-ish layer - the lace shows through and bunches under looser clothing, creatine a very visible line https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />

This is my first "professionally" fitted bra, not self fit. It fits pretty well with the exception of the wire width. The wire continues around a good portion of side around to almost my back. I wonder if this would be improved by having this bra in a 26J.

Loves- The sling of fabric on the inside of the cup. I think it really strengthens the cup design.

Dislikes- The stretchiness of the top section of the cup. This bra was recommended to me because of the stretchiness, the reason being it would allow for pregnancy breast growth. Yes it is stretchy and soft, but the holes in the lace stretch out which could end up showing an nip slip. Because of how fast the lace does this I wouldn't buy this bra again for full price. Now on ebay, I'd buy it again.

It's incredibly comfortable. The band is wearing well. The strap width is OK, which is something I usually have a problem with. The cup depth is excellent, just the width is not right for me.

    • May I ask what your measurements are (under bust/over bust) for this 28HH? I follow your blog, and we had a conversation before on how we have similar measurements (26 under/37.5-38 over). I like this bra overall but I have no idea what size I should get. Currently I have the 28GG, that’s me in the photos with purple bra for 28GG review, and clearly you can see the cups are way too small. I want to exchange it, but don’t want to blow a lot of cash on returning and reordering. I have implants as well.
      P.S. love your blog ^_^

    • I don't mind sharing measurements at all. Current measurements are 26" & 37.5-38" with my larger side measuring 11.75" from cleavage to sideboob. I'm currently 15 weeks pregnant and I have gained about 1/2" in the fullest bust measurement, additional weight, and a feeling of density.
With my implants, one thing to consider is while they are very soft (almost too soft) I do not have a ton of natural tissue probably about 50cc or so. I have 700cc UHP implants (silicone, dual plane, crease), so my total volume would be around 750 plus what ever changes my breasts have made while pregnant. Based on that & your info listed on your profile, I'd put you at about the same as me when it comes to bra sizing. But you have considerable more natural tissue and appear to possibly have a wider base to your breast. So depending on your projection the width may be better for you then it is for me and you may be able to do a 28H. Just let me know if you need any measurements or photos to help you decide. :)

    • Thank you for your help. Since you mentioned in your review that the under wires wrap around so far back in the 28HH, and the information about projection, I think I will try the 28H. I find with under wires that go too far back my breast get an East-West spread. Thank you again I really appreciate it.

If it weren't for the underwires, that are a little too high and poke, this would be my new favorite bra. I can still wear it and it is mostly fine, but sometimes the underwires do poke.

That being said, it gives a very nice, rounded, uplifted shape. The cups are open towards the top, but relatively far apart. The band feels supportive and is nice and wide (3 sets of hooks).

I'm really tempted to try and mod this bra to shorten the underwires, because they are the only thing making the bra OK instead of amazing.

    Fits

If it means anything, I am even on top and bottom with side fullness, wide roots and average projection.

While the leaf embroidery isn't really me, it is very pretty and skillfully done. The straps are partially adjustable, the front half padded for comfort, a huge plus. The gore fully tacks and the wires sit firmly on my IMF, staying in place all day without budging. I would say the overall shape and depth are perfect. The top portion of the bra lays flat against my skin without gaping or cutting in, and the bottom portion feels supportive, no wrinkling or tissue flattening whatsoever. Love the firm fabric cups and band opposed to the usual overly stretchy elastic ones in many other bras. The shape it gave me was not overly round or bullet bra-like, but a naturally rounded shape I like.

If I'm being honest I don't think any OTR bra will fit me much better than this. Needless to say, I am beyond satisfied with Tango II.

This bra was my first bra before I figured out bra sizing, so I thought I was ordering a 28H US. This actually worked fine, with a little wrinkling in the cups but the cups run small enough that I filled them at the start of my cycle. I've been through all six rows of hooks, and have better fitting bras now, so it's time to find this one a new home.

This is basically the same as the peach/white one I have - except for whatever reason the pink is at least a cup size smaller and a half band size smaller as well - enough so that it doesn't work for lounging to add modesty to a super casual outfit, or really for providing a bit of comfort. But to echo what I wrote in my other review - it's pretty, a basic "shelf bra" - it won't separate your boobs, but it will give them a bit of an oomph.

This is a reasonably comfortable "lounge/sleep" bra. Personally I prefer my DIY underwire-less Fantasie Belles, but - this is prettier! The straps are lightly padded, which is nice, and there are 6 columns of hooks for adjusting band size. It acts as a shelft bra - you'll be able to keep your bras from resting on your belly, but it won't keep them apart, by any means! It does give enough support to give me confidence running VERY quick late night errands or hanging out with people who don't regularly see me naked in a casual/sleepy way.

This bra is really pretty, it's similar to Panache Elsa (6691), but that bra was not available from the retailer I was buying from in the size I think I need (28HH).

Same issue I have with so many readily available brands is applicable here. The cups are just too far over onto my back. They function as part of the band, and I could use some leeway within the front of the cup. I feel as though if I size up in cup, the cups will be too big, but there is tension in the sides of them (where the wires are on my ribs), and it's leaving fairly deep red impressions in my breasts. A 30HH was too wide of a band and some other issues. The bra itself is the most comfortable to date, everything's right but the wires on the side of my ribcage.

Search continues, out of Panache's line.

Uh... I bought this bra as a home/comfort bra, but it really doesn't serve its purpose. The band is really... hard in some way, very uncomfortable.

The cups don't give a nice shape, which wasn't a big surprise really, being an unwired bra. The goal was to get a comfortable bra... but the cups are also very uncomfortable! Very rigid and tight, it's like wearing an armour. And don't even get me started on the weird quad-boob I get.

On top of it all, the whole thing squashes my breast together, which is very sweaty during summer.

The bra admittedly is surprisingly pretty for a softcup bra. But as far as comfort goes, not good at all.

I had to go down from my usual 28J, so this runs large in the cup. I've also found that despite the fact that the cup is narrower at the top of the wire than most of my other bras, there is a lot of empty space to the sides, in fact the wire pretty much goes half way around my body

I'm very full on top, but this bra works well to keep side tissue from spilling out and contains the top of the breast equally as well. However, the sides are very high as I'm short torso-ed and I would not be able to wear a sleeveless shirt/dress with this. I do love the wide and firm band as it keeps "back fat" from bulging between the elastics. The center gore is also very high for me and it rules out many v-necks. It's a great bra, and I certainly will get lots of use from it, but it is not my *perfect* bra.

I have two of this bra- one in hot pink with a grey lace overlay and one in peach with a white lace overlay. I got this bra in two colors, thinking it would fit similarly to the 30H Royce soft cup bra I have. Unfortunately, it's way too small in the cups on me. I get crazy quad boobing. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> The peach is definitely a little bigger than the pink, though.

Apart from that, I really like this bra. It's much more uplifting than the Royce. The lining is soft and silky, and the lace overlay is pretty (though not as high quality, I feel, as other lace bras I own.) The band is a bit too stretchy for my taste, but it's comfortable and doesn't ride up.

    Pros: Pretty!
    No underwires, obviously.
Gives good support for a bra without underwires.
Comes in pretty colors- I got the peach and hot pink ones.

    Cons: Band is stretchy.
Lace is a little delicate and might wear out quickly.
    Cups are small.
