My chest is full on the bottom and sides, slightly shallow on top and rather tall. I also have broad shoulders for my size. I don't love this, and I can't figure out why. I love the fabric, even though the lace is a itchy. However, I feel as though my chest might be too broad for it though, and the top of the cup feels as though it cuts into my chest just the tiniest bit. Also the straps on mine were super hard to adjust. They did not want to move. I kinda feel as though this may not be the shape for someone with a chest as tall as mine. I can't quite put my finger on what's wrong in my mind. Still pretty though. This is one of my recent grabs from postmark.
This color is very pretty on you. I think your assessment of your shape is correct and this bra is a little too closed at the top and a little to projected in the upper half of the cup, hence the slight wrinkling and cutting in.
lcl0706 Aha! Thank you! That makes a lot of sense. I was wondering why I felt a little strain at the top of my chest and then was still seeing wrinkling in the upper half of the cup. Oh well. Guess I'll list it on here and see if anyone wants it!
I agree with lcl0706 with the shape of this bra. It is such a pretty bra and the color does suit you. I am sure is the fit was better the lace would not be so itchy.

For this one I think it's just a bit of a shape mismatch, the apex looks to be a bit higher than your natural apex and the gore looks like it is too wide for you. Is it lying flat against your sternum because in the pics it looks like it is not laying flat.
Thanks LeProfessor I suspected it could shape incompatibility! The gore lies flat on my sternum, but the top part just makes me so sad. Wrinkling and cutting in blech! Oh well! Back to the drawing board. I had my eye on the Comexim Annika Plunge Bra , because I noticed the reviews mentioned it was more closed at the top! I try that next, I think!
One of the many Jasmines I have tried. I no longer have the pics of the 28F and 28FF Jasmine but if I can find them somewhere, or the old imgur album is still open for it, I'll share, but really....the fit is the same. It's nice and round from the front and even the angle a little, but the side view is pointy because the cups are too deep at the apex so my tissue just sinks into the cups, bottom up, and by the time it reaches the stretch lace, there's not enough tissue/volume to fill the top out. The gore is also a bit wide. ...
It's sad, really...I'd love for Jasmine to work to the point where I am almost tempted to try her again now that my size has changed some and I feel like I am somewhat fuller, but I have my doubts.
Just the first of several bras I have tried on in stores that I have pics of on my phone that I want to clear out, so I'll be adding them here for future reference. Read more 76 more words
This bra is super comfortable. Measured/ "usual" size too small/cups not deep enough. There is a bit of retro pointiness going on but I don't mind it. Going to try a cup size bigger.
I agree that cup is too small but wanted to make note that the wires are not in your IMF. When putting on a bra, make sure you push wires into your IMF. I bend over, pull the straps on, push the under wires into my IMF/tissue, latch the back of the bra, then go in and scoop all my tissue into the cups from bottom and sides. This makes sure bra is sitting correctly and that all tissue is in the cups. I hope the next cup size works for you!
I feel like nothing stays in my IMF!!!! I am wearing a CK bra up there and it feels weird. I guess it just doesn't feel right to me. I've never, as long as I remember, had a bra fit in my IMF. Will I get used to this sensation?? I am used to having my wires sit on my ribcage.
I actually find myself pulling the wires out of my IMF because it is not comfortable/feels weird!! Anyone else have this problem???
I think I was supposed to/meant to put LeProfessor -- just realized you can tag people in these comments!! duh..
If you keep wearing the bra in your IMF you will get used it. I used to do the same thing, it's a tactic women whom wear bras that have bands that are too big and cups too small. In an attempt to find the most room in the smaller cups. The wires should be encircling the breast while still being on the ribcage. The wires cannot support the breast unless they are right under the breast which is probably why you've always like very full coverage bras. They help pick up the support that the bras under wire is not providing! If you make it a habit to have the under wire in your IMF , ivyleaf , you should get used to it and will feel more supported overall.
ohh geeeez! this bra is so comfy!!! I cant even feel the wires on my body. The band is on the loose side as I can close very easily on the second set of hooks and probably on the third as well. The bra is really well made, but its just not my style. The top of cups digs into my boobs and the bra gives me a weird shape that doesnt work with me. Straps are just perfect (I wish that EM makes that narrow straps..), Overall Id love this bra if not the shape, but im planning now to try the plunge version when ill have a chance : )
This bra is soft, it has a super soft fabric over the back of the band where you connect the hooks...too bad it wasn't all the way around the band, that would be awesome. There is also a cute little hounds tooth detail on the fabric. Still, the band is comfy, I'd say the band runs a bit big; I was able to put it on the last hook. I think if I left it on the first hook, it would have ridden up. I think this bra might be for more Even to FoT breasts. I have more FoB breasts and the top lace is loose...however, this seems to be the case for most bras with lace for me. I have average projection and this bra is great for that. It does give a bit of a pointy look, but you could probably get rid of that by going down a size if you don't mind slight quadding. This is for the dark purple color way.
I wish you'd enter in the measurements for your bra. I have a 32 J, in black, and I wear 32 band in all my bras, and the band is just fine - i move it to the 2nd set of hooks if I wear it 3 times without washing . . so i"m curious if yours is stretchier? also color might make a difference
Entering them as you were probably commenting :)
that definitely seems looser than mine. What color is it? I know that marcies are stretchier in some colors than others
cant find the edit button, but finally saw you said its the purple. I wonder if the purple is stretchier than the black? Interesting.
Weird! This band felt almost like a Freya band. I had to double check the size!
The cups are great. The top of the cup has enough room with the lace that it doesn't cut in. I'm about even. The panache fern i tried gave me elf shoe boobs, and cleo lily has just a bit too much room at the top and it wrinkles.
The wires arent quite wide enough, and cut in. They also poke on the bigger side into my armpit. Painfully. i get that little indent in the fabric. i usually look for 5.2 or 5.3 width, and the 32dd is 5.0. just not quite enough.
Overall a good fit when I wear a non-stretch extender. I like the shape that this bra gives under t-shirts, and I feel like it isn’t the most accurate fit, but it does what I need when I don’t want bumpiness or seams showing through under my shirts. I also purchased and wear the 34D, because of how snug I found the band to run! The 32DD cut of the cups seems to fit better - the 34D cups feel like they are cut a little taller
I do have a rib flare situation going on, including a little unevenness (almost like a lip) on my sternum (right side) ...and when I first purchased the Cari in 32DD, the gore wire would rock back and forth on my sternum. This was resolved with a non-stretch extender, although it was the most pronounced issue I’ve faced with a bra and my ribs so far. Just adding this in in case any others have some rib flare issues too! ——————- About my shape/fit:
Pendulous. Projected at IMF. Center full. Flared rib cage. Short roots. Average-narrow root width. Soft tissue. Slightly full on bottom. A little wide set.
My recommended starting point was 32DD/E or 34D/DD. I teeter on the edge of both band size and size, depending on time of the month, brand, etc. I would describe my shape as horizontally center full, slightly wide set, lots of soft tissue from weight loss. I think I’m even fullness but functionally full on bottom. I have immediate projection that I need to accommodate, but overall I seem to be fairly shallow-average in terms of projection. My roots are average-narrow width and average-shorter height. Read more 168 more words

Currently I’m trying to find more about my root width and height through trial and error. As of now I would say short-average height and average width.
For ...the most part, 32DD/34D fits me best, but some brands and styles I fit 32E better. So I always try to order both sizes when I can.
Panache Envy: I purchased the envy in 32DD and 32E. The 32DD was closest to my size, but it seems to be a shape mismatch - too narrow and too projected for my breasts.
- Band is tight, even when upside down and backwards - used a non-stretch extender to assess fit. - Gore has pressure on center of sternum. - Extender relieves pressure. - Can’t fill the tops of the cup. - The stretch lace is loose and wrinkled, it’s lumpy under shirts. - The emptiness is from the horizontal seam through the strap. - Puckers at nipple and wrinkles on the top lace. - The side support makes a weird shape. - The cups are too projected, giving a pointy shape. - Especially on my smaller side. - Wires feel narrow, not painful but not comfortable for long periods of time.
- With a non-stretch extender - When I threw on a non-stretch extender, the bra felt more centered on my chest and less pressure in the center of the gore. Having the extender on helped me fill out the bottom of the cups, but the top of the cups were still loose.
I found the envy to be very uncomfortable! It is tight in the band and the underwires are very firm. I wish that I was able to fill the top but I don’t think this is the bra for me regardless. The 32E was too big in the cups, and I don’t plan to try the 34D. Read more 300 more words
Love how this fits me, no wrinkles at the bottom as it fully accomodates my immediate projection, and no wrinkles at the top where my breasts get more shallow. Stretch lace also does not cut into my tall roots. Firmer band but true to size.
They lock the breasts in place (leaning over, etc.). But the band is tight on me, not painful type. I do feel I am getting back support and I may just want 0.5-1inches more band width which a extender can easily do OR I just continuously wear it and it will stretch out. It did leave marks on my ribcage when I took the bra off at the end of the day and when I was working at the desk, maybe it was the bad posture I was in, but the wires started digging in.
This fit me strangely, which is disappointing, because it’s pretty. The cups are too small, but they also give me the strange “beak” shape mentioned in other reviews. I have soft tissue, so the steep angle of the lower cup combined with spilling at the top of the cups is super awkward. I’m pretty even, but my soft tissue usually works as though I’m FOB, so this shape surprised me.
I initially tried Cari in 30DD, 30E, and 30F. While 30E fit well in the cups, the band was *really* snug. 32DD is much more comfortable, and it retains the narrow scaling of the 30E, which I find to be rare in other brands. Straps are pretty well positioned for narrow shoulders, cups are narrow, and it’s got great projection for a t-shirt bra. This is a win!
At first, I was worried about armpit fat spilling out of the cups on the sides. I asked for fitting help, and according to the comments I received, the armpit fat is not a problem. So, I decided the wires are not too short. Maybe a bra doesn't need to reach all the way up to my armpits, after all.
This bra technically fits, but I realized it doesn't look good on me. There is not enough immediate projection for my bottom-heavy boobs. The cups squeeze my boobs into a pointy retro shape. My boobs are already pointy, and I don't want to emphasize that. I prefer bras that give my breasts a more round shape.
I will return this bra because I don't like how it looks on me. It looks even worse with a shirt on. It looks okay in the pictures, but not so good live.
I found the 30E to be a little small in the cups (just a tad, especially for immediate projection), and the band felt constricting. 32 bands never fit me, but I figured: Why not try? Well, the band on the 32 was much too big.
The cups technically fit, but I found the immediate projection to be even less than the 30E, which caused significant wrinkling at the bottom of the cup.
A 32DD in the Panache wired sports bra is definitely too small for me, but it looks great and the quality seems excellent. I just found this site while trying to figure out what size I should actually buy. I thought I was a 32DD, but Bratabase recommends a 32G for this bra, which could be why my boobs are spilling out of every possible place! I will try to find my true size https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
The band runs small, so I am glad that I went with a 32 instead of a 30. The cup also seemed to be the appropriate size. The wires are a little longer than other bras that I usually wear or are accustomed to. I have a very bony sternum (each individual bone protrudes, there's a slightly sunken area, and without a push-up bra, it looks quite shadowy) and found that the center gore wire came up about an inch too high. No wires were digging into breast tissue, but it was the pressing against the boniest part of my sternum that was very uncomfortable. I have fibromyalgia and EDS, so I'm very sensitive to things like this.
The construction seems a bit odd. When I put it on it kind of... creeks? Like there is a material not really meant to be stretching that is stretching.
I think in most bras, I am bigger than a DD, but the great depth of this bra accommodates my E breasts. The band is very snug, but it's not uncomfortable. The other issue with this bra is the cup separation is sliiiightly too wide.
Great for people with projected breasts and narrow roots. Has good depth at the cup. The underwire is fairly firm, which means the gore tacks beautifully, but the band is a bit firmer than I am used to. I wish the straps were just a bit closer together, but that's a common issue for me and this bra really isn't bad in that regard. Not perfect, but one of the best fitting bras I own.
