  1. Olivia Balconnet Bra (7751)

Just an initial review, as I've really only tried it on for now. I plan on wearing it today and likely tomorrow, and I'll update as needed.

This bra works remarkable well, considering my past experience with Panache. The wires are a bit too wide, and I have some empty space on the bottom of the cup on my smaller boob, but their width is not what I would consider problematic. I have some slight wrinkling on my smaller boob, but I've never met an unpadded bra in which this wasn't an issue. The band is firm, but comfortable. I've been straggling between a 32 and 34 band for ... some months, but recently lost 10 pounds, so I am probably closer to 32 than 34 at this point.

The shape is very round for an unpadded -- not CHP round, but nowhere near conical. The straps *might* be an issue, as they look like there's potential for them to dig from being set too far apart, but the fabric of the bra is super soft, so I suspect any issues will ease with wash and wear. As a bonus, the straps are padded, and feel super comfy.

The cups are double-lined in this size, which I prefer, since it lends much better support than if they were not. What I appreciate about Panache is that the aesthetic of the bra is maintained (unlike some of Freya's balconettes in larger sizes), while support and fit is still there. The lace of the bra is quite stretchy, but not so much that support is compromised. The top of the cups, comprised of stretch lace, cut in my FoT boobs ever so slightly, but it's not noticeable in clothing.

The color is gorgeous of course, one of the main reasons I felt the need to purchase this, and works well as a nude bra for my super pale skin. The apricot is brighter in person, and looks great with my pale skin and auburn hair. It's a great spring bra, and will pair well with my brightly colored lace Aerie undies. The cups are patterned on the bottom with polka dots, which extend to the band. The floral lace lines the top of the cup and the bottom of the band, and has a slight sheen to it. All in all, I'm very pleased with this! I'm excited for the future release of the blue colorway I've seen on Moda previews.

    • thank you for this, I am looking at this bra, have you tried the floris or unpadded cleos?? just wondering how it compares?

    • Those pics are great! You did a great job of showing how well the bra is made and all the lovely details. I'm also very interested in how this bra compares to the floris (which is amazing!)

    • 1

I haven't tried the Floris, but Olivia is based off of Floris, if that helps at all. I think Olivia is less open on top as Floris, but the fit is otherwise the same.

Compared to unpadded Cleo bras, the wires on this are more wide (but also, more strong) and the cups are less projected. Additionally, the shape is less round and spherical as is typical of Cleo. If Floris and Cleo work for you, I'm guessing Olivia would as well!

    • 1

Thanks, Stinkmouse ! The details are really what make this bra so gorgeous.

One more thing I forgot to add in the review, Olivia does come with 3 hooks in this size! No matter how great Cleo is, the 2 hook fastening bother me to no end.

    • 1

Great review and pictures! You make me actually want to try Panache again.

    • 1

Amen… 2 hooks is just not enough. I have an issue with my floris but I'm in love with the way it seems so much like a Cleo but has 3 hooks. !!!

    • 1

Thanks for the review - dying to try one myself!

    • 1

Oh - so glad to come back and see you say three hooks - this picture shows it with only 2 hooks! Maybe it changes at a certain cup? http://www.breakoutbras.com/product/panache-olivia-balcony-underwire-7751/Underwire-Bras

    • 3

I'm guessing it changes to 3 hooks at GG? I think I've seen that mentioned on Bravissimo for Panache bras before.

I've been wearing this nearly all week (washings in between wears, of course), and it definitely gets more comfy with wear. Ladies, snatch this one up! I'm hoping it sticks around for awhile.

    • 1

Its coming out in blue in the fall, so I'm not sure if I want to buy the peach (for my birthday in June - but I REALLY want the ivory floris), or if I should wait and get the blue one later.

Wow, this was one of the first times in a long time that I tried on a bra, and I swear I heard angels singing. 😂

The pictures are so bad, and I hate the color I chose to try on, but I swear by looks in person, this bra fit amazing! Like a glove.

I was surprised to find the gore was tall but narrow, so it tacked perfectly. The cups are deep enough at the bottom and apex. The stretch lace delicately lays across the top without wrinkles or quadding. The only thing I could find wrong is that I had some strap gap. I’m not sure if that’s indicative of an incorrect fit or if it’s just because I have shorter roots.

This was only the 2nd time I’ve tried on Jasmine. The 1st time it was comically small (I tried a 34GG or something when I was a 34HH). This was only a try-on, but I’m leaning towards getting one of these for sure!

    • So it wasnt too deep for you in the cup?

    • dbmamaz nope the wire was fine however the top of cup gave excess skin so I had had to alter the cup full cup to half cup now it's perfect :) some says confetti is good for shallow breast well for me is was just round cup like some panache bra

    • Yes, I forgot, it was the Envy that we thought would be too round

    • dbmamaz I haven't tried yet for trying I have to buy one. and i think it's 50 : 50 whether work on me or not

    • 1

I wonder if it would work on me? I can wear my envy bra for about 4 hours before it starts to hurt. I tried on an old body shaper recently, but it smooshes my boobs (I used to be able to wear it over my unstructured bras, but i'm bigger now and it just doesnt work)

    • dbmamaz oh I see that's so sad but if the bra doesn't work on you than it's probably hard to wear it for long time

    • 1

Its frustrating - it fits well and feels good for the first 2 hours. I think its because its too shallow and it rides down, but it is the most painful bra I have - after 4 hours. I wish it wasnt so, its so nice and stretchy and comes in colors i like. and hubby likes it!

    • dbmamaz oh.. that just could have been your absolute favorite

  4. Loretta Balcony (6681)

I just got this bra in the mail (the blue) and I am too excited to have it to take it off and measure it just yet. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> It's the first bra I have ever had where my breasts really fit in the cups.

    Pros:
-Sized perfectly for me -- right band, right cup. Tacks better than any bra I've ever owned.
    -great support.
    -Great color!
-Pattern doesn't show through, at least not through the tank top I'm wearing
-Underwire is level with band, not below it, which reeeally helps it sit in the right place at the base of my breasts.
    -Pretty good lift.

    Cons:
-Sits pretty close to the root of my breast but still slips down a tiny bit; possibly I can fiddle with how I wear it it as it wears in and fix that, though it may be that my breasts are a little shallow for the cup.
-Gives pretty good lift but a pointy silhouette, at least on me.

  5. Elsa Balconnet Bra (6691)

I bought this bra first in 32HH, which was way too big in the cup. I exchanged it into H-cup and this is the result.
    Pros:
    - very pretty
    - soft material, feels good against the skin
    - sturdy band, true to size
    - natural, understated shape
    - good support

    Cons:
    - cups are bell-like and deep, and there's something strange in their shape. The highest point of the breast is below the nipple => profile is droopy. Not by much and it doesn't show under a thicker shirt, but still. I wouldn't call this shape "balconette".
    - Won't suit top-full breasts as the top of the cup is tight. Quadraboob is ... a hairsbreadth away!
    - cups are spaced out wide.
    - the underwires are still quite high.

Despite this bra not being a perfect fit, I'll keep it. It's not bad by any means, just not perfect á la Freya Lacey.

    ***
Edit: The Elsa softens considerably after a few washes and seems to shape itself according to my breasts. Result: it's REALLY comfortable! Okay, so the shape is not my preferred EM perky, but the bra is so wonderful to wear that I'll forgive that little detail.

    Didn't fit

I almost cried with joy. This is probably the best fitting bra I've tried on in the on-again-off-again years I've been looking for the right bra -- and I managed to find it on Amazon (Prime, even!) for under $20, which is a shock. Finding 34G in an affordable range was hard; I'd been having zero luck when trying to do so with 32H.

My big, heavy, pendulous breasts are up and content, and the fit is good. The band is tight, but not uncomfortable (yet; I'm gonna take it out on a test run to a writer's group meeting to see how it goes) and the gore ... tacks perfectly. The wire is even actually in my IMF, oh my god; so many bras I own are close enough, but not perfect. The only thing wrong is a little bit of room at the top of the cups. I'm okay with this. No one can have it all, lol. It's also a small amount itchy? Not a lot, but noticably.

I have a few more bras incoming -- another Panache, which I've had by-and-far the best luck with since I started measuring bras, and a few I've never tried before. Mostly 34Gs. I may have to read up on ABTF on altering bras, and try to get my current bras to fit. The unpleasant thing about the slow-and-steady weight loss (other than three years of counting calories, which is tedious, lol) is that bras slowly, slowly stop fitting and one day I'm suddenly like, "Hey. Wait. Everything hurts, what happened?"

I want to love this bra so bad, because it's absolutely gorgeous and the shape it provide with clothes (sweater and button-up shirts--this is def not a t-shirt bra) is pretty good. However, the cup shape is all wrong for me. The wires are too wide, so the fit of the cup is all wrong. Otherwise, I would say this fits like a standard Panache 32H.

Another swing and a miss for Panache Ana. This is either a shape mismatch, or still too small of a size.

32H Panache Envy is slightly too open on top. The seems either too small or too closed on top.

This bra is firm in fabric and wire. It provides good immediate lift at the wire and strong support from the sides (I believe that's referred to as forward support/shape) the wires come around to under the arm and I do not have any tissue escaping. The straps are not too wide set (a problem I run into sometimes) and the bra swoops away from the crease of the shoulder/armpit when the strap and cup meet. The straps are also not too long and they are sturdy and soft. The gore is strong and can be considered tall, but it's also forgiving- the wire chanel has room for ... shifting the wire. This bra feels like a hug and a pedestal all at once, it is my perfect fit. I believe I have tall and wide roots, center full (horizontal) even full (vertical) with immediate projection. Very soft tissue (middle age, 3 pregnancies, 2 breastfed babies) 5'4" with narrow shoulders 32H. I did not size up, although some people benefit from that with this bra. My breasts are hiders in their natural habitat and this bra really gets them front and forward with so much love and support, so if you can relate to my shape maybe this is the bra for you! (Also try panache Clara)

Gives a nice rounded shape but the central gore was just too wide for me so it kind of set me further apart than it should so wasn't very flattering. I imagine it would be better on someone who is set wider apart. Am going to try the Andorra in this size as I think the gore is narrower.

The lace is super stretchy, lets the girls jiggle quite a bit. On the flip side, however, I feel very sexy wearing it. There is a little space between where my breast actually end, and where the underwire sits. The lace trim along the bottom often flips up-ward, which isn't a problem really.

I adore this bra!!! It is my favorite that I've found so far. I was looking for something with a stretchy cup to make breastfeeding easier, and this fit the bill better than any actual nursing bras I've tried. The band is a bit loose, I would have preferred a 30, but sadly at this point my Idina is so stretched out from almost-daily-wear that my measurements would be far from accurate. The center gore tacks amazingly and the wires are the perfect width for my breasts. The shape is very uplifted but with more of a "natural" shape. The only issue is that at times the wires can get pushed down below the root, due to me physically moving the bra throughout the day to breastfeed and my long torso.
I have a long torso and close-set, bottom heavy breasts, and this bra is perfect and the picture of comfort.

This bra runs small in the cup. And when I say 'small', I mean almost one cup smaller than the label suggests. It also has really narrow underwires for a Panache bra. They are very log though and may poke.
The band isn't very stretchy, therefore lowering your size too much might not be a good idea.
The bra is really beautiful, made of satin covered with lace. The inside fabric unfortunately isn't as comfy. The lace on the upper part of the cup is soft and rather loose, which gives an impression of too big cups even on my bigger boob, which otherwise wouldn't fit, so in my case it's rather a good thing.

Mind that I bought the bra used, so the original measurements might be a little different from mine.

This was my first Panache bra. Holy wow underwires! They’re so uncomfortable at first, with a couple washes it got a lot better though. The wires go too far back into my armpit and dig in, leaving red marks and making me beg taking it off at the end of the day. At first, the underwire lays underneath my IMF then slips below it about 30 minutes later.

The gore lays flat to my sternum. The cups are filled completely, top to bottom after a good scoop and swoop. It’s a pretty bra, but the quality can’t touch some of the ones I’ve recently seen. The price shouldn’t be as high as it is due to that alone.

Overall, it’s a decent bra. It helped me with troubleshooting my shape. I kept it because I couldn’t return it after taking the tags off. Otherwise, I would have returned it.

This is a really nice bra in looks and comfort. The cups seem nice and deep. The fabric could be a little softer, but overall, not a bad bra. The main problem for me is the elastic on the top of the cups. If it was plain stretch lace, I think this bra would be a total win for me. Unfortunately, the elastic cuts in and causes quadding. This might be easily remedied by removing the elastic. This was a try-on bra, so I’m unable to do that, but if I end up wanting to buy this in the future, I think removing the elastic would work in my favor.

Standard Panache fit on me. Firm band, the wires were too wide and the wings came up too high, so it felt uncomfortably high up in my armpit area. Not enough immediate projection so it rode down. I have since lost some weight (about a cup size and upper fullness went along with it), so i wouldn't be able to wear it now regardless. I think it would be fine for someone with moderate projection and wider roots than me.
