This is a pretty bra. I love the color. The materials are soft, the details are nice. The quality is higher and it feels more comfortable than the 34D - Panache » Envy Balconnet Bra (7285), but unfortunately the fit is equally poor on me. The gore doesn't tack, and I have space at the bottom of the cup and quadding on top. I think this is what they call "orange in a glass." The band is really stretchy and doesn't have much substance - I feel like I look even lumpier and roll-y in the back than usual. I do like the low wings, the wires don't poke me. I think if the cup was cut a little higher and I went up a size, I might like the appearance better. As it is, the beige lace on the top makes the cups look even lower than they actually are, and I'm not a fan of the shape.
I'm bummed, this one is a big nope for me. I really liked the way this bra looked in pictures, and I've seen it recommended for a bunch of different shapes, so I took a chance. But it doesn't fit well, look good, or feel good.
The bra seems well-made, but the material is rough and scratchy. It felt very uncomfortable against my skin, both in the cups and the band. Fit wise, I was optimistic at first, since it looked okay from the front. The gore tacked, and the support seemed fine - but on closer inspection (especially after I took the pics), ...it doesn't fit at all. The wires are almost the right shape, but the gore digs into my sternum a bit. The cups are smooth on the top edge, at least on my larger side, and actually look nice - but... major wrinkles on the sides, I don't fill the bottom of the cup, and the wires don't stay put when I raise my arms. The rounded shape I get from it is nice. Going down a cup size and choosing a color that doesn't match my skin would probably be an improvement, but based on the feel of the material I'm not going to bother. It seems like a shape mismatch. I added this bra 1-2 years ago but my reveiw seems to be missing. My usual size in UK brands is 32E so took a chance on this one for a low price. Cups are too low and slightly small but works OK when worn with straight straps (which I don't like). With the J-hook connected breast tissue escapes both in upper cup and armpit. Great bra, wrong size.
I tried the Ana in 32DD, 32E, and 32F before trying the 34D. I really wanted it to work, but the side support has gone wrong on all sizes.
The 34D fits me pretty well, however the side support does not work for my center full shape. It pushes in and gives a very odd silhouette under shirts. Unfortunately most likely a shape mismatch, though I don’t understand why my breasts usually benefit from side support panels, but not on the Ana
The cups are a little tall, but especially when I wear it with the clips I find the fit to be pretty good. I prefer the cups on the 32DD but the band is very snug, which is why I decided to try the 34D as well. The cups don’t feel too wide, but they do give a wider shape than I usually feel my other bras do. It creates a little flatness on the curve between my armpit and nipple, this is remedied when I use the J-hooks as well. I wore the bra on an extender for the first several wears, now it feels comfortably snug without extender.
Overall ...- comfortable and wearable, while not being the ideal technical fit. ————— About my shape/fit:
Pendulous. Projected at IMF. Center full. Flared rib cage. Short roots. Average-narrow root width. Soft tissue. Slightly full on bottom. A little wide set.
My recommended starting point was 32DD/E or 34D/DD. I teeter on the edge of both band size and size, depending on time of the month, brand, etc. I would describe my shape as horizontally center full, slightly wide set, lots of soft tissue from weight loss. I think I’m even fullness but functionally full on bottom. I have immediate projection that I need to accommodate, but overall I seem to be fairly shallow-average in terms of projection. My roots are average-narrow width and average-shorter height. Read more 120 more words
Purchasing: * $47 on Amazon with free Prime shipping & returns (some sizes/colors available on Amazon Wardrobe, but not this one) * Available in black and beige only.
Band: * One layer of stretch semi-sheer knit. * Elastic at top of band. * Wing support: seaming * Continuous band - wires lower than wings. * Back close with 3 columns of hooks.
Straps: * smooth elastic * soft (don't stand up on their own) * full adjust * leotard back
Cups: * 2-seam (3-piece) half cup (Called a balconette but the cup edge is diagonal, not horizontal, so really a half cup.) * unpadded, stiff underwire * All pieces constructed of a non-stretch mesh with a leaf applique ...(kinda like a lace). Unlined. * Soft cups (no molding or padding). *** Wire runs full length of the channel (unusual).
Fit
About me: petite with wide horizontal oval, slightly conical breasts * average projection * wide-set (3 fingers width of space between breasts) * very wide roots (extend past the mid-axillary line) * even horizontal fullness (just barely outer full) * short root height, average vertical placement * mix of firm & soft tissue (front molds to shape of bra, sides push wimpy wires away) * conical shape (but will squish to round) * full on top (2/4 shape, not even or very full) - BUT functionally even to FOB due to short roots and soft tissue * petite (5'3") so have narrow frame * front (anterior) rib flares
Band: * length: too big * wings: too short, armpit quad boob * axillary skin spillage
Gore: Comfortable, tacks, good spacing, height fine.
Cup: * Gives breasts a slightly pointy shape. * Wires very, very narrow. * Top of cup smooth (but only because so much boob escaping cup). * Bottom of cup filled.
Straps: * not too far apart * adjust short enough
Assessment and Plan: * Cups far too narrow. Band too big. * Already tried 32E (band borderline too big, cups still very narrow). * Based on measurements table, probably need at least a 30G to get enough width, but cup depth will be too big. * Style too projected for my shape. Try different styles. Read more 227 more words
Right cup okay, but ever so slightly unfilled at the lace and up. Not filling out left side. Still some side wrinkling. Band is definitely too bag (albeit more what I'm used to), gore tacks. Forgot to check the red marks! Shape seems pointier than I'd like.
I've had bad luck with plunges in the past so I was surprised that this fit as well as it does. It's quite comfortable to wear - my only gripe would be that like the Andorra full cup I get a slightly pointy shape, but it's not so bad that I can't live with it - it's less noticeable when I'm clothed.
