So when I first picked up the new Caramel colorway the band measurements were a pinch over 29/34, snugger than your average new Jasmine. (Really, I measured a couple extra times to make sure since I'm familiar enough with an expected range for Jasmine.) This works out great for me, as I've lost just enough weight to be on the upper end of 34 bands, am going to second hook pretty fast on 36 bands, and can't return this particular bra (local boutique special order).
I did notice a bit of wrinkling on the cups, probably from band over stretching the first few wears, that has mostly smoothed out. ...It's probably more noticeable being a solid, lighter colorway, where prints would easily mask minor wrinkling near the seams. Situations like these are also why I prefer to wear a bra for about a month before writing a review. A handful of solid, day to day wears really helps shake out how well a bra will work for you in the long run, not unlike a pair of shoes.
The band is now at 30/35 so I've updated my initial measurements, but if you pick up the new Caramel colorway keep in mind it may be a bit more snug than expected your first few wears. Read more 106 more words
I recently purchased the caramel colorway of the Jasmine and completely agree that it runs tight. I purchased the 30GG and even though I can wear 28s in Freya and 30 in all of my other Panache bras, including the Jasmine in other colorways, this bra is too tight for me. I am waiting a few weeks to loose a few holiday pounds before I wear it.
I just got this bra in Caramel. I picked it up in a 30 band, as my other Jasmine (blue snake print) in a 32 band seemed to stretch out really fast and I discovered I really need a 30 band in most UK bras anyway. I can't even hook it on the loosest hook, so I was thinking of returning it and getting a 32 band. I'm glad I decided to look for recent review here on Bratabase! I think I'll be keeping it based on your review! I love the color - it's perfect for my summer tan skin tone and really not bad even now!
sounds like a job for - temporary extenders!
I just got the blue floral (with gray band) and I cant close it - my other 2 jasmines havent really stretched out at all, so I'm not sure what to do!
I envy that your other models haven't stretched out! I think I'm just hard on bra bands. Perhaps the blue floral also runs tight like the caramel. I've gotten the blue Dogtooth and the black and they seem to fit as expected.
Idk, its also possible i've gained weight. I think that might be the case. My other two are Black Ricamo and Blue Mosaic
This is one of those times where it's important to note the colorway in review because it ends up fitting differently from the rest.
Duck Egg Clara is indeed an abberation in fit compared to all the other colorways. It does have more room at the bottom, the wires do fit all right in my IMF where they belong, unlike with Heather or Slate/Teal. It is probably too much to hope Panache would go back to this particular cut on further Clara colors, as overall I rather enjoy the look of Clara, and the bottoms are just great (unlike Jasmine, sadface).
With Clara I get a not outrageous but lifted, round appearance, and not exactly east-west but further separated look than Envy or Jasmine.
The Clara is one of my favorite bras (I have 3, one is Duck Egg!). I agree with all your comments - lifted, round, not as centered as Envy/Jasmine, great matching briefs. I haven't tried the Heather or Slate/Teal colorways though - interesting to hear they all fit so different!
eryoptical , I've taken to understand the other colorways fit the same, just the Duck Egg is different. (Or perhaps, SO different from the others it's super obvious instead of subtle.) The Panache Orianne fits much like Duck Egg Clara, but with more coverage, (blues and golds gotta stick together, I guess) if you were considering trying that one.
Also, I read your review on the Duck Egg Clara, and I think we have the same issue with gores as I'm also 5'2." My breasts start 5" below my collar bone, so 4" gore seems SUPER TALL on me, and I can't wear deep necklines with most of my Panache bras because shirts seem to expect more vertical chest space than I have. (Also, whereas Petite and Plus don't seem to go together.) Sigh.
Oh goodness, don't even get me started on how clothing manufacturers can't conceive of a person being both petite and plus size! It really irks me.
Yes, Panache wires seem super tall on me, even though I don't find them uncomfortable. They're definitely visible in v neck shirts, even more so because I'm so short and most people are looking down to talk to me.
I have Duck Egg, the beige Clara, and a teal/navy in 34g (which fits about the same as my others in 34gg but is slightly less comfortable because the g-gg jump is where they change construction). The beige one and Duck Egg do fit a smidge different, but I just chalked it up to the difference in individual bras! Good to know.
Yeah the advantage of being plus sized petite in a well fitting bra is I've had other women notice my gore tacks when theirs doesn't which sparks the "wait, how does that work" conversation. And I love helping, but also it'd be nice if I didn't have it on display so often, as it were. (Or, why Snug camis are my friend.)
I do see some instances plus+petite being addressed in pants but never in tops/dresses. So, half of me is represented. :x
Plus size petites unite! 5'4" - my boobs and my hips are pretty much the biggest parts of me. I'm a little different than y'all in that I have a lot of center fullness, so taller Panache gores work well on me... but their wires can get pretty stabby in my armpits.
My Duck Egg Clara is a really close fit. I get some quaddind unfortunately.
Also, I know Talbots and Lands End offer plus size petites but they're not exactly the height of fashion. The sizing is annoying too. I have a 0X sweater from Lands End that's a great fit, but it's like, 0X, really?? And Talbots only goes up to 16 in plus petites - I tend to be an 18 in pants and 16 in shirts. But size 18 regular women's pants are often a poor fit, and size 18 plus pants are too long...argh!!!
I am 5'2, and petite pants never fit me, because of the shape of my waist. I wear short length, not petite
High fives!
Panache/tall gores work fine as far as fit and comfort on me, they're just really tall, so I have to be careful about necklines. It's why I was super happy to see the Panache Ava Plunge (9396) and somewhat disappointed by it's fit issues.
I get a lot of my clothes from Torrid and LoveSick because I have a more than ample rear, so their pants fit me well most of the time. Thankfully several of their jeans have a short or extra short version, and their cropped leggings are pretty much ankle length on me.
Despite having a 45" bust tho' I can't wear any tops with buttons, they even gap in size 2. It's dumb. Otherwise I'm normally 0x or 1x and have just resigned the sizing to "whatever, it fits."
Jockey also makes super comfy underthings and thermals that are quite forgiving in regard to size. I find myself happy in a large or 7 there, where as in Torrid bottoms I'm 1 or 14 , sometimes 16.
my boobs are very low on my chest, so i have only recently had a panache wire poke me in the underarm, and that was 32JJ floris, but not the jasmine. very tempted to get another jasmine. feeling like none of my bras fit, again. but i have 2 Ewas on the way. you know, in a month or two.
Dear Panache, your plunges need to be plungier. See: Elomi's killer plunges. On your model the gore looks much lower; at my size it's 3.25," or at least 1.25" more than I like to see in a plunge. We sacrifice coverage (and maybe some support) at the center to be able to wear deep v necks. PLEASE PLUNGE MORE.
Also, this band is super stretchy! I bet the combo of soft stretch lace and I having 2 hooks instead of 3 is the key. Wore for half an hour, did light chores, lots of band movement. Went to second hooks, still some movement but not nearly so ...bad.
I should add I have been losing weight and it's possible I've lost enough to be in SUPER AWKWARD between band territory. So first I'll order the 34H, try it, and keep the one that fits best.
Pros:
SOFT! Based on the model I was expecting something like the Jasmine, but the lace is much softer, even more so than the Envy. I was hesitant to buy the matching bottoms because Jasmine bottoms just do not work for me, but... now that I have to exchange anyway I am going to give them a try.
Partial transparency. Also based on the model I was expecting the more opaque appearance like the Jasmine, but the two inner panels have a slight transparency, I love it.
Oh yeah, the straps! They're thinner than average for my size, which is GREAT! Usually I'm looking at .75-1" for straps, and tho' these straps are more like .6" it's a noticeable and welcome difference.
Neutral:
The grey is darker than expected, so those of you with darker skin tones looking for a good "nude" should consider this. Read more 176 more words
Yes, I want all bra makers to make their plunges plungier, too, bliz !
The lowest gore I own is about 3.4", and that's on a Comexim plunge with a reduced gore. Once you hit a certain size, the plunges just get really tall :(
Orianne's fit is not unlike the Duck Egg Panache Clara Full Cup Bra (7255) . The overall style of the bra is much more full cup tho'; the coverage reminds me of some of my old Elomi bras, and the gore is a whopping 5," where I'm used to 4. Not uncomfortable, but this will absolutely be an issue with those who are very close set. I do have a small amount of tissue it rests on at the very top but it's not an issue. The wire also comes up quite high under my arms and around my sides (this really is FULL COVERAGE), so ...if you have an issue with sensitivity in these areas/prefer less coverage you'll want to skip Orianne.
The wires are maybe .25" wider than I need; I can fit a finger width between where the wire ends and where my tissue does. But like the Clara I get a super round shape from Orianne, while also giving plenty of projection at the wire.
The color scheme and design is very classy and elegant. Super dark teal on soft gold organic leaf and vine shapes; not exactly floral, which I'm totally fine with. And the matching bottoms are microfiber, SO SOFT. They offer more coverage than the Clara, Envy, or Jasmine briefs without getting into high waisted territory. Which I also really appreciate.
I've worn this a few times and am super happy with my purchase. Also, totally worth it to pick up a second pair of the super comfy bottoms. Read more 147 more words
Thanks for your review - very helpful. I had my eye on Orianne as she is so beautiful, but I don't think that tall gore will work for me. I may yet try Clara in duck egg.
bliz I wear the duck egg Clara in a 30H and while I love how it looks on the hanger I do want to warn you that it wears out really quickly. I had to force the adjuster over the lace filigree at the top of the strap recently because it had stretched out and wasn't supportive. The band also stretched out much faster than I expected, especially for a PA bra. I was expecting a band more similar to the Envy (my favorite bra) but I'm having to go on the second hook already, and I don't even wear it that often! I also don't put it in the dryer or spin it. I still like it because I think it's a beautiful color and I figured out how to push the adjuster past the stitch point, but I don't think I would buy another one (and I'm really tempted by the navy blue that came out and the red that's coming out this season).
bliz I also work at a bra boutique in Richmond, Virginia and a lot of women have come in saying they don't like the bra or that they had issues with it because of the looseness.
So lately Clara has had some lovely colors come out and a few months back I tried on Duck Egg blue because I read a review somewhere that noted it had more depth at the bottom than previous models.
I've tried on that colorway twice now, as well as Heather and Steel Blue. I can confirm that specifically Duck Egg blue has more depth than the other two, and probably all the previous models. (Got such a great deal on the Heather colorway I couldn't pass it up.)
Still, the Heather is comfortable and supportive. The color combo is lovely; something more than just a neutral. It sits just below ...my IMF with a little cup wrinkling and I have a slight triboob on one side in all three colorways. It's hardly noticeable, unless I'm looking for it. I've worn it a couple of full days without discomfort.
The bottoms are comfy, too! This is a damn shame seeing as how I am not a fan of the Jasmine bottoms where the Jasmine bras fit me so well. It's like I can have one or the other with Panache.
At some point (I guess soon?) I will go ahead and grab the Duck Egg colorway, because looks crazy good on me with my eye/skin coloration. I was not as thrilled with the Steel blue colorway on me as expected, so ultimately I'll take a pass knowing there's a shape mismatch anyway. Read more 129 more words
This is the only bra I own that would allow me to wear the lower-cut faux wrap v-necks that seem to be in 80% of the clothes in the store these days. I'm probably going to get another in a different size -- this is almost there, but not quite. I wear a 36H in other British bras but I bought it off eBay and can't return it.
I love the lower wires in the middle, that they lie flat against my sternum and are unobtrusive. Most of all, I love that this bra makes my boobs seem slightly less huge without being a minimizer.
If there's one thing I really need to say about this bra, it's wow, these WIRES are huge! The gore and the sides are tall. The cup is quite shallow at the bottom, and the stretch lace at the top will accommodate top fullness.
This bra was on sale online, so I took a chance and ordered it. It’s not perfect for my shape, but seems like a good everyday bra. This is a cup size larger than my Jasmine bra (they didn’t have 36G on sale) and there is a gap at the outer corner where the lace meets the band. The bottom of the cup works well for my FOB breasts. However, I’m inner full and the gore is a little too wide and as a result the wires sit a little on my breast tissue. The fabric runs too high into my armpits, but I’m not sure if this ...will be an issue or not. The band is firm but not tight. Overall the fabric is comfortable and I like the feel of the cups.
I’m just not sure if this is a bra I should keep while I continue to look for a bra that is good for FOB and inner full breasts. Given that I seem to fall somewhere between a 36FF and 36G in other bras I’ve tried on, I’m not sure if this is a little too big for me, given the gap I noticed in the outer lace. Do I keep this bra (it was on sale) or return and save my money for a bra that will work better for my shape? Read more 121 more words
Is it comfortable? It looks like a pretty good fit but with the issues you listed, it might not work well (gores sitting on breast tissue can be painful by the end of the day). Running high into the armpit area is often a deal breaker for me. But if it was such a good deal that you can put up with the imperfections, then keep it. ;)
It looks darn good! I put it this way, if you don't have a lot of decently fitting bras that are comfy, keep it! If you don't like the shape and really don't think you'll wear it because you have other better fitting bras, return it and save the money for a better bra.
So this is the fourth Envy I've owned, I only kick myself for not buying the Cassis colorway because damn. (You have no idea how I hope to see that one go up on ebay or SOMETHING.) So pretty!
As far as fit goes, the same as all the other Envy colorways I've purchased, which up until now have been the non fashion colorways. Pink doesn't do it for me, but I cross my fingers for a red some day. Lots of room for immediate depth and stretch lace to smooth out issues up top. Super supportive and plenty comfy.
As for the color, holy cow, I've yet to see ...a photo on the internet that does it justice. Stunning, rich (more blue than green) teal that has an almost iridescent colorway. I'm not a big fan of Panache knickers but I will probably end up picking up a pair because I feel it's a crime not to have them this time.
Wanted to add, had to buy the matching bottoms, it was a crime not to. They are soft and stretchy, and I plan to buy a second pair. Read more 79 more words
I love envy and I love this color. Where did you find the new peacock blue colorway for sale?
Hey SavvyL, I got it from my local boutique. She ordered it months ago, and all the fall stuff is slowly coming in now. (Picked up the crochet Jasmine 2 weeks ago from there.) I'm sure you will start to see it available online soon if you don't buy locally.
Fits like a dram. First time I've ever had a bra gore lie flat as someone with close set breasts. High and round. Feels a bit too formal a shape for under loose, draping clothing. Wish this shape was available with less lace.
I own in Olive/Black, Dove Silver or Grey or something, and Ice Blue. All needed a couple of washes to get rid of the starch before they were comfortable enough to wear all day, but since that's happened I've been able to fall asleep in them.
I think maybe this is 1 size too small at least. It quads a little bit, but also has wrinkles at the bottom. The gore also floats.
I’m not a fan of white, but for diagnostic reasons I figured white was easiest to see fit issues.
The wires are narrower than other UK sized bras I’ve tried, which is cool. I need narrower wires!
Panache’s bras are pretty good quality, so the Envy isn’t different. It’s not the most comfortable, but it’s okay. I felt kinda squished in there. Appearance-wise, the fabric on the Envy has a weird pattern that I don’t care for, and I mentioned how I feel about the white color.
The lace is great, nice and comfortable and allows for fluctuations in size!
I’m not a huge fan of the fit of the Envy, so I probably won’t try it again. I actually preferred the look of the Jasmine, although the 36G - Panache » Jasmine Balconnet Bra (6951) didn't fit me AT ALL.
Unfortunately I couldn't close the back up and the cups were a bit small, so I will be returning it and trying to get one of the same style in a size that fits me.
My current everyday bra and favorite. I own this bra in black and white and I love both the shape it gives me (centered, uplifted but not like two cakes on a plate) and the comfort – it literally is the only bra of mine that I can comfortably wear for an 11 hour day.
The band on this bra fits OK. I find the fabric rough and scratchy. The underwires poke me under the arms. The gore is close to tacking but not quite. The top of the right cup wrinkles but the top of the left cup looks OK. There is some minor strap gap on both sides. This bra gives me a strange, "square" boob shape. I might try it in a bigger cup, though I am concerned that this might make the wrinkling issue worse. I will probably be returning this bra.
Another bra that's not for me. While the band feels OK, the rest is all wrong: the fabric is rough and scratchy, the underwires are too long and poke me in the Tail of Spence, I can't fill the top of the cups so it wrinkles, and the bottom of the cups isn't deep enough so I get a weird square boob shape. I will return this bra.
I remember being super excited to see this pattern come out. 1) blue lace 2) not floral 3) blue!
Fits as expected for Jasmine, still happily wearing it.
Oh yeah, that reminds me. Panache, get yourself together when it comes to bottoms. I would LOVE to buy matching briefs for Jasmine but they are not terribly comfortable. The style is overall an awful fit in the front for me, please make them higher, like the Clara bottoms, or add a third option for more full coverage briefs, like Orianne.
