A wide, fairly rigid wire paired with stretchy seamed cups. The center-pull straps should be good for those with narrower shoulders.
The cotton lace overlay gives the stretch jersey cups some additional support, but this is much less shaping than bras by Elomi, say. I get a softly rounded shape with my full-on-bottom, soft breasts, but not a lot of lift. The wire fits me as if it were designed for my wide, shallow breasts, so this is supremely comfortable. One quibble: The elastic edge at the top of the cups tends to roll under, which can leave a visible ridge under close-fitting knit tops. I wear this under woven shirts, instead.
I just bought this bra for pretty cheap off eBay to remove the t-back straps! I can't really comment on the fit, as it's not even remotely close to my size. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> The t-back straps are really cute, though! I had a hard time measuring the band for this, since the lace part of the back of the straps is attached, so I couldn't really stretch it as far as it would go. The measurement I put for both stretched and unstretched band are a best guestimate. Just based on how it felt when I tried it on, and on looking at it, I would say the band is true to size.
I got the 38DD in this bra before I started getting my bra fit right. I got a 38DDD because the 38DD fit really well but needed to be slightly bigger.
I love this bra. It is my favorite for fit and one of my faves for how it looks. I stay in the bra well- don't really have to scoop during the day unless I'm working (daycare- kids like to wrestle.) and the band fits well. I plan on getting more of this bra and will look at others in this brand.
