SIZE DOWN IN CUP. Floral Shimmer. Overall very pleased! Thanks to PetiteCollegiate for her review, or I never would have found this rare ABTF! I have never tried this brand before, so I cannot comment on differences from other colorways, but I will say this one is much like Comexim (actually a better fit than I get in Comexim Basic, I'd say neck and neck with my AP, and for a fraction of the cost!).
Cups- Borderline quad on my larger side, minimal gaping on my smaller side, so I'd say cups are perfect. Narrowish. They are not TTS (Cups in this are the same size ...as my AP 32FF and Panache Clara 32F). This has a good amount of bottom projection. Appearance under shirts is green-purple shape, which is my ideal. It's like I'm holding my boobs in the ideal supported shape. I get a weensy bit of buckling of top line of cup close to the gore, which I think is related to the straps being a weensy bit too far apart for me, but it doesn't do this as much as the other bras I currently have and it does not bother me/show. Band- on the tighter end of 32 but not horribly so. I am currently wearing with an extender on the first hook and it's lovely. I anticipate being able to nix the extender after several wears. Has a plastic vertical strip encased in fabric on the side where fabric transitions from satin to mesh under the arms (don't know what this is called, but it prevents wrinkly band under the arms and increases stability. win!) Straps- are thankfully closer together than they were in the 32F, which was the #1 issue for me, and are not rubbing or irritating at all. I probably move them in a few cm closer together than they are designed to sit, which causes the weensy cup buckling near the gore; to be perfect for me, they could be moved in 1cm. It's a very sturdy design. I feel like I could wear this on my 24h shift and still be supported. But it's comfortable and a U-back. Win! Strap width is 0.5in. Straps are cushioned and not holding a lot of weight. Gore- narrow. Yay. Wires- channels are 1.5cm longer than the wires under the arms and at gore. They are low/medium flexibility. Not soft, not hard.
Note, if you order from BareNecessities, their size in this brand is one size up. To get this UK32E, I had to order "32F." Read more 313 more words
It doesn't seem to be able to accommodate my projection and the gore won't sit flat. Feels like it's floating on my ribcage.
Pretty bra, nicely made, though. The 32E had side support wires (they were flexible), whereas the 32dd did not. 32dd was a newer model though; perhaps that's why?
Second try at this bra. The Floral Shimmer pattern has been made deeper than previous models, mostly at the apex. The cup has not been made and shorter, but it has been made narrower. It now runs about a cup size large--I am typically 32F and the 32F was way too large in the cups, this 32E fits me perfectly in the cups but the band is way too large at 33 in and rides way up my back. I'm surprised--I thought Parfait bands were known for running tight. I'll have to exchange this again for a 30F.
That's weird - I just got 32E floral and I have to wear it with an extender on the first hook. I'm just right in 32 panache, AP, and 70 Comexim. Maybe they have inconsistencies?
Thanks for your review - I was tempted to try past colorways but now I won't since the cups were wider. :)
Maybe there is an inconsistency--the 32F I tried before was fine in the band. I hope I don't regret exchanging it for a 30F...
After trying on the 32DD in this bra and getting a pretty good fit, I thought there was no way the larger cups of the 32E would fit me. Wrong. Not only did the cups on the 32E fit, they were much more comfortable. The band also felt much more comfortable (not quite as snug) as the band on the 32DD despite being the exact same measurements. There is no quadboob effect on my larger side (left side) in this one, and as long as I swoop and scoop first no gaping on my smaller side. The top edge of the bra is ...higher up on my breasts but still follows the contour well with no gaping. The apex of the horizontal seam also sits just a little higher. The side wing and outer edge of the cup are slightly higher but don't come up too high under my armpit (hooray!).
The differences in the photos between the 32DD and the 32E are so slight that it's hard to see, but I was amazed at how much more comfortable the larger size was. The funny thing was, the smaller size wasn't even uncomfortable, just not as comfortable as the bigger cup size. Lesson learned, try on both sizes if at all possible.

Oh I can see the difference! Good for you for venturing further.
Thanks!
Just an FYI for those that ran a comparison between these two bra's measurements, I had two incorrect measurements that I have now fixed. The cup width was very wrong on the 32E and the cup depth was a little off on the 32DD.
The comparison probably needs to be run again in order to get a better idea of the difference in measurements. I also added two pictures that compare the two sizes with each other. Sorry for the oops!
OK, just checked and the comparison updated itself with the correct measurements, so no need to re-run it.
The band probably feels not as snug because the cups are bigger, giving your boobs more room to fit into them rather than pushing your boobs into the band & taking up band space. Even if the cups are minimally too small, it can make the band feel tighter :) Looks good!
Thrifted this bralette NWT a cup size small. It was worth taking the chance to know how comfortable it is. I’ve now ordered two more in 32G, my usual size. For a wireless, this bra stays put remarkably well, and the band doesn’t crease (my usual problem with bralettes). As someone who lives in a hot climate, I’m not a huge fan of stretch lace. It needs to be washed constantly to stay fresh. This fabric - modal and spandex - breathes very well.
I got this to tryout while I'm still trying to find my best fit. Initially, it seemed like it was going to be perfect. The band was snug but not uncomfortable, and the wires felt great. The trouble came when I decided to lounge (upright but slouched) on the couch while watching tv. The girls sank in like it was nap time. Even when I readjusted there was a ton of gaping at the top with huge unattractive lines under my shirt. I'm functionally full on bottom with average projection, soft tissue, so it wasn't a shock that a molded cup might work that way on me, but I was disappointed. I returned it.
This bra is elegant with its dark steel-blue satin and black lace. I've only tried it on, not worn it for any length of time. The cups fit the shape of my boobs well, but they are at least one size too small and I'll need to go up to an F or G. (I'm just getting started with finding my correct fit). The band feels pretty stretchy and is comfortable. The cups have a soft lining and the inside seams are flat; I don't think they would irritate my skin. I really like the feel of this bra - being molded and seamed at the same time gives it a very secure-feeling shape, and the mesh sides seem like they would breathe. If you're concerned about smoothness, the lace and the layers of satin on the sides of the cups do show through a T-shirt. I bought this bra on a final sale from Breakout Bras and the style is discontinued. However, it's still available from various sources online.

I never ended up wearing this because it's stiff and not comfortable. It looked fabulous at the store, but maybe I should have gone up a band size? It has great lift, it's pretty - has that burlesque-ish aesthetic going for it what with the red satin. Alas.
There is mainly one annoying feature of this bra that keeps it from being a perfect fit for me: the straps are very wide-set in the front so I get a fair amount of gaping (especially on my smaller side) with anything less than perfect posture. (The straps measure 12" apart while wearing it, whereas I really need 11".) It has other fit issues too, but this one is a pet-peeve of mine.
Construction wise, this seems very comparable to the LeMystere Safari (#9978). In some ways I like this one better and in other ways I like the Safari better. The Wendy is shaped slightly more rounded than ...the Safari and it manages center fullness better than the Safari, without pulling the girls too close together. Even though the cups 'look' the same and measure virtually the same, I get some buckling in the bottom of the cups on the Safari whereas I don't have that problem with the Wendy. These cups are also softer and not as thick. However, the seams are much more visible on the Wendy than the Safari. The straps on both are similarly wide-set. Likewise for both, the shape of the band, with it's shorter wings, are better suited for a straight torso, without a lot of V shape. Neither one is very good at managing back-fat or fluffy underarm Lats. The Safari's straps are only partially adjustable whereas the Wendy's are fully adjustable; a little less bounce with the Safari. But again, that's personal preference. The gore on both are almost the same height and shape.
I do love the soft fabrics on the Wendy better than the Safari. Molded cups are thin, soft and flexible. Gives wonderful push-up without padding. Gives awesome cleavage! A perfect 7" width between apexes with no flattening in the middle (like the Safari does).
Summary of my point deductions... #1: I prefer the straps set closer to center, not way out to my armpits. #2: I prefer the wings to be a little taller. With this bra I get some underarm bulge (not breast tissue) that's less than attractive. It's not back fat but middle aged fluffy Lats from my V shaped torso. #3: I prefer 3 hooks (like the Safari) rather than 2. #4: I definitely don't like to see seams. (Given the choice I'd rather see nipples... at least you know they belong there!)
The bottom line why I returned it: Gaping from wide-set straps, low wings and visible seams. Read more 300 more words
The cups ran a bit small in this one for me so I sized up. Lace elastic edge cuts into bigger breast ever so slightly, but not enough to make a difference. My smaller breast has a little extra room so can't size up. The gore dug into my sternum a bit, but this was mostly resolved by bending it back w the help of some pliers for stabilization. The band seems to run a bit snug; think I will try a 34dd. I may keep this anyways-- the first bra I have tried that I can say actually fits!!
I would not size up in this if I were you! The band will stretch with wear and wash! I looks really good and I am glad it is comfy. It looks like you could still push it up into your IMF just a little bitty bit. Wanted to note to you that these wires are about the same width as your curvy Kate bras. I think you just prefer a more full coverage, taller side wire/wings than the curvy Kate bras you have tried.
LeProfessor, I think you are right about preferring fuller coverage. I have always worn full coverage bras. I have worn the VS perfect fit bra for at least 5 years or so, and it pretty much encapsulates your boobs.
Any recommendations for bras w similar fit/wires that are fuller coverage/higher wings?
This was a gift for my aunt. I introduced her to her actual bra size and then helped her out by ordering her a few starters. While it wasn't a perfect fit she still said its one of the best fits she has ever had. She claims it is both comfortable and sturdy https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
Right out of the package, this looks like a nice quality bra: stretch bands with a mesh liner; flexible boning under the arms for side support; a low gore that doesn't cut into breast tissue; a very pretty pattern on the overlay of the cups (reminds me of ripples in the water); a soft 1/8" foam in the cups, molded but flexible; underwires designed for wide & shallow; fully adjustable straps. Unfortunately for me, the open cup is also designed for FoT, and my "functionally FoB" just isn't enough to fill it.
Everything fit on this one except it gaped when I 'slouched'. Gore was low enough not to sit on breast tissue, hence not as much center support, and consequently gave butt cleavage. I would have kept it if it weren't for the gaping.
I was excited to try this bra, but was skeptical it would work for me. It fit better than expected! The band is comfortable and not too tight for me. The cups were narrow and fit well with no gaping. I loved the color and fabric - the satin on the side/bottom is super pretty - and my partner was enthusiastic when I took it out of the package (he normally doesn't show preference when bras arrive).
Sadly I didn't love the way it made my breasts look. I didn't get great cleavage. Underneath a shirt, there was a pointy-down angle, and the seams showed through. The straps dug in a little and were bothersome by my arms. I'll be returning it, but it is a beautiful bra!
Pretty bra, but not much there structurally. The cups feel very stretchy which doesn't help to support. I'm bouncing while I'm walking. Haha. The wires seem to be softer than what I'm used to with my Cleo bras so they don't lay flat. If I press the gore down, I get quadding. Also the straps seem to be too wide and I feel like they force my boobs away from my center chest and almost flatten them? I'm still going to give this one a try with a tight shirt and maybe that will improve things.
Mold cups are tricky. This one is a little small on my larger side or the wrong time of the month. Better fit though for me than the deco or molded Cleo and panache bras. No gapping https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
Very nice bra, comfortable fit. My only problem is I couldn't fill the top of the cup. This may be better for someone with even fullness or more full on top. My band measures at 33, so the band was a bit on the snug side, but not uncomfortably so.
I'm still trying to get the hang of how to correctly use bratabase. I wish I knew how to choose only the correct styles and sizes in the future... After comparing this bra to one that actually fits me well (the Cleo Lori 7221 30E), I realized this bra is WAY too wide in the cup for me. The gore doesn't sit anywhere near flat. The cups are not too small per se, I think the style is just wrong for me. I'm not entirely sure this style will fit anyone correctly in the 32E. The cups just seems to take up a disproportionate amount of the band length (35.5 ...cm, more than half of the unstretched band), though I suppose that is why the band stretches up to 80 cm (but it would be quite tight then). If it did happen to fit you, the underwire could use a little more padding, but it looks nice and the convertibility to a full strapless bra is quite nice.
I would love to hear if anyone has any suggestions for great bras that have a smaller cup width (13 cm), similar band size (comfortably fits a 70-72cm waist), similar cup depth (24cm), narrower wire length (20-24cm) and narrow cup separation (<2cm). Read more 98 more words
However, those cups look super big on you. your cup measurement is half an inch bigger than other of that same size. I wonder if its a bad one, wrong cups?
Will put in measurements soon
