  1. Charlotte Padded Bra (6901)

    Didn't fit

This bra is an enigma. By all accounts, it shouldn't work for me - it's said to be shallow, not good for full-on-top, etc. And yet I really, really like it. The 34J is the wrong size (I should've checked Bratabase first...), so I do get quad boob, but I am hoping to return it for a better fit.

Despite the sizing issues, the Charlotte is comfortable and supportive. The band is really wonderful. It has a 4-hook closure (!), which almost seems like overkill until you put it on. It feels so nice, by far the best of any full-bust bras ... I've tried.

The cups are designed to work almost like rounded shelves. It's an interesting effect, pushing my breasts rather more upward than I've seen in other bras (I don't wear padded bras much, can you tell?).

I think that's why I can get away with a shallower measurement here. A lot of my tissue isn't in the cups at all, but instead re-distributed up above to create an overall taller breast shape. (I have soft breasts, so they are rather open to suggestion, if you will.) As seen from the front, the effect kind of reminds me of augmented breasts. This may or may not be your cup of tea. I'm not sure I'd want this look every single day, but it could be fun on occasion.

The Charlotte feels very sexy to me for other reasons, namely the lovely black contrast, the supportive band, and the mix of fabrics/textures. It's fun to touch and to look at, and it feels like it would hold up over time.

A bra that is beautiful, comfortable, and affordable is nothing to be sneezed at. I will definitely try again in a 34JJ - I don't think I'm too far off with this one. ( *Why* does it work, though? Such a mystery, makes me question everything I thought I knew about my shape. I will have to ask the experts here.)

  2. Sophia Unlined Wire Bra (7402)

There is almost no immediate projection. I would say this bra runs small in the cup and the shape is shallow. I love how wide the straps are, and that they are fully adjustable. The nude color is very pink-toned! This bra does not give the "front and center" shape that I like; instead, I feel like when I walk in it, my arms hit the sides of my boobs. I do like that the gore is lower than the balconettes that I wear, but this bra definitely does not fit. I compared it to my Cleo Marcie (36HH), and the wires seem to map on almost perfectly. So, if you prefer narrower wires, the Sophia may be good for you, though they are about a half an inch taller in the armpit than the Marcie wires.

    Returning ASAP!

    Hasn't set fit

The cup depth is the same for the 34HH and the 34J. Therefore this bra still doesn't tack and I still get quad boob. All they did was increase the wire length thus building up the armpit area of the bra. My boobs are not in my armpit. If I buy a cup size bigger I expect the cup to be (gasp) bigger. These big bust companies can be so frustrating sometimes. I guess I'll have to stick to my Panache Jasmines for now.

This bra is not owned any more
