The lace on this was just ridiculous. I cut most of it off and now it’s much more comfortable. I think I needed maybe a cup or two bigger though, I find myself a bit squished and spilling out of the top because of it.
Decided to cut the tags and keep it for a while. Wore it for an 8-hour actual physical work day.
WIRE: a little squishy, but comfy. Definitely has a squidgey squeak problem when I move a lot. CUP: Not quite the immediate depth I need, as evidenced by the pull lines on the outer layer of fabric. When the bra shimmies down a smidge, the apex fits my apex better and the rest of the cup (top part) does, too. The cup is amazingly comfy, I assume because the fabric is (or is like) cotton. There is the usual gaping at the strap attachment point. Oddly, the elastic along the top ...quads a bit after I sc/swoop and the lace edge on the outside flares out. I think this bra expects my boobs to have a lot more upper projection, so the cup fit isn't right. It is acceptable for me right now. STRAPS: Obviously way too wide-set, but does not cut into underarm like most bras. I know it doesn't fit right and when I put my arms forward, the gape on the outside upper portions of breasts is silly-huge, but at this point in the day it does not hurt me whatsoever, so I'm accepting it. BAND: Slightly too big. Ever so slightly. I hooked the top hook 1 column in and it helped. I normally would wear it on the middle set (with the top hook on the inside set), but on a day like today when I'm moving a lot, the other setting was a better choice.
Aesthetics: I think it's pretty in a cotton lace sort of way. Not in a sexy way. Overall: This was my first wear. I will keep this bra.
I really wish it came in a 34GG.
********
SECOND WEARING: Not so sure about this side sling thing. It does weird things to my boobs when I raise my elbows over my head. The wires are a little too easily squidged wider than I need, too.
Maybe it's the wire being too wide that is causing the side/under sling thing to cut INTO my boobs instead of lying on their surfaces and supporting? So if the wire were in the correct spot on the outsides, the sling part would follow the angle of my boob instead of the angle of my ribcage?
Still. It's incredibly comfy for not really fitting correctly.
******* After more wearings and a little weight loss:
I wear it, sometimes, but it's just not right for me. I have to wear it on the tightest hooks most of the time now and that moves the cups outward too much, making the wideset-strap issue more of a problem for me.
I am going to try to get this in a 34G to see if it solves my problems. This size I'll list now and keep as a backup for emergencies until it sells. Read more 368 more words
I understand others have advised to go up a cup and band size, but I think I should have gone up only in band size. I've noticed I have a tendency to not be able to fully fill out the top of the cups, but the rest is fine. Nevertheless, I still would recommend this bra to others because it's so aesthetically appealing.
It's really pretty, unfortunately I can't quite fill it, but everywhere seems to be fine. I have the Charlotte in a 34G and it fits perfectly fine. Then again, the cup apparently runs small. So, I'm unsure if the Athena is true to fit or not. However, I do know the design of the top is going to push outwards. I've checked a few other reviews and they say the same about the top. It could probably work with an undershirt. That way it can be held down underneath your regular clothing.
I bought this bra because it was on clearance and the only one above a DD. The cups are too small and the straps are always sliding down. If it came in a larger cup size, I think it might be a better fit.
I had high hopes for this bra since I've been hunting for a nude, non-seamed bra for sheer/tight tops. This was a bit of a shape mismatch for my narrow, projected, FOB breasts. The cup is too small and the gore floats tips away from my sternum. I'm getting quadding and my breasts feel like they're falling out of the center.
More importantly, it doesn't feel supportive and is pretty uncomfortable immediately after putting it on. After wearing it a few hours it gets much more uncomfortable and the underwire leaves deep red marks. It feels like the feel weight of my breasts is sitting on the underwires which seems strange because I expected the extra row of hooks to provide more support than 2-row bras (like my best-fitting Cleos).
This bra does not work for me . I bought on a bra transfer for a friend who will have to wear bra extender to fit around her comfortably. I did try it on with bra extender, so the band is too small for me. Also ,the cups are too big and wrinkels on the sides and top. Also , the wires are too long and poke into my armpit area. I think it will work for my friend though.
It fit better than expected based on my experience with Curvy Kate. I assumed it would be okay for nightwear, the intended purpose, but it is good enough to wear as a slip. The cups are wide and shallow, but they are open on top, so it doesn't look bad. I find that the lace on the straps sticks up; I am likely to cut it off. The slip material feels fragile and it is just wide enough for my big booty. You'd think it would flare a little but it's pretty straight. If the slip portion does fall apart, it's still a pretty bra. I found this one on sale so I gambled on the size. In bras, I am a 32/34 H/HH, so this is kind of sister sizing. I like it enough that I ordered a black one in 34G, although I fully anticipate major quadraboob.
This bra doesn't suit my breast shape, or perhaps it's too small? Maybe I can't wear a plunge style with molded cups. My boobs seem to be falling out between the cups, and there is a lot of empty space at the top of the cups. The gore doesn't tack, so probably the band is too small. It seems that my breasts are too full near the center to be contained by this plunge.
This bra is extremely sturdy. The back band is wide and will spread about the pressure. It may look like a lot of bra off your body, but on it I did not find it looked ginormous. Even the straps are wide which contributes to comfort.
The band runs tight, and the side boning reinforces me using my larger band size. I had to go up two cup sizes for the red version. The new purple one is supposedly truer to size.
The wires go up high on the sides. The cup width feels narrow to medium, and depth is pretty shallow. Would not recommend if you're very projected.
The attached review is of an old size I wore with four hooks. Four hooks is dreamy and supportive.
Ah, I'm glad you got them. So sorry this didn't work out. I had issues with falling out of that one too, and I think it was actually too small for me though I couldn't fill out the bottom either... I've decided this brand runs too shallow for me. I hope the other one worked out better.
Other one is too small as well, but I filled out the bottom okay. I'm really bummed about the Arabella, I love the look of it.
Where to start? Plunge bras and I are not meant for each other. I also have trouble with this particular brand. The cups are clearly too big -- there's bottom space and gaping on top, but I'm still falling out of this bra in the center. The straps sit on the far edge of my shoulders, which doesn't help anything. And something weird is going on with the center gore -- it's not the right length, and it's too short to hold me in or up. These cups are wide enough to catch my side breast tissue, but this bra has so many other issues for me that ...it's a disaster. My breasts are not at all full enough to fill it.
Quality is good, but in line with the price point and probably not quite up to Elomi- or Fantasie- level quality. It seems sturdy though. The band is snug -- I find that this brand generally runs tight. This one isn't quite as tight as the Arabella Balconnet in the same brand, but it's still closer to a 34 than a 36.
This bra seems like it might be better for people with more rounded, all over fullness who have successfully worn plunge bras in the past. I'd hoped it would work because, once you branch out from Wacoal, it can be harder to find these more neutral colors in my size. Read more 127 more words
This bra is meant for breasts that are full on top, as the too small cups both gape at the top. Meanwhile, the straps are spectacularly far apart, much further apart than most -- and straps in general are too far apart for me. The underwire is far too narrow and cuts painfully into my breast tissue on both sides when I normally only have to worry about the larger left side. All of the weight of my breasts pushes uncomfortably against the bottoms of the cups. That puts all the pressure on the straps, which...don't really touch my shoulders at all unless they're angled in by 2-3 ...inches on both sides. This bra gives me virtually no support. I wanted to make it work, but I was in a great deal of pain after wearing for just half an hour. The bra also gives me extreme east-west projection, and I prefer bras that put my breasts front and center. Despite the ample padding (which made me think this could possibly work as a t-shirt bra when I saw it online), the lace on this bra is very pronounced, and it shows through one layer of clothing -- it could probably be hidden with a tank under another layer. I need a 34 band most of the time, but this 36 is far too tight for my comfort. I might size up 2 band sizes in this one. The straps are actually long enough for someone with a long torso, if your shoulders are broad enough to catch them. Although I have tried several, I've never found a bra in this brand that works for me. Read more 169 more words
Really cute, soft, pretty. Band feels secure not a lot of stretch to it. I don't fill out the top of this cup however. It's fairly molded and my breasts are not full on top at all. This one has to go back.
This almost fits. Only the center gore doesn't lie flat. Oh Parfait, why can't you go up to a GG? Good deal for shallow, top heavy girls. It works the best on me as a racer back. The straps are barely long enough, if you are ultra tall, this may not work. The straps are also wide, so if you are petite or narrow shouldered, I wouldn't recommend this one. I love the little cameo hanging from the center bow. It gives a saloon girl feel. My boobs' apex is more narrow than this bra, without the straps to pull up the top of the cup, my boobs ...want to fall down in the cup and naturally fall toward the more shallow center. Still light years better than the Panache Evie, so I think I can work it.
This is very comfortable to wear strapless for a short period of time, like 2 to 4 hours. After sitting in the office for awhile the weight of my breasts were pulling the cup down, leading to orange in a glass. It still looks great under clothing though, so I'm just thrilled I can manage a strapless bra for summer. Read more 90 more words
