(To start, this bra is not my size at all, but it is the closest one to wearable.) The inside of the cups have a really soft lining. The underwire is very stiff. The wide band is nice. The very short 24" band is nice as well, but it is very stretchy and extends out to 30". It's wearable for a few hours. Frankly it's also just a really pretty bra.
Looks great after swoop and scoop, but band is a bit too loose and breasts settle out of it causing some gaping at the top of the cup, especially in the smaller breast.
I love this bra. It's a higher balconette which means no gaping and no spillage/quad boob. It's very comfortable (though the tag is itchy; I plan to cut it off), the centre gore stayed firmly in place all day and the band did not ride up. It's a beautiful bra to wear under thicker clothing - the lace and crystals would definitely be visible under a teeshirt.
This bra is STUNNING and so comfortable! It doesn't fit, though, so I'm going to return it.
I love a lot of things about shopping at ASOS.com (prices are generally good, free shipping and returns, wide selection), but one of the most frustrating things about shopping there is their arbitrary "sizing" descriptions. This probably is not an issue if you are shopping in the UK, but in the US they use the UK size and convert it to the "US size" on the website-- which is generally 2 cup sizes below the UK size (this is confusing as most brand have the SAME SIZE listed for UK ...and US sizes-- so you get a different size than the one you ordered!). This is not consistent, and therefore you never know what you are going to get.
This time, they sent me a UK/US 32F (the size is listed on the label as UK/US 32F! They are the exact same size!) but I ORDERED a size 32G. I guess I should have ordered a 32I (which should be a FF, not a G, but I digress).
Naturally, it doesn't fit since it isn't the size I ordered, and they don't have it in stock in my size. Okay, I'll stop complaining about ASOS (but it is relevant as this brand is relatively difficult to find and ASOS is one of the few places that sells it), and get on to the bra.
This bra is STUNNING. It may not come across in pictures, but the details and construction are beautiful, the material is very solid feeling and firm (no stretch at all in the cups), with seamless, unpadded semi-sheer cups with lace detailing along the top edges, and all along the band.
The band seems to run true-to-size or big-- I was able to stretch it (I stretched pretty hard) to 34 inches, so bear that in mind-- you definitely can't get away with ordering a band size up if you don't fit in the cup range (which I don't-- I need about a 30GG. Really need to update my bratabase measurements, as I measured originally when I wore a 30G best). Even if 32I was available, the band wouldn't fit right.
Straps are not fully adjustable, and have a ribbing/ribbon detail on the front-- and the straps have three gems on both sides of the attachment between the cups and straps-- a really special detail that I haven't seen before (and that really added to the whole experience of this bra-- it's tfull of thoughtful and unique details). The cups have a lovely semi-sheer v/ zig-zag pattern (since it's black, it's a very subtle effect with some luster to the fabric) the band is semi-sheer and fully covered with lace. It was incredibly comfortable, though I couldn't fully tell what shape it gave as it was a full cup too small-- slightly pointed I suspect, but I think it would look beautiful under clothes (and definitely beautiful and flattering without). The central gore seemed to fit a bit too wide on me (my breasts are close set but separate), but it might have been due to the too small cup/ too large band. I didn't have an east-west effect, despite that. The underwires are nicely firm, not flexible, so you don't need to worry about them distorting and altering the fit.
I'd definitely recommend this brand for anyone who fits into the size range-- I hope they expand their range soon, as I'd definitely purchase a lot of items from this brand if I could get the right size! ASOS: Mixed bag, but if you know their sizing issues, they are a great place to order-- just get 2 cup sizes up if you are in the US! Read more 516 more words
Pretty bra. Love the sparkle in the lace. I have to remember that Pleasure State has a stiff band. I would have been better off buying a 32B. The cups and band fit much better with an extender. My previous Pleasure State bras stretched out marginally with time.
Very pretty and dainty bra. A smooth and silkyish material which has minimal stretch. This is definitely a shallow bra. I bought this shallow bra among a few others in a “bra haul” trying to find what shapes work with me and which don’t, and this did not fit my projected breasts at all.
This band runs extremely small. I could not even close it without an extender.
Very stiff band as are my other Pleasure State bras. I can wear it all day, now though am happy to take it off. It is beautiful and fits well with a liner in the cups for nipple coverage. Unfortunately, I have had to have both sides of the bra, close to the hooks, repaired as the seam let go of the red satin. It was a 10$ fix at the seamstress. It should be good to go now.
I have bent the wires into a more narrow position. The bra now is more comfortable with an all day wear.
I got tired of the uncomfortableness of the bra and gave it away in favour of better fitting bras. Given the hassel this bra gave me with rapairs and fit alterations, I would not recommend it.
This bra nearly works for me.... But not quite. Firstly, it has a nice kind of retro sophisticated look, I think because of the satin. I think it looks nicer in real life then in the pictures (sorry I couldn't capture any good photos). The diamond decoration at the front is a bit too fancy for me, but if I keep the bra I will remove this.
I like the slightly plunge shape which just gives a nice amount of subtle cleavage.
The shape is ok, but not great. I am used to wearing moulded bras, so this didn't give the shape that I am used to, ...but was ok. It is maybe a bit flattening, although this could be because it is a little small, so it may have been squashing me flat a bit.
The wires were good. The body nice and firm, maybe a little bit too firm....not sure. I felt comfortable in it, but it was definitely tight and doesn't seem to have much stretch. If between sizes I would definitely recommend to go up.
The cups were just a little small with a bit of quad boob.
Also I had the straps as tight as they go. So, this could be a problem for others, as they don't adjust completely. Read more 108 more words
This model is Forbidden Garden. It was not listed in the possibilities - probably because it is an older model. I bought this bra because it was beautiful on-line and in person. However, I had to make alterations at the gore to angle the cups in a more vertical fashion and to shorted the cup distance. Also tacked the cups down at the center. Ultimate fit looks great. (Another however), the band is very stiff. While it "fits", my ribs ache at the end of the day, and if I add a lengthener, my breast tissue leaks away. I would recommend this kind of band to someone with less bony ribs than myself. I will keep it for its looks and it is improving in comfort.
Could be tighter in the band as I normally wear a 30 band size. The cups fit alright, but when I scoop I get some overspilling in the cups, but as the band is too big they settle in and my scooped breasts don't stay put. Oh well! Overall very nice bra. I think a 30c might have worked better and I feel a 30d may have been too big in the cups.
This bra is an almost-perfect fit on me. My only slight complaints are:
1. The shoulder straps are a little bit too long and tend to fall off my shoulders. I'm 5' 1" (155cm)tall. I'll cut & re-sew the straps which should fix the problem.
2. The bottom of the underwires very slightly dig into my ribs, which is something I often find on bras that have padding in the bottom. Again, I'm hoping this might be fixed (or at least reduced) when I shorten the straps.
I got this bra on special-order through the now-closed Pudding Lingerie, because the owner was convinced it would fit me. ... She gave me the option of either this one or the Broccato. I chose this model because the wing height is 2cm higher than the Broccato. I'm glad I did because I think I would have had spillage at the sides if I'd chosen a lower wing, as my boobs are quite wide-set.
This bra has solid foam cups, which I usually shy away from as they always tend to gape at the top, but I am very happy to report that there is no gaping or quad boob on this - the cups are an absolutely perfect fit. There is a bit of built-in padding at the bottom of the cups.
The band isn't very stretchy. This is ok, just an observation. I've got a couple of ill-fitting Elle McPherson bras with the same issue, but they bother me as they only have a single hook. This one with two hooks is fine. I have a 66cm ribcage and wear this on the middle hook. If you were a bit smaller in the ribs than me and thinking about altering the band, you might end up with the straps being a bit too wide-set - they're just about ok on my but I wouldn't want them much further apart.
The detail on this bra is really pretty. It actually feels a bit like silk, although it's polyester.
The label says hand wash in cold water. I'll be putting it in the machine at 40C with everything else, so I hope it doesn't get ruined!
My final comment is the price. I guess Pleasure State might be more affordable if you live in Aus, but £50 for a polyester bra is excessive, in my view.
UPDATE:
I have now altered the straps - shortened them by about 9cm, and now wear it with the straps about half-way up their adjustment range. This has fixed both of my fit niggles and the fit is totally perfect and really comfortable.
I have washed the bra at 40C in the machine (inside a mesh bag), and it was fine, so no need to hand-wash.
Band runs average and cups are okay as far as I can tell, I bought this before I found out my real size and now it's way to big in the back for me and too small in the cup.
First of all, the band runs very large compared to other 34s. I need a 32, but this was extra too-big. Not enough support for me (full on the bottom, soft). Gave me back roll! I returned this one.
