I'm still trying to get used to 30 bands. After wearing 32s and even 34s for so long, 30s seems a really tight, at first. However this one feels all right to me. My breasts are tall with wide roots and full on the bottom and sides, and that shape seems compatible with this style. I'm a sucker for lace, even if it isn't the most practical under clothing. I have a small amount of quadding in this, which I think is due to the padding maybe. Anyway, I'm pretty pleased with it all in all.
This is super cute! The hooks seem to be straining a little though, you might want to throw on an extender and this could also help with the quadding. Were your 32s riding up your back? If not, there is no reason to wear bands as tight as you can tolerate--you only want to go as snug as you need to get a secure fit. Leaner and/or more muscular people often need a looser band as there is no protection over sensitive ribs or muscle tissue, unlike a fluffier person. Some people mistakenly believe that buying bras that are too tight at first extends the life of the bra, but the "wearable life" you gain is canceled out by the wear caused by the strain on an overly tight band--the elastic will stretch faster, shortening wearability time.
Thank you wendybien , I think I might do that! No need to strain the poor bra until it burst. This one definitely feels a bit more snug than my Parfait By Affinitas Fiona bra! And for the most part, I believe my 32s to be keeping everything right and tight in the rib area (The only time they rode up really is when I had the completely wrong cup size) Only one of them was too loose. I noticed if I shimmied side to side in one of my gap body ones, I could feel the band moving too. It actually was kind of fun! Needless to say that one is gone! I will definitely look into getting an extender though! Thank you for the advice!
I just ordered a Pour Moi Amour bra, the unpadded version. They're so pretty I hope it works for me!! :) One thing I did notice immediately was that in your 3/4 view photo, it appears your breast root is significantly higher than the underwire. Does this bra have push-up pads in the lower portion? If not, I suspect there's a bit of empty space below your breast inside the cup. If you try pushing it up so the underwire sits directly in the IMF, does it want to stay there? If it stays, it should solve the quadding issue, but overall it looks too shallow for your breast shape and it will continually slide down to sit too low on your chest. The bra appears to be trying to flatten your breasts into the chest, rather than lifting and supporting. Not good! Even if your roots are wide, since you're FOB, you'll need some bras with more immediate projection near the underwire, that should eliminate empty space at the bottom of the cup. Hopefully that all made sense and this helps!! :)
Slava-Zone I am such a sucker for cutesy lace, but anyway! The bra does indeed have padding in the lower portion! Thank you for your observations, I did think it sat a little low on my chest! But I didn't consider that and the bra shape together, and the padding together! I will definitely keep my eye out for things with more space at the bottom! For some reason I'm convinced I'm shallow, but I have to keep reminding myself that I am not really that shallow. Thank you very much for your help!
I thought I was shallow for a long time too. I have quite splayed breasts so they kinda hide in my armpits until I lean forward or pull them forward, then I'm like "oh! i DO have boobs!" Finding bras with enough lower projection can be tough, but most padded and molded bras are shallow, so they can almost be entirely ruled out. The padding is supposed to push up, but if breasts are firm or very FOB, they just push the bra down! Yay gravity haha. An alternative if you really like push-up is getting a bra with enough lower projection, and make sure the top of the cup is very open, then put a separate pad in the bottom of the cup (foam cookies, silicone or gel pads, even a rolled up sock works!) and it should give a good, rounded push up effect without sitting low on the chest or having the top edge of the cup cut in. Glad I could help! ^_^
Slava-Zone Ahh good to know! My chest is both firm and full on the bottom, so I see where the kinda clinging to the bottom of my chest, smashy smash look comes from! I used to think my chest was really east west, but I realized that it was more a by product of wearing too small cups. (I used to wear 32Bs, then reluctantly switched to 32Cs...then found bratabase) I'm not really wedded to moulded or push up. I do really like plunges though as they tend to be tall enough for me. For some reason, I have this irrational fear of unlined bras... I've seen some lovely ones, but I just think bah your sad little chest with leave those unlined cups withered and empty...but anyway I digress! Thank you so much for the tips! This place has been WAY more helpful than any store I've been visited!
You're welcome! ^_^ I absolutely love helping others into good bras. Everyone deserves good fit, comfort, and aesthetic appeal! You can still have bras with foam in them, just make sure they have seams. :) Like maybe the Comexim plunges would be good for you to try.
Slava-Zone Thank you! I really appreciate that! In a world so full of misinformation about bras, its so nice to have good information! I was actually just explaining this to someone in my program. This woman was making fun of another woman, because the woman said she was a C cup. My colleague was convinced that there was no WAY the woman could be a C cup. I told her that its merely a 3 inch difference between bust and ribs. Cup size appearance and volume is based on the band and cup size. Its not static. Not all Cs have the same volume. Despite this she went on about how the other woman's chest is so flat, that even if her C cup fit she was clearly just vanity sizing to feel better about herself....what..... Some people will never have a bra that fits, because despite all the information out there they are determined to ignore it.
Decent quality, bra is quite pretty- the main reason of purchase. Look of bra is pretty but the material is not super smooth like cotton. This is not to say wearing would cause any discomfort, but the look seems almost semi-plastic, hence the "Good" rating of Appearance & quality. The band is bigger than ordinary 30 bands, and verges on 32. Comfort rating is also, "Good" as it was decent enough but as the band was on the loose side, and the bra did not give a, "WOW, AHMAZING! " feeling. I am not of this bra size, which is why I am selling despite it not having been worn, only tried. For somebody else, this bra would probably be more of an, "EXCELLENT", depending on style preference. The best thing is definitely the pretty, flowery, grey & pink look of it. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
Overall a very pretty, supportive bra. Lace is lace, so of course it shows under thinner tops, but whachagonnado? Has a little rhinestone in the middle of the center bow, which is just adorable. I wash all of my bras in the washing machine and air dry them, and this one has held up beautifully, rhinestone included, <3 Bra purchased for $1.50 at a probably-a-mistake sale at Figleaves. Retails for $33.
-I like the design at the centre panel, it doesn't poke at the sternum.
- Very pretty
- Nice to touch
Bad: - The slightly padded cup doesn't cover my nipples. (I guess i need a cup size up)
- The band isn't very stretchy, so it doesn't hug your body very well. When you breath in, you can feel the band restriction. When you breath out, the band may ride up abit.
My shape is low set, soft, slightly pendulous, and narrow and short rooted. This bra was a shape mismatch, and it was also a size too small.
The quality of the bra was good in terms of construction, but the material felt cheap to me. The pattern of the material was pretty though. Band felt true to size.
I mean, it's ok. I want to love this bra. I admire the soft fabrics and delicate colors, but the size, underwire width and shape, and strap width are wrong. The overall shape is not east-west, but it's not super forward either. The bottom of the cup is a bit shallow. Buuut I'm so stubborn, I might just try this in the next size down. Also, there are A LOT of absolutely beautiful color options, so if I can make this work, I would be happy. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> This is TIGHT for a 30!! Max stretch of 28.5 before the underwires start warping. Wires ...are super duper U shape, like almost a half circle. As they are now, they're being pulled an inch behind my roots, directly into the space between two ribs. Feels horrible! As I ordered this from Brastop, I'll probably try to exchange it for a 30DD. Hopefully, with the wires not being as wide, the band won't pull them into my ribs, and the band won't be too short. I'm losing weight but discovering my boobs are higher and at a wider part of my ribs, sooo I don't know what I need as a max stretch. :/ The wire shape will always be too U for me, but hopefully this can be a comfy and pretty lace bra to wear that matches my skin tone in 30DD. *Edit: they don't have 30DD. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> Will just have to return. This bra did not support my FOB shape well and wasn't flattering for me. The cups seem like they're too tall for me and didn't land right. I do like the look of the bra, but not enough to put up with the fit issues.
This bra is a touch tight for a 30 band. I have worn it several times and I can tell the quality isn't amazing. I have tall, shallow but wide roots and this bra works for that but barely. It almost cuts in too much at the top. The way the seam lays it comes to a point right at the apex and sometimes that point doesn't give the best look under clothing.
I´m so disappointed in this bra. I have (/had) 2 St Tropez soft bras, without the foam+ padding and although I got a little pointy shape, they were tolerable, and 30E (altered to 28F) was the right size for me.
First of all, the cups are too small for me, even when worn without the cookies, Second, the shape is just AWFUL. Pointy + droopy, very bad under clothing. It looks I have very small boobs and they are pointy and droooping. Cups smash me and there is quadboob. I do think that 1 size up would be the "right size" but because of the shape, I´m not going to try. The band obviously was initially too big for me.
Wires are wide enough for me, I have wide root. But for my tall root, this is not a good fit.
This bra fits me well. It wouldn't have six months ago, but now tissue has migrated so I've more even fullness. If my breasts were more bottom heavy the top section of the bra would wrinkle and gape a bit. I think those with top heavy breasts might find the top elastic a bit too stretchy and lacking in support. The band feels tight but has enough give that it's comfortable even though it's a new bra. The gore sits flat and doesn't dig in. Gives a natural rounded shape. Doesn't do much for my cleavage.
I bought this bra as I thought it would be a neutral unlined ...bra that I could wear with white tops and not have my nipples show. Initially this was the case, but eventually it kind of slips and you can see them through the mesh on the top.. I will stick with moulded/ padded bras for that purpose in the future. The fabric on the 'eye' side of the closure is too short or something because when its done up the hooks get exposed and scratch me. It's really annoying! I now do it up on the second set up hooks.. which fit tightly. I know it'll stretch out but this just means i've shortened the life of the bra. Read more 109 more words
The 30 band was too big so I altered it down. My usual size is 28F. The bra fits very well after the alteration. I have wide + tall roots and shallow boobs. Judgeing by the measurements, the wires would be much too narrow for me, but they bend enough and the bra fits ok.
Fits exactly the same as the black one. Wasn't struck on the colour in online pictures, but it was very cheap. Glad to say that the colour is lovely in real life!
The cups gape a little towards the gore- normal for me with a moulded balconette bra. Gives amazing cleavage! I giggled the first time i put it on, because wow, the cleavage!
I think the band might be a little loose.
Edit- at certain times of the month this really gapes, but at others looks perfect
Kinda ugly- it's a weird bright yet pastel pink, much brighter in real life than in pictures. HUGE in the cups (which is strange, as i own a pour moi promise bra in the same size and this is probably a cup size or two bigger). Sent back.
Pretty black and pink (pink bows along top) semi-sheer bra with a puzzling fit. I am almost always a 30E, but this one is way too big in the cup. My guess is that it fits more like a 30F or FF. Band is good (firm 30), just a no go in the cup.
This is super cute! The hooks seem to be straining a little though, you might want to throw on an extender and this could also help with the quadding. Were your 32s riding up your back?
