The band on this 70F Prima Donna tankini is equivalent to a 32 band; it stretches to 32 inches. There is only one row of hooks. Nonetheless, I find it supportive and flattering. High-end brands like Prima Donna and Empreinte magically support and shape even in bands that on paper look too big. When dry, the tankini passes for a strappy top. I've never gotten it wet. I've only used it as a strappy summer top. The profile is round, and it's equally flattering from the front. The material below the bra skims my torso and is forgiving.
It's feminine and pretty without being frou-frou. The fabric extends ... an inch above the top of the gore, preventing cleavage presentation. This makes the tankini more useful as a top.
The only problem for me is the wires are balconette height. My boobs are so close together that gores higher than 1.5" or so hurt. I've worn this a couple times anyway because I love how flattering it is. I'm considering removing the wires and cutting them down to plunge height. I'm reluctant to do surgery on such a high-end, well-made item, though.
