  1. Dionne Full Cup Bra (9695)

    Hasn't set fit

My breasts are center-full, pendulous, FOB, and I have a lot of squish in my band measurement. My center-fullness is usually my dominant fit requirement. I suspect I have somewhat short roots, and narrow-to-average roots for my size. I also have narrow, somewhat sloped shoulders.

Oh, I want to like this bra so much, but I really do need it in a 34JJ, I think. Unlike 36HH - Sculptresse ยป Candi Full Cup Bra (9375) , the band is quite loose and stretchy. I can easily wear it on the last set of hooks. Sculptresse calls it a full cup bra and I suppose it isn't a ... balconette, but it does have a lower, more rounded neckline than say, Elomi Cate or whatever. Because the band is loose and the wires a bit wide, I do spill out of the top of the cup a little on my larger breast. It's sort of hard to describe but it's not that the cups are too small, exactly, so much as i have very soft tissue and the fit of the whole bra is just oh so slightly off.

The appearance and quality is lovely. I do with the straps were removable or adjustable. TBH, looking at the construction of the bra, there's no reason they couldn't be. ETA - by straps I meant the strappy detailing across the top of the cups, not the, you know, bra straps https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt=":D" />

    • Hi! I just received this bra in the mail and feel the same as you about the band. I'm starting to wonder if I should have taken the 34J (but I predict spillage, as I'm FOT) or the 34JJ (but I feel those cups would be too big). I just want the center gore to sit flat against my chest, like my 36J Panache Jasmine does. What would you suggest?

    • Bragirl808 Hey there! Unfortunately 36 is the smallest band size it comes in. :(

If it did come in 34 bands, I would ask how the cups fit you. If they fit okay, I would try the 34JJ first because it it is a sister size of 36J and therefore have roughly the same proportions, whereas the 34J would be just straight up going down a band size.

    • Aaah, ok - then I will sadly just have to send it back :( I had tried on a 36H at a store near me; the band was alright but the cups were much too small. Such a shame! I really wish bra companies would start ALL their bras at a 34" band. Thanks so much for your help! :)

  2. Bellise Balconnet Bra (6891)

This bra is great, it was my favourite for a long time. 36J fitted me when I was a 32K-KK. The band on the Bellise does run at least 1 - 1 and a half sizes smaller! The cups are generous. So a 36J fits more like a 34JJ or a 32K on the tightest setting.

    pros:
    - strong Panache wires, that are less wide than Elomi wires
    - tight bands (a plus for those at the upper end of the cup - range)
    - the fabric is so heavenly comfortable and soft
    - sturdy and good support
    - I have barely any underwire pain
    - round uplifted shape
    - quite front and centered shape
    - ... wires are a very good width for me (I need medium wide wires - EM is usually too narrow, Elomi too wide)

    cons:
    - why is this bra discountined?
    - why does it not come in all the colours up to a KK cup?
    - shallow cups

Now the shallowness of the cups is the only real problem here. But it also makes the bra very supportive because it keeps boobs close to chest. Since I have rather deep boobs, I only can wear this bra on "smaller days" when I can stand some shallower cups. I still think it has good projection from the underwire, I don't have as much empty space there than in a Elomi Caitlyn.

If you wonder about some of my pics showing that the bra is a bit big... there was a time when I was a 30K/ 32JJ - the bra was too big in the band and cups then. Just if anyone wonders why pics show the bra being too big. I owned this bra for about 2 and a half year now. It's still in good condition despite many wears! Great Quality I say!

This bra seriously probably has the most comfortable fabric I have ever tried in a bra. It is seriously so soft compared with sturdy that I never thought a bra like that could be made. Add to that the wide band and the curved construction of the bra in the front and I am stunned by the quality.

The best thing is the bra is too large for me. But too large actually everywhere. I almost believe it could fit if I sized down.

Vertical depth near the strap: 31 cm
    Near the gore: 17 cm
Where the vertical seam is: 29 cm
Height of vertical seam: 19 cm

Gore separation on bottom: 5.5 cm

I compared this bra to my Andorra 36J. Height where the vertical seam is is 26. Andorra is labeled a fullcup. Belisse is labeled a balconette. QTF?!

    • Excited for pictures!

    • Elphabra I'm swimming in it! :D Pictures won't really say a lot, but you can all have a good laugh :D

    • Elphabra Now you can see the madness :D

drownedsalad I think we can say this bra is very very tall! :D

    • 1

I never got why the Andorra is labelled as full-cup. It came lower than many "balconettes*. Anyway this bra... cup depth & band measuement (it's more like a 32-34 band?) sound like they would fit me o.O however 14cm wing height would even be unbearable for me.

alisa I actually thought about if it could fit you :D The wings are not high but low! The band rather sits lower not higher because of how it's angled :) And yes, the band is very very firm and nice :)

I figured we could send this around bratabase as a gift bra to see where it ends up in the end :D But in that case the give away should be conditional so that no one that doesn't achieve a perfect fit will need to send it further :D

    • 1

I mean everyone that doesn't achieve a perfect fit will need to send it further :D Only the one with a perfect fit in this bra could keep it. It would be interesting to see how it fitted different kinds of shape :D

    • You mean you would send it to me, so I can try it. If it does not fit me, I list it as giveaway and send it to someone else??

    • A band that sits lower?? Sounds really good. I'm annoyed with these "up angled" bands of certain bras that cause more back fat than there has to be.

    • Thanks! :) Wow that's a lot of bra. I wonder how much of it is the size on you? That band looks glorious, though. Does it seem shallow at the bottom, or is that just how it's sitting on you?
Hmm, I wonder if this bra is my size? My 36HH ariza is pretty full these days.

Also, is it just me, or does this bra pattern look more like a swimsuit?

    • Holy moley! It's practically on your back!

    • Elphabra http://www.bratabase.com/compare/dhnm7/ Here are the insights.

alisa I would say it sits lower, but it's not angled lower in the back. It's just expanded downwards so to speak. It's a wider band :)

And yes, I'm thinking that we could make a bra adventure give away thing about it and have people motivate why they should try it and so on. It could be a fun experiment. Braboratory in progress :) I'm still not completely sure about it. I have to think a little bit more, but I think it could be an interesting idea!

    • Oh and yes Elphabra when you say it you're right that it does remind of a swimsuit. Maybe it's because the cups are so huge on me though :D
