  1. Ultimate Run Bra (S5044)

This is my second Ultimate Run bra from Shock Absorber, because it's my favourite running bra! I bought this from Lingerie Outlet Store, and not only was this bra on sale for really cheap, but the shipping was also cheap and extremely quick to Canada (they shipped it on March 6th, and I received it on March 13th; one week later)! I'm highly impressed.

I've had the chance to wear it a couple times now, and there is no discernible difference between this colourway and the black colourway in terms of how it fits and feels when I'm running (except being able to wear it on the loosest ... hook, whereas I have to wear my black bra on the second hooks now that it has stretched a bit). There are only two differences in terms of construction that I can see, and that is 1. they've used a wider, padded eye tape on this one, and 2. there seems to be some thin padding in the top of the straps. The only negatives are 1. it smelled strongly of chemicals right out of the package, but that dissipated quickly; and 2. there are a handful of thread and fabric ends poking out, but I really had to search to notice them, and nothing seems to be unravelling, so I consider this just cosmetic; and 3. I have to wear the shoulder straps on the tightest setting right out of the package, but as far as I can tell, the straps haven't stretched at all on my black bra, so this should be fine for the foreseeable future.

Overall, I'm super happy with this purchase! Just for a quick recap on the fit of this bra, it does run about two band sizes tight (this is a "30" band that fits quite snug on my 25.5" ribcage). I prefer this bra over my Panache Sport for running, as I like the mild compression, it doesn't feel nearly as bulky, and I feel more secure and "locked in".

      Looks comfy!

MamaPagan It is surprisingly comfy! It feels really lightweight on, and I barely notice it (if at all) when I'm running.

    • 1

Definitely good qualities to have in a sports bra. I am glad it works so well for you.

Looks like it scoops well right and firm at the lower breast portion without a gap. Essential as comressive support bras could sit lower and contribute to a downwards bend right where vibrations tend to delaminate the skin from the chest.

    • femineaaeterna I hadn't even thought about that, but you're absolutely right!

Congratulations! What a great deal! The colours are great on this too!

My 32E - Syrokan » No-bounce Full-support Racerback Pro High Impac is favorite bra for running but band was starting to feel loose and since they don't carry 30F I decide to by a Shock Absorber. I knew the band ran tight but I was measuring around 28in at the time so and the bra was used so figured it would work. I can fasten the bottom strap but not the top one with out an extender. My rib cage also is wider at the top then it is at the bottom(inverted triangle) so that could be a factor. I still wear it but due to ... the uncomfortable tightness I find myself avoiding it unless I have no other bras. I want to buy another one but I am unsure of what size to get because the cups also feel tight or do the cups feel tight because the bands too tight? The design is very similar the Syrokan but the fabric inside the cups is taller on the shock absorber which could be also be why the cups fit tighter. The material on the band also seems prone to pilling but that only a cosmetic issue.

I own a couple of these, and I prefer the one that is one cup size and one band size up from what I normally wear.

    • 1

I find I have to get 2 band sizes up in this model from what I normally wear.

    • 1

If you haven't already tried the Panache Sport range (https://www.bratabase.com/browse/panache-sport/sports-bra-5021/), I'd highly recommend considering them in the future - they boast 83% bounce reduction, & have a wide range of sizes. I've owned several & find them really comfy.

    • Looks like it would give a girl a ton of support

    • 1

LustStarrr the panache is padded and has underwrite so it's harder to fit. The shocker absorber is very supportive along as the band fits

Best sports bra I've ever used - I have it in 2 colours and it fits wonderfully. It has pretty high coverage and keeps me pretty much wobble-free. There are 2 sets of 2 hooks at the back, which really improves the support given - I have another sports bra that just has the usual one set of 3 hooks, and it's definitely not as supportive.

It does fit pretty tight, but if it was any looser I don't think it would provide as much support. It's still pretty comfortable though, despite being very tight, partly because of the wide straps and two sets of hooks at the back ... which spread the tightness out a bit rather than being concentrated in just one spot. Also, no underwires means I could happily wear it all day (and night) if I wanted to.

This would probably work well as a minimiser under higher-necked tops too, it flattens me out quite a bit!

I've had my white one for some time now and it's stood up well to being worn 2-4 times a week and being washed (in a machine) on a regular basis. It's still just as supportive as when I first got it.

This bra has a ridiculously tight band. It fits like a 26G, and it is in fact a 30F. This works for me, but that's a big heads up for others who are looking to buy this bra. I've heard it still runs two band sizes small in the other end of the size range as well. Other than that, the bra does a really good job of reducing bounce and minimizes quite a bit, as is to be expected from a compression sports bra. Sometimes it's tricky to get in and out of, and sometimes I'm not actually a fan of how tight it runs; sometimes it ... just gets too uncomfortable for me. The other issue I have is with the straps. They're only partially adjustable and I was nearly on the tightest setting when I first bought it, so by now the straps are a little too loose, but I don't wear it very frequently so it may be even worse for someone who wears it more frequently. Other than that, I've had it for at least two years and several size changes, and it still works for me whether I'm a 26FF or 26GG because it doesn't have wires. I mean it's not ideal when I'm at the small or the large end, but it still does fine. I don't usually do super intense workouts anyway, so it's not a problem for me.

I am 25-26 inches underbust, and this is the tightest 30-band bra I tried, but not tight enough. I wear it on the tightest hook. It is great to wear everyday, travel or to do some lazy sports, but for running I would prefer a 28 band. Unfortunately, the straps are not fully adjustable. Under clother made of strorg fabric, the seams are invisible.
This bra is one of my favourite. It gives a good coverage and round smooth shape, and has no wires.

I purchased this bra because I wanted a sports bra that takes only a small space in my gym bag. The bra looks good and I like the colours, turqouise and purple.

I usually wear 28F but read here that it runs small in the band and cups, so I got 30F. I think the fit is good, the band is tight but I can close it. Funny how the bra looks almost a flat piece of cloth, but when you put it on, there is room for boobs https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" />

If I swoop and scoop my boobs to the front and up, they look ... a little smashed together. o maybe I shouldn´t S&S , at least not much? Some very minor quadboob is happening, but it is so minor, that I wouldn´t mention it. I think this is my right size but I´ll set a fit request.

The bra feels okay when wearing it. It is tight, but comfortably so. I haven´t tried it for gym yet.

ETA. I got a 30FF and it fits better, there is not any quadboob. So now I know that this 30F is a tiny bit too small for me. It is still okay enough for me to keep it!

A pretty great sports bra. It's not as bounce-proof as the Shock Absorber Active Multi Sports (4490) , but it is a vast improvement over the generic medium sports bras I was previously wearing. This bra is also lower-cut than the Active Multi Sports, so I'm a bit more hesitant to wear this bra without a shirt, especially during high-impact activities.

Overall, I wear it quite consistently and am very happy with it.

I absolutely love this bra! It holds my breasts firmly in place, even when playing ultimate frisbee. Even better, it has enough coverage that I feel comfortable going on a run without a shirt, which is nice in the hot, humid weather of my locale. (But not so much coverage that you feel like you're wearing a shirt anyways!)

I'm finding that with use, I need to tighten the upper set of hook-and-eye closures, but that's a result of accidentally ordering a cup size to big because of a conversion error between UK and US sizing.

I bought the 30F used. The previous owner had altered the straps to be shorter because she was 5'2". I thought it might work since I am also 5'2". Alas, it's not perfect...

First of all, I think I should've gone with a 28 band. I only went with the 30 because I heard the 28 bands are really tight. Perhaps the previous owner broke in the bra? The band isn't terribly loose, but I think given that it's a sports bra, it could be a little more snug.

Secondly, the quadboob! Seeing as I wear somewhere between 28E and 28Fs, I certainly didn't expect the 30F to give me quadboob. I think I'd have to try a 30FF or 28G. Of course, it could be that the previous owner altered the straps so much that they are really tight on the loosest setting.

Despite the band and cup issues, I still think this is far better than my Target sports bras.

This bra is much too small for me. I would say the band would fit someone who would normally need a 26 band size.
