I really enjoyed the Skarlett Blue Condesa Balconette in 30D, so I wanted to try more from the brand.

Upon first impression, I really liked this bra, but after playing around with the fit, I decided this isn't right for me.

The cups here are made from really gorgeous, soft lace that disappears nicely under tight clothing. It's a surprisingly comfortable style and looks beautiful on. However, the problems with this bra come from the lack of support commonly found in brands that design for appearance and comfort over functionality.

This style has decently wide wings, but the fabric and elastic of the band have a lot of give, ... so the band only gives medium support. This became a problem for me because the cups themselves are not designed with much support or structure. The cups are structured almost like a bandeau with light seaming in the center front of the cups for shape, but the top of the cups is very open and the cups are on the taller side. If the band is not tight enough, the cups will gap at the top when moving. However, when I tightened the band to the tightest hook, the cups ended up flattening me out and giving me pancake chest. This is because the cups don't have enough shaping built in, so tightening the band results in pulling the entire front panel into the body.

This style might suit someone who is FOT or has tall roots and is OK wearing the band a little on the looser side, however I am unsure how much the lace of the cups stretch as the effect on the lower part of the cup might be flattening.

Too shallow so it makes my shape a bit flat and wide. If I adjust and play with a band extender I can wear it but it seems like it’s not the best fit for me.

Unfortunately this colorway did not fit the same at all ☹️

Gore lifts a bit on the top (mostly due to my rib flare and uneven sternum). The cups are too shallow and give a very odd shape under my clothes. The straps dig a bit even when loose. Top of cups gap and cut in depending ... on movement.

It can be itchy but did soften a bit after handwashing. The band runs snug, so I’ve needed it on an extender for the few times I have worn it. I really loved the marigold and regret returning it, I was hoping to use this as a lounge/around the house bra which the marigold one seemed to be great for! Idk if it’s a quality control thing with the brand, but this Berry colorway isn’t comfy for lounging ☹️

I did try the 32DD - Skarlett Blue » Entice Lace Side Support Balconette Bra and it’s by far my favorite of the SB styles I’ve tried!

My recommended starting point was 32DD/E or 34D/DD. I teeter on the edge of both band size and size, depending on time of the month, brand, etc. I would describe my shape as horizontally center full, slightly wide set, lots of soft tissue from weight loss. I think I’m even fullness but functionally full on bottom. I have immediate projection that I need to accommodate, but overall I seem to be fairly shallow-average in terms of projection. My roots are average-narrow width and average-shorter height.

The 32DDD was too wide and had a lot of loose fabric on top.

My shape: Pendulous. Projected. Center full. Flared rib cage. Shorter root height. Average-narrow root width. Soft tissue. Slightly full on bottom. A little wide set.

I think I’m even fullness but functionally full on bottom. I have immediate projection that I need to accommodate, but overall I seem to be fairly shallow-average in terms of projection.

I really liked how this bra fit and felt after trying it a few times. It was comfortable overall, I didn’t feel any issues after wearing for a full day of work. Overall the shape under clothes was flattering, but the vertical seam is very apparent under tees and did have a bit ... of a minimizing effect that I don’t really want.


The Band - the band was more snug than I was expecting when I first felt it. It uses that stretchy spandex material that Natori uses on some of their models, and it’s super tight at first but tends to loosen after a few wears.

The Wires - the wires were firm and pressed a bit on my sides, but when I used an extender it relieved that pressure. The height was perfect, I didn’t feel rubbing in my Tail of Spence or armpit. The pressure was probably from the width.

The Gore - gore tacks really comfortably and I don’t feel any movement. I like the hight of this, as it contains spillage that can happen with my center-full tissue. I appreciated that it was wider than most gores, as I am more wide set.

The Cups - overall the cups gave me a nice shape but did flatten a little bit. Sometimes when a bra is too shallow it gives a very odd, angular, lumpy shape but this still was rounded despite being slightly too shallow. Since my tissue seems to pool at the bottom of the cups, I tightened the straps to remedy some of the loose fabric on the top of the cups.

I feel like this bra would give a nicer shape if I had more side support - I plan on trying the entice side support in the near future to compare.

The Straps - the straps are pretty wide set and shorter than most bras I’ve tried. I usually need to tighten my straps to flatten the fabric on the upper cup so it wasn’t an issue at all for me. I like the front adjustment.


I liked it enough that I decided it fit, returned the marigold for a darker color/better price… I have so many regrets looking at these pics compared to the way that the Berry fits in the same exact size and model 😩 Next steps are either repurchasing in marigold, and/or trying the Skarlett Blue Entice Lace Side Support Balconette Bra (334143)

Cup width is just a tad too wide, but not in an uncomfortable way. Wings go up slightly too high for me, but don’t cause any pain. It’s just uncomfortable when I move my arms around a lot.

I wish that I had known that it was see through, however, this was not an issue with me. Wear breast petals underneath if you aren't comfortable with showing on a cold day. Wash before wear to get the starch off and the lace will be soft and supple. It was a perfect fit for me!
