the biggest issue I have with this bra is how wide the straps are. On the right side, the strap twists and cups gap with certain movements. (this is a recurring problem I'm having with bras.) The wires seem ok, but go higher under my arm than other bras I've tried. I'm not sure this is actually a problem as much as the rubbing by my armpit from the wide straps. It's really cute, though!
I really enjoyed the Skarlett Blue Condesa Balconette in 30D, so I wanted to try more from the brand.
Upon first impression, I really liked this bra, but after playing around with the fit, I decided this isn't right for me.
The cups here are made from really gorgeous, soft lace that disappears nicely under tight clothing. It's a surprisingly comfortable style and looks beautiful on. However, the problems with this bra come from the lack of support commonly found in brands that design for appearance and comfort over functionality.
This style has decently wide wings, but the fabric and elastic of the band have a lot of give, ...so the band only gives medium support. This became a problem for me because the cups themselves are not designed with much support or structure. The cups are structured almost like a bandeau with light seaming in the center front of the cups for shape, but the top of the cups is very open and the cups are on the taller side. If the band is not tight enough, the cups will gap at the top when moving. However, when I tightened the band to the tightest hook, the cups ended up flattening me out and giving me pancake chest. This is because the cups don't have enough shaping built in, so tightening the band results in pulling the entire front panel into the body.
This style might suit someone who is FOT or has tall roots and is OK wearing the band a little on the looser side, however I am unsure how much the lace of the cups stretch as the effect on the lower part of the cup might be flattening. Read more 178 more words
Whew, this band runs tight! I've never met a 30-band bra that ran tight before - this really fits more like a 28DD.
The fit of the cups is strange. The bottom and sides of the cup are somewhat shallow but too shallow for me. The top of the cup cuts into my tall roots. I guess this is good for short shallow breasts? Or maybe more wide-set breasts.
The cups fit very strangely on me and give me a strange profile, so I won't be keeping it for that reason (and also the pink colorway, which is bright pepto bismo pink and really not my thing). The fit is slightly less bad when in racerback mode but still not good enough to keep.
The material of the bra is pretty comfy. The cups themselves are a bit stretchy so they aren't super supportive.
I loved the fit of the band, so I'm disappointed that the rest of the bra is a bit of a mess.
Cup width is just a tad too wide, but not in an uncomfortable way. Wings go up slightly too high for me, but don’t cause any pain. It’s just uncomfortable when I move my arms around a lot.
The Condesa Balconette was the first style I tried from Skarlett Blue, and I enjoyed it so much that I've tried a number of different styles from this brand. Sadly, this is the only one that worked out for me, and since my cup size increase, it is now too small.
The band here is the only one I have tried from Skarlett Blue that I would say is TTS for a 30. It is 1.2" smaller unstretched than all the other 30 band styles I tried (except the Fresh Convertible Stretch Cotton, which was problematically off-spec). This is actually why I liked the bra so ...much in the first place. The band is made from stretch mesh and has an enclosed elastic on the upper and lower edges. The cups are single layer sheer lace in a lighter color, and have contrast embroidery that matches the band and trim. This is a single vertical seamed cup construction, and it gave me a nice shape when I was a smaller 30D. Unlike many vertical seamed cups, this one is a bit more closed at the top, which made it fit me perfectly at the time. Now, it is too small and cuts into my roots. The wires also sit a bit funny at the gore since it is no longer the right size for me, but I think this fit fine when I got it.
Overall, it's a very nice looking novelty style that could actually be worn on a regular basis. It provides a decent amount of support given the construction and the sheer cups, and the embroidery is surprisingly not scratchy.

28E Revised Comments: Due to an increase in cup size measurement, now the cups are too shallow for me. When the band is worn on the tightest hook, the cups squish all my tissue and flatten me out. This is the same problem I had with the Minx Balconette and Entice Balconette, so it's probably safe to say that Skarlett Blue unlined balconnets are too shallow and don't work for me.
