This works really well for rounding out curves to create a smoother silhouette. It's lined, not padded, but the "Sensuous Side" wings (that actually do work at reducing the appearance of or encapsulating extra fatty tissue on the side) give added lift and a nice round shape. I love the material. Because of the added structure in the wings and their increased width, the band does not stretch as much as other Soma bras I have, but it still fits fairly true to size, just a little more snugly.
I had 2 of these, and I donated them back to one of Soma's bra drives before I wrote down any impressions; so this is mainly from memory (but the measurements I provided were taken while I still had the bra in my possession). I love the fabrics used on the bras from Vanishing Back collection. I know blending nylon and spandex isn't an original recipe, but there's something about this collection that just feels extra fabulous. The fabric is also stretchy, so it's forgiving, but also, well, it stretches and with only one setting of the front-close style its lifespan is shortened. The design really does significantly reduce the appearance of lines visible under clothing in the back, but in order to achieve this, there is an awful lot of material in the back; but, again, because of the fabric, the excess never feels hot or constrictive.
This is the perfect bra for doing nothing in; and I really enjoy doing nothing.
While this bra does offer some support and shape, I mostly just wear it for comfort as the next alternative to going completely braless. The band is 1 single piece of fabric all the way around, which adds to the comfort. Straps adjust in the back.
NOTE: When I added this to the database, I copied and pasted the name and style number directly from the company's website; however, the information printed on the inside of the (tag-free) band refers to it as the "Heidi" with the number 79984.
I love this bra. I know the cups are a little too big, but it's so comfortable.
A NOTE ON THE MEASUREMENTS I PROVIDED: I measured this after 6 months of wear and am now wearing it on the second column of eyes. Also, the form required an underwire measurement, but it is wirefree
