Is this tan? Is it yellow? My eyes are playing tricks on me...
*so close,* but I am just sized out of this bra r.n.
I thought I would give this bra a whirl b/c Syrokan has some decent reviews on bratabase.
This sports bra is available on amazon canada in band sizes 32 - 40 w/cups B-F, and 42B-E.
When I got this package I was confused as to what I ordered, since the package was from Ontario, and amazon said this would be shipped from China. Also it was supposed to arrive from 31 May - 21 June, so it was way early. Anyway, when I pulled ...it this out, I thought, "This bra is waaayyy too big..." but then I could barely fit into it, lol. I think I was just comparing it to my previous sports bras (tiny).
This is my first bra-sized (aka, out of matrix sizes) sports bra that is close to fitting. I can't really give you a full review b/c I haven't gone running in this or anything, but I will just tell you my impressions in case someone is thinking of ordering this model.
The good: 1) Price: $31.99 cad (+ free shipping through amazon), which is about half of a shock absorber or panache sports bra (in Canada). 2) Comfort level: Awesome.
The straps are maybe the best part of this entire sports bra? I mean that make it special, lol. They are fully adjustable Velcro straps; close up pictures are better seen on amazon. The material feels very soft on my shoulders, and I like the design of the racerback, it takes the pressure off of my shoulders (and I definitely want this style in my next sports bra). Also, the band is excellent! Not just a cheap fabric, it's ribbed material, which seems a higher quality to me. So, there aren't any zippers or straps/buckles poking me: this is important in a sports bra b/c you don't want to chafe! (and I've read some reviews of other adjustable sports bras having zippers or buckles that chafe: please, don't sign up for permanent scarring from your bra ; )
I sister sized up in the band, since they only start in a 32 band, but I normally am a 30 band.
I haven't tested it, but this is the kind of sports bra you might be able to wear for 8 hours. Don't get me wrong, it took me several minutes to contort my body into it : ), but it doesn't seem as super tight, or super compressing as some sports bras.
3) Colours: on amazon Canada it's available in 10 different colours. 4) Because it's padded it doesn't show nipples at all, if that's important to you. However, I wonder if a padded sports bra makes the bra less supportive? IDK, I'm just thinking of my previous sports bras that were all unpadded.
The bad: 1) I noticed that near the holes where the straps go through in the front (to be adjusted), the material was already fraying a bit (see picture)- and all I did was try it on.
2) What's so great about this bra is the comfy straps, but how long will the velcro really last? Lol. That's why they don't make shoes with Velro straps (well, for adults at least). If I was going to keep this sports bra, I would honestly try to just adjust the straps once, and just keep it there.
Anyway, when I tried this on, I am just one cup size too big for this. I'm about 30G, so I would need, imo, a proper sister size of 32FF, which they don't have in this style. Of note: some Syrokan sports bras do go up one more cup size, to 32G (US sizing), which is what I would need. Of course, they are sold out of 32G in their other styles, so it looks like I will be biting the bullet and buying something more expensive. Update 5-20-21: I noticed too much fraying on the fabric the second time I tried it on (to take measurements), so it's definitely going back. I also took off one additional star for quality. So, while the fabric is soft and comfortable, maybe it needs to be tougher for sports? Plus, is the band still too tight? even after sister sizing...I'm deciding to sister size up again, to 34F, in a different Syrokan sports bra. 28 band wearers might want to give this a whirl?
Update: I decided to keep this bra, even though I consider this 1 cup too small. This bra does really contain me, I even tried doing some light jogging in this bra, and I didn't notice any boob discomfort. For an ideal fit, I would sister size up. 30G --> 32FF, but unfortunately, they don't make this is 32FF, so I'm wearing 32F, with some mild quad boob on top, and hoping that I loose some weight! Nothing better than a comfy sports bra! This looks good on you, was it hard to get off? I got this one http://bra.pe/MGk6/ in a 32F and surprisingly it works great. I have about 5 colors now.
Happy2BraShop , Nice! I would say - because of the racerback - it took me about 2 mins to get fully adjusted into the this sports bra, lol. (ut I was also figuring out the best way to do this) Granted, you want a firm band (especially initially) for a sports bra - I definitely wouldn't need a smaller band. I pulled it over my head, then I tried to fasten the back, and I couldn't do it.
so, I had to turn to the front to fasten it, but the band was like *magnetic* to my skin, lol. I took a bath before I tried this & I accidently put on moisturizer, so I don't know if I was just sticky, but I would say that the band has a lot of grip, lol. Not only b/c of the firmness of the band, but also bc of it's texture, it's soft ribbed material.
so, maybe I should try a different model? They do have some that go to 32G (US)/32FF (UK).
I don't think it's as difficult to take off b/c one can unfasten it two places (unfasten the hooks on the band & unfasten the Velcro straps and take it off). However, I wasn't sweaty : )
Also, I forgot to mention, b/c it's padded it doesn't show nipples at all - if people want that look.
Thanks for the tip, I will look into it.
If I were to keep this sports bra, I would try to not adjust the straps very often though, and mostly just take it off over my head, but just unhooking the band. Otherwise the velcro straps would wear out quickly.
Happy2BraShop , actually I think that I will try the one that you like in 34F. Yes, that is sizing sizing twice, but I think the band might be too small for me on 32 band, we'll see how it goes.
Interesting straps.
BraOdyssey For me right now I’m 28” underbust and can wear the 32F on middle hooks comfortably. Maybe the tightest hooks on a good day. I don’t get too bad of show through for when I’m cold, but even then I always have a tank or shirt with a graphic on it when I workout. Unfortunately I get stuck in the overhead styles lol. So I appreciate the bra like structure. It also washes really well. Colors haven’t faded and nothing has unraveled so far. Also the straps have never dug into my armpits which is a plus for me. And definitely can’t beat the price point!
I had good luck with the Syrokan Women's High Impact Support Bounce Control (A196) in size 32F, so I gave this one a chance because I wanted something with more structure to it.
I purchased this in the color Magenta. But in person it looks like a very vivid, almost neon watermelon color with a gray trim. I personally love the color.
I can tell you right off the bat that this run very small compared to the A196 model. This particular sports bra goes up to a 32G, at least in the color black or white. I think that size would probably work much better for me. ...The band is snug, and doesn’t have a lot of give. It is a very firm, but soft elastic. I have to wear it on the loosest set of hooks, but it is comfortable. Nothing pokes or rubs in the wrong way. I feel this fits more like a small 32, almost a 30. Had this been a 32G, I wouldn’t feel as squashed in lock-down as I do in this. The inside of the cups is a moulded slightly foam like material. You definitely won’t be showing any cold nipples in this thing. It has a built in dent in the middle to help keep boobs in their respective side of the bra, but I feel you still get the uniboob affect regardless of your size. The back band is two layers of micro power mesh. There are two back band clasp hooks. The upper clasp is a 2x3 hook with the lower clasp being a 2x3 hook as well. The outer cup fabric feels like a cross between a neoprene and bathing suit fabric. The shoulder straps are lined with a nice cotton feeling fabric. There is an elastic adjustable portion that attaches the shoulder strap to the back. The front armpit area is cut in slightly so you don’t get any digging while in a push-up position. There is a small textured fabric detail on the front of the cup on both sides. They serve no other purpose other than to give it some pizazz. For the price this is really nice quality. I kinda like the double hooks, but aren't they super hard to fasten behind your back?
bubblegum , Thank you. I decided to keep it since I’m losing some weight. So it should fit in a few months lol. Actually it’s not hard for me at all. I usual hook my bras behind my back while around my waist, then scoot it up and put the straps on. I do the same with this, only I hook the top hooks first, scoot it up to get into it, then I hook the bottom set of hooks. I have a hard time with over the head type of sports bra. Lol I had one once my teenager had to help me get off when I was sweaty. These days I always go for a bra like style in the back. Makes getting undressed alone much simpler lol.
BraOdyssey I hope it works for you. It’s one of my go-2 workout bras. I own it in 4 colors so far, I have a 5th (white with navy blue) coming tomorrow off Amazon. Right now I have on the Gentle Rose color I wore for my 4 mile brisk walk.
Technically this bra "fits" but it's not tight enough, imo, to be high impact sports bra - I will stick with my other Syrokan for high impact, but I will save this for walking/hiking.
I'm wondering if a FOB person would have to size down an extra cup size more in the cups.
I think this style runs big in the cups (go down 2 cup sizes?) E.g., I'm guessing this probably would be better for me in 32E (and right now I measure 30G -ish)
I am tagging margesimpson since she also tried on this style. Let's compare notes, lol..
I sister-sized up in the ...band and it feels pretty good. Band is quite stretchy, but firm. For reference, I am 30" underbust measurement r.n. and this is 32 band.
Edit: I have read of different colours fitting differently in this style? Interpret that as you will. For reference, there are 19 different colours (last time I counted, lol) available in this style on the amazon, fun! But I've read of people trying this on in a different colourway and sending it back, ymmv. Read more 78 more words
Yeah it definitely runs big IMO. I’m normally a 34F and I think I would need 32 F? I’m not sure tbh but based on your review, I think you would need 32e?
This is my go to bra for high impact like activities like running. The band is tight more like a size 30 and the cups are true to size. I normally wear a 30F so this is perfect for me. I had the bra for over 8 month and it is not stretched out or showing any other signs of wear. It has 2 sets of hooks and the straps are adjustable but probably don't adjust short enough for smaller people. The cups have two layers which create a pocket I use to hold small items on my runs. It also has a headphone clip which I usually use to hold my keys. The bra fits nice and tight without squeezing the life out of me like other compression bras.
That looks nice. I'm always on the lookout for better sports bras! Do you find that method of strap adjustment rubs you after wear? I have a similar one and sometimes it bugs....
I never had no rubbing. the straps and the band fit pretty tightly so they don't move.
It's a great sports bra for those who are on a budget. I bought mine on AliExpress during the sale for 14$. I've made a decision to buy a 32DD bra instead of 32D because I'm trying to gain weight and want this bra to last longer. I have pretty average roots and my breasts are projected and close set. I'd say that cups are TTS, though seem shallow, and band is fairly snug. Wires are a bit wide for me, so there is some empty fabric on the sides, but when my bra is on, I don't feel any discomfort, my breasts are encapsulated pretty well, and don't move ...at all. It's not to say this bra wouldn't fit bigger bust, it definitely would, it's just really forgiving, due to its construction and shape. An odd thing is that gore isn't quite tacking in its upper part, maybe because cups are not projected enough in the center. It's not a problem for me at all, though. This bra isn't flimsy, straps and elastics are wide. Straps are half adjustable, non-adjustable portion is fully lined. On the back straps can be detached, so you can criss cross them if needed. My back is usually sweaty when I work out but this bra quickly absorbs moisture, so my back and T-shirt are dry. I have this bra in a "beige 02" colorway, it's more on the pink-ish side of beige (it looks yellow-ish on my pictures though).
I have 2 of these sitting in an Amazon package that I havent opened yet because I've been sick. I already sent one back because the band was tiny and the cups huge, but I'm hoping one of the new sizes fits, because I need serious bounce control for my workouts and finding a decent sports bra is a whole new level of torture. Most of the Syrokan bras are around $25 on Amazon if you're in the US, which seems like a steal to me if they work!
confused get well soon! I'd suggest trying a model with fully lined cups, not just insertable pads. And yes, band surely runs small, a 32 band looks like a 30. Also when you figure out which model and size you need, give their official store on AliExpress a try. I'm not sure how much shipping'd cost to US, but if it's free, you can save a little more
Short roots, short waisted, center full, close set, immediately projected, omega shape...
This is no Shock Absorber, but it is exactly what I wanted (no padding, somewhat stretchy, lightweight, breathable, wireless, supportive). I've had difficulty finding a sports bra short enough for my short-waisted self that doesn't dig into a tendon near the cup/strap union. Additionally, I wanted a bra I could comfortably wear all day. This is it. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" />
The slightly too large band provides just enough extra space: my tendon is comfortable, and my lymph nodes are quiet. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" /> The bottom of the cup does ...not painfully dig in like Panache Sport after just 30 minutes of wear: I want comfort for more than 30 minutes. Certainly the bounce reduction is not as impressive as Panache Sports Wireless, but it is perfect for my more gentle exercise routine (yoga, Kinect Sports, hiking, walking)
If I don't scoop and swoop, the bra is too narrow. But, swoop and scoop moves my breasts to the center where I quad a bit. This is not a good sports bra for tall, center-full breasts, but it is perfect for my shorties.
Straps are cushioned and partially adjustable. Currently, they are adjusted to 50% of maximum. The back panels are ventilated which I will thoroughly appreciate in a few weeks.
Although I do not prefer the minimized and sad profile under a thin knit, this is my favorite sports bra so far. If it were available in a 32FF, I would prefer that size.
Interesting, this bra did not get along with my short roots at all.
I thought you might say that ;-) Perhaps my projected pair is smooshed upward: it is definitely a minimizing shape on me. Hmm....
I think you have more upper fullness than I do and that makes a difference :)
Fitting our short roots is challenging. And, if you are shorter than me, oh my heart aches. I have plumbing wire cutters poised to shorten wires at the gore and wing of several bra that otherwise fit. It shouldn't be so difficult!
BraOdyssey was kind enough to send this bra for me to try! Technically it’s my size, but unfortunately something is off about the fit. Like braodyssey, I had to tighten the straps all the way to get any support. And even then the support isn’t that good. Maybe it’s too big for me as well? Or the general construction of the bra and materials aren’t firm enough for me? It’s comfortable and could be worn for low impact exercise but definitely not high impact.
The inside of the cups is a smooth silky material so that’s a plus. The band fits me fine although could be a tad more snug I think. I’m curious what you think BraOdyssey (and thanks again)
I kind of like this bra for all the wrong reasons. In my quest to find a sports bra, I actually sister-sized up twice 30G-->32FF-->34F because I was having problems with too tight bands. I way overcompensated, lol.
Well, surprise surprise this is too big. I do think - similar to Happy2BraShop who wears 32F in this style, that either 32F or 32E would be my size in this bra, since I seem to be oddly obsessed with having really tight cup area for sports bras.
I took off one star for the appearance because I do have nipple show through in this fabric. ...Other than that, this sports bra looks very put together.
Syrokan is a Chinese brand, and I think they're on to something with the engineering of this sports bra. Namely, I appreciate that all components touching my body are smooth. This is particularly important in a sports bra because you don't want to have anything (like, any odd buckles or seams) chaffing you, and I've read about SheFit having weird chaffing issues (but I don't own one). So, 10/10 on fit/feel, I can tell if I sister-sized down and felt a little more contained this would better for a sports bras; it's still comfortable
The outside of the cups - I'm not even sure what to call this fabric, lol. It looks like canvas, but it's stretchy. The straps are half-adjustable. Note: if a person is particularly petite, I wonder if this sports bra will work for them, because I do have the straps adjusted almost all the way and I'm 5'7, but that also might be b/c I'm trying to make up for the fact that the bra is too big for me.
People are always asking for a "sensory friendly" non-underwired bra on ABTF reddit, and honestly, I think doing as I did (sister-sizing up twice, lol, yes it was excessive...) in this Syrokan bra would work as a sensory-freindly non-underwired bra, because the interior of this bra is so smooth.
Overall, for the price and availability, I would give this bra 9/10. I'm not marking the fit on this bra, because it technically does fit me, it's just not tight enough. Even though it's so big, it still works as a low-impact bra for me, so housework, yardwork, etc. If I wanted to go hiking, I would want to sister-size down for a correct sports bra fit. I'm not returning it b/c it would have to go all the way back to China (note: this might be different in the US amazon, but for Canada amazon, this has to be returned to China) and I'm not sure how much that would cost, but I'm assuming at least $15 and it's just not worth it, because I can still get use out of this as a low-impact bra, or a lounge bra!
edit: I want to mention, since we are talking so much about straps today, that they did a really good job on the straps. You can see that the shape is quite wide and comfortable, and the straps are lined. Read more 414 more words
Aw man. Sorry that size was a bust. We’re not too far off in measurements. The 32F might be a good go. I know I’ve seen a dupe on Amazon of this sports bra under another name. Would Canadian Amazon have it with a Prime option for free returns/exchanges? This by far has been my favorite affordable sports bra. I think I have 6-7 of them now lol.
Hmm, that's a great question. There's a ton of different styles. I did get it "free delivery" through Prime, but for whatever reason, it's my understanding I would have to return it to China, and this might be a different system than the U.S. Our shipping is more expensive in Canada, and we often don't have the same shipping deals.
It's too bad b/c there's like 19 different colours available, lol. But this is now my new favourite lounge bra.
Happy2BraShop , I will inquire about the return shipping (I haven't taken the tags off) but I think it will not be worth it to return it.
To be honest I wasn’t expecting much from this considering it was only $19.99 USD on Amazon. But I was shockingly surprised on how good this sports bra is. The color is beautiful! It’s leaning towards a vivid deep orchid purple. I love the overall look and feel it gives a good shape overall. There are some seams on it but I don’t think they stick out too obviously under a thin workout tank or top. I definitely love that it hooks in the back like a bra, so no having to act like a contortionist to get it off when sweaty. The straps are thick in both ...width and thickness. On the outside of the strap it’s lined with a non stretch fabric. On the inside it’s lined with a soft knit fabric. The straps come in far enough it doesn’t eat my armpits at all, but far enough apart that I feel contained. The outside cup is a non stretch fabric that seems to allow airflow. There is a nice white accents on it making it look sporty. The inside of the cup is lined with a thin spandex breathable fabric. The side wings are made of a sport like mesh with holes that allows maximum airflow that also doesn’t hold onto sweat. The underband is comfortable. Since they didn’t have a 30 band I chose a 32 and it fits comfortably on the tightest set of hooks. I do feel this fits as a UK32F size. Overall I feel pretty secure in this despite it not having any wires. I feel compression, but don’t feel as tho my boobs are smooshed into my armpits. I feel pretty secure even when bouncing around for a Zumba workout, but I may not feel as secure for an intense run. It definitely fits the bill for weight lifting and fast passed walking. It reminds me of the Anita Active sports bra 5527 review here: http://bra.pe/SUg/ only this Syrokan fits way better and gives a much better shape. Read more 232 more words
Thank you for this Review! I was thinking about ordering Syrokan's bra directly from Aliexpress, I was worried though that any of available sizes won't fit. My usual size is 30FF, do you think 32F (as far as I recall this is biggest cup + smallest band) will fit? :)
The j-hook on mine just rotated. When I rotated it in between the two strap layers, it was functional. I found no defects in the La Isla or Syrokan I purchased either. The bands were true to size and the colorways much more to my liking than Panache typically offers. I hope La Isla sells a Panache Sport Wireless soon and begins offering 30 bands. Great deals! Thanks for sharing :-)
This looks like a really damn good fit
Thanks for this review. I have been wondering about this brand and if it was just a Panache knock-off or what. I don't use the j-hook either. Maybe worth a try since I need a new sports bra.
This bra is very comfortable, I even were it sometimes when not working out. I would classify it as medium impact because I cannot run and jump but its ok for a stationary bike and lifting weights. I love the shaped U-back. The band and cups are true to size. The inside cups are seamless so nothing rubs the wrong way. The material inside is smooth dry fit while the material outside is rough/stiff. The seams on the outside will show through tight shirts.
I am usually wear a 30F and am narrow, projected, FOB, and have shallow tall roots. This bra is true to size so I have to fasten the band on the tightest hooks. In the beginning it took me many tries to fasten the bra. I would hook a bottom hook to one of the top hooks or hook the bottom together and not be able to do the top hook but now I know the top hooks must be done first. The bra has strips of extra fabric around the cups which must be positioned to help prevent chafing. My boobs still touch each other in this ...bra but not enough to bother. Once the bra is on correctly I feel very supported and its my go to bra for high impact activities like running. The deepest part of the cups is too high so the bottom wrinkles. The straps sit comfortably on my shoulders, not too close to my neck like most racerback bras. The fabric is quick drying and the colors are still bright after many washes and lots of sweat. I love the colors. They go together beautifully. 💜💙💜💙
Pretty fit and a very iteresting back. Love the possibility to tune upper/lower tension separately. Something I'll like to try on a non-sports daily wear deep panels bra.
This bra is comfortable, although the wires are wide. It says "max control" but I find the control quite light.....too light for the gym. Maybe it would work for yoga. The cups are so thin that they don't allow for a lot of nip privacy though. I don't reach for it because of that. The straps are adjustable and the band is a 3x4, so good for different sizing.
Sending back. Fit good in the cups, lots of support, just not made for petite frame. Wires come up too high on side, and the front side cuts into my armpit. Could tell in a couple minutes it was going to rub blisters. Probably would work for someone with broader shoulders/longer torso.
Nothing better than a comfy sports bra! This looks good on you, was it hard to get off? I got this one http://bra.pe/MGk6/ in a 32F and surprisingly it works great. I have about 5 colors now.
