I previous reviewed this bra in a UK 32E. Oddly enough, I'm in between sizes, but both work on my bust.
This is a comfortable bra with an ultra high apex for everyday wear under sweaters or looser/thicker fabrics. I tend to wear it in the summer under my linen button down shirts.
I reach for the Amourette when I'm not concerned with having a perfectly rounded, front and center shape. It's simply a filler bra. The lace cups are stretchy and give me a more conical, pointy, east/west look than I would like. I'm only not bothered because I paid a mere $12 for this bra on clearance.
I have this bra in beige in a UK 32E and in black in a UK 32F. When I experience weight gain or depending on the time in my cycle, the 32F fits more comfortably than the E.
This is one of my favorite bras. It manages to be practical and sexy at the same time (I'm a sucker for black lace). It is also very comfortable and supportive. It fit perfectly after getting my breast reduction, but now that I've gained a little weight, it cuts in just a tiny bit at the top of the cup, but this isn't noticeable under a shirt. I also feel like the lace and seams are not (very) noticeable under a shirt, which I appreciate.
An extremely beautiful bra that seems to be of good enough quality. I'm not exactly sure how to describe this bra, since it's a bit quirky. This bra is listed as a bralette and has a shape typical for them but has underwires and even extra bones in the sides. Notably the wires curve upward only slightly in the middle. Finally this is not a longline bra as such, but there's a delicate frilly part under the wires that give it a slightly longline-ish look. These unique features made me buy the bra. The cups and the band were true to size and fit me well when I ...was trying this on. Unfortunately I found out, having worn it for a day, that the straps that are very wide dig in very painfully into my armpits so that it gets uncomfortable pretty quickly, which is a pity, since otherwise this bra is great. If you don't typically suffer from straps being too wide apart, perhaps this is not a problem for you (for me, it's a constant problem). This bra is very comfortable. It's stretchy, so it can fit both my (larger) right breast and my (smaller) left breast, the right cup stretches just enough to avoid quad boob on the right. The cup shape is quite pointy, I like that look. Two caveats: 1. the cups have a lot of coverage, the cup starts quite high on the straps if that makes sense, so it can't be worn with low-cut tops or with off-shoulder tops. 2. these bras wear out fairly fast, they only last about a year for me. The elastic looses its elasticity quite fast. Still it's the most comfortable and flattering bra I own, I have about six of them in rotation right now.
This bra is so comfortable! Nothing pokes or twists about. It's made of a lovely, bright satin and looks good under shirts. However, the band will ride up over the day. Also, the cups don't fully enclose my breast tissue and the gore doesn't tack, so breast tissue falls from the sides towards the centre.
The lace border on one of the cups has flipped up, and I cannot get it to sit flat anymore. However, I have been machine washing the bra for 6+ years so don't take this as an indictment of the bra.
Lace does not feel particularly high quality. A bit rough and artificial-feeling. It is not visible under t-shirt fabric, though. Fabric all over feels synthetic but smooth.
The bra gives a perky, but slightly east-west appearance. I would not wear this on a special occasion or under unforgiving clothing; it is a daily wear bra.
Fit / Comfort -
It is one band size too large ...for me, but the band is firm without much stretch so it is quite comfortable. I can wear it on any of the hooks, but prefer the middle hook for comfort.
The straps are half adjustable. I have quite wide shoulders and lower set breasts, and I have the straps at between half and 3/4 their possible length. Women with higher set breasts or small shoulders may have problems with this bra.
The wires do not cut or rub. They are neither high nor low at the sides; fit without issues. Read more 91 more words
I got it because it was the only one I could find in local stores that fit to some degree and wasn't ridiculously expensive. That was before I set out to find the perfect bra. The band is definitely too big and has stretched out over time. A machine wash tightens it a bit, but after one day of wearing the cups ride up my breasts so much it's killing me.
The size issue aside, I can't imagine a more comfortable bra. Wide and lightly padded straps, molded cups, soft and non-intrusive materials all over, a generous amount of support...
The shape is round and flat. It's a plain-looking everyday bra.
Edit: I've tightened the band by cutting away as much as possible between the underwires and ~0.5 inch from the back (both sides), and it now fits perfectly.
