This Tutti Rouge bralette caught my eye because of the color: I really like this deep 'classic' green!
Fit: Tutti Rouge labels their bralettes in dual sizes, which can be kind of hit-or-miss - but they seem pretty true to size, with some 'give' due to the stretchy materials used. So the 32FF/G (sold as 32H/I through ASOS US) works out well for me. For reference I'm generally on the fuller end of a 32G UK size, and this bralette is borderline small but still keeps me feeling contained.
The band runs somewhat large, but because of its width I don't mind. Also since it's a bralette, I ...personally don't even want a super snug fitting band. Be aware that due to the strappy back, you do have to fasten this bra with your arms behind your back, which I've never been good at (but the stretchiness is actually helpful to me in this regard). I do prefer the self-fastener back over the pull-over-your-head back on Tutti's Hallie bralette though.
Support / comfort: To me this is quite a comfortable bralette, the band hugs me gently and the cups 'hold me in' with a natural shape overall. I generally don't require a ton of support and can happily wear this throughout a more 'casual' day. When I'm being more active though I would reach for a different bra, this is not something I'd go hiking in.
Look: Lovely! I like the swirly lace fabric, the awesome color, the 'simple' wide elastic band, the heart shaped sliders and the strappy back. If you mind your bra straps showing under clothes, this may be an issue in warmer weather.
The briefs (not pictured sorry, forgot) are a nice match to the bralette; high waisted with a similar wide elastic band. Somewhat 'cheeky' in the back, which is not my favorite style. Got them in L and they're a firm fit on my 31"ish waist / 43"ish hips.
Quality: I've worn this around 6 times and hand-washed it twice, so far it's still fine but I'm curious to see how much the band will stretch out over time. May have to take it in at some point, as I'm already on the tightest hooks (when I can find them during back contortions, haha). Also, the 'peephole' in the front seems to be really straining, and as this is just lace fabric sewn together I wonder how well it will hold up.
All in all a pretty bralette and I'm quite impressed by Tutti Rouge's bralette construction, size range and designs. Hoping they'll expand to G+ in the future! Read more 322 more words
I love this! It looks awesome on you! I ordered a few of these bralettes when I first started on my bra journey lol.....and ordered the wrong size. I was so disappointed because they are such pretty bralettes!
This colour really compliments you!
I love the color!
I have to agree with everyone else here that the bra does seem to fit very well and the color does seem to suit you as well
My first try of this brand. I chose Nichole because I had read the band was stretchy plus it was 15 Euros at Tutti Rouge online. I was not wrong about the stretchy band as I can get it on easily and can almost wear it on the second set of hooks immediately. This distorts the cup too much so I stayed on the first set of hooks. The bra, on my shape, is okay. Since I am FOB and have soft tissue, the bra lifts then flattens my breasts into a round side to side shaping. The seams of the cup also cut in and ...give a strange indentation. It really is not that noticeable though. I like the shape for under tshirts if I do not want to be all front, lifted and center shaped. Sometimes the girls need to be a bit more inconspicuous.
This bra would be great on firmer tissue and more full all over shaping. Considering who Tutti Rouge markets to it does make sense. I will wear this as a daily comfy bra. Read more 73 more words
This is one of the best fits of Nichole I've ever seen. I never could find a good size in it. Before recent weight loss and shrinkage, I could have worn a 28F in it, but the 30E I tried was asking for upper fullness in a specific place I simply do not have. I love this Cobalt color on you. It really looks pretty great!
Gorgeous!!
Agreeing with lcl0706, this looks like a terrific fit on you! I tried and tried to find a size that would work for me, but it wasn't to be...
Thanks everyone! I probably could use a size down in the cup but I suspect it would cut in too strangely plus my larger side would quad. A half size down in the cup would be better. Maybe it will firm up a bit with being washed. The sizing is definitely wonky on this bra. Typically I can't get into a 38 without an extender.
wow, thats gorgeous. I might've even had a chance of fitting it in a 34J. but there's nothing going that high i can find in the US, and only in leopard print. eww.
dbmamaz Ordering off their big cartel site was quite painless. They do take Paypal. For larger sizes it won't be super supportive but at least it's a nice bra for a bit of support when you don't feel like having your chest in your chin :)
This looks great and promising for me! Waiting for my order still from the sale they did about two weeks ago.
This cobalt blue looks fabulous. I am considering getting this bra in 28F. I Better check out their website then...
29.50£ for the Nichole currently on their website. :(
So Tutti Rouge is my brand and as anyone can see this is my bra.
Why?
When I lean over and hold the Betty bra around my boobs just to test the compatibility it's obvious it's the right bra. Everything simply add up. And when I look at myself in the mirror I see my natural boob shape, the shallow regency cleavage and really tall full on top boobs, the color that matches my skintone perfectly and makes my bobs look like those movies made of the perfect Jane Austen novels. I feel at home.
So how does this bra accomplish that?
Both Tutti Rouge bras I've tried (Betty ...and Liliana) has the same type of cup shape; A really shallow outer section that collects a wide root perfectly and supports the lower outer quadrant and so reshapes the boobs to be pushed diagonally gently in towards the upper inner quadrant to create cleavage. Everything is pushed in and up and there held close to the chest. There bras obviously is there to create cleavage. Everything in the bra seems to be thought out to have just that effect. The wings are tall and the gores are low. The outer part of the cups are tall as well.
My boobs are semi soft or even soft and sagged and they hang naturally at my sides where my boobs appear fuller in the lower outer. But with just some support in the lower outer they are completely reshaped into full in the upper inner quadrant. Since this bra is so shallow everything is held in place. There is no spilling anywhere what so ever.
I've read a lot of times how bad pushup bras are for boobs and how terrible it is pushing boobs up and inwards, but for my semi soft boobs there is nothing better than that. The so called front and center "good pushups" are terrible for me since I am naturally east and west and cannot force my boobs front and center by pushing them inwards. Pushing them *inwards upwards* however really works and is the most comfortable thing for me.
My boobs are seriously minimized and still mega tall. I can wear high street clothing in this bra.
Compared to for example the Bravissimo Moulin Rose (AU24) in the same size the Betty is taller everywhere but in the gore and less deep and with narrower wires. It's just wide enough to collect my boobs at the sides and push them inwards where Moulin Rose instead have me gaping in the gore because my boobs lack support there.
Cups are very soft, lined with some cotton fabric I think. The band is very curved in the gore so no band is pushing on my stomach! This makes me able to wear this bra despite what is the only problem with it; the band is too tight. It's super mega tight. The wires are even stretched backwards. But! I need it just like that. I cannot have it any other way, it's simply how my boobs are naturally shaped and how much help I need to have them as close to my body as they are when I shape them with my own hands.
There is no distortion in the wires. There is no gore attacking me. I can even sit like a couch potato and this bra will still allow breathing since it doesn't prevent me breathing with my stomach.
I have no intention of wearing this bra as an everyday bra. I go braless as much as I can. This is a special occasions bra. But it's also a bra I like when I see it hanging on my door. It's so beautiful that I can hang it on my wall among my tuelle skirt lamp and pink and purple light strands. It fits me both in style, shape and colors. Oh and yes; I also own a regency dress.
Now; I'm well aware bras will fool me and be comfortable in the beginning and then start to trouble me. But this bra is so me no bra can possibly me more me than this.
I really want to try this bra - I tried the Liliana, but it sat too low and slid down, and the elastics in the band were so uncomfortable. I wonder how this compares. And I'm also worried about the strap placement. All straps cut at my arm, because my boobs sit high and my shoulders apparently are narrow, so all straps except for the panache sports bra are super painful. Like, the curvy kate thrill me is okay, except for mega painful straps...
This review is for the cream-coloured "Betty Rocks" bra (british-theme fabric) in 28E. I also have a review for the Betty in red floral in 28F.
Me: tall roots reaching collarbone, very close-set (touching), average to narrow width, shallow, rounded, splayed east-west, FOT or even, centre-full horizontally, high set, short torso, broad shoulders, 26" snug UB and 34" leaning bust. Size 28E-F or 26F-FF.
Wow, this bra is shallow! Ladies who are wider and shallower should asap try out tutti rouge's moulded bras, especially this model. I thiiiiink I am shallow, but this small and shallow in the cups for me, I get extreme quad boob. There is no way ...I will wear this but I may keep it just in case I lose the weight i've gained in cup size in the past few months because the fabric pattern is so adorable. This band seems true to size. I also have this in a red floral 28F and the depth is more right for me, but it's a little too wide. Also in that version the band is a whole inch or so shorter, almost near a 26 band, which is odd and inconsistent (but works for me).
TL;DR: I recommend this bra to breasts than lean toward the shallower, wider, even to FOT end of the spectrum. Read more 109 more words
HHmm, I've been thinking about trying Tutti Rouge. This is swaying me more towards "go for it". Looks great on you!
Great review as usual. You make me want to try bras I would never have considered.
P.S. I love your manicure!
Love the review. The design concept of the cookies is rather smart, in my opinion. But, I think they would work best with something molded or lined. I bet they'd be great in EM or a comexim with pockets.
The Tutti Rouge Jessica is an interesting bra, it allows you to wear it 3 different ways. You can wear it unlined or with the boosters, and have 2 levels of padding to choose from. I think it fits nicely as an unlined bra despite the wires being a bit wide, but I'm not quite sold on the boosters, I feel like they give an odd shape, although it's less noticeable in photos that in person, so maybe I'm just paranoid about them. Full review on my blog.
I remember trying this bra on at a local boutique. I didn't buy it because of how prominent the boosters looked under my shirt. It's so pretty though!
That is the bra's primary downfall is the shape of the boosters. I'm not sure how it photographs so much less lumpy under a shirt that what I feel like it looks like in person though.
This is my 3rd size to try in the Nichole. While it still isn't perfect, it is probably the best fit of the 3 sizes. As usual the band on Nichole runs a size big. Full review on my blog.
The band does run large...maybe even 2 sizes. I am typically a 40 with a 39 inch underbust and I could easily get into the 38 and probably even the 36 as I could stretch to get into the 2nd and even the 3rd set of hooks easily on the 38. That's so not typical - most 38s I would need an extender.
These colors are intensely beautiful to me!! Lovely, amandafire!!
I just got mine in 28E, same colourway. Review to come in a week's time, but just to say i love the bra, apart from the killer gore. I don't usually suffer from "gore syndrome", but this one will need some bending. What a fabulous colourway - just adore it.
With the Betty, Tutti Rouge has come up with another bra that suits my shape but which I do not care for the look of. The fabric is about the color of french vanilla yogurt, with pink and blue poppies on it. There is lace both on the bottom of the cups and on the top of the cups. It is worth noting that the lace on the top is not meant to lay over the cup but to go above it, and on me it did not lie flat but bent down in a few places as if it should ...lie on top of the cup. It could be visible under thin clothing because of this.
Rather than having seams running all the way up the cup, the fabric is pleated toward the bottom of the cup. They've done a good job with making the seams lie flat and I really like the look of the gathered fabric. It also makes the pattern on the top part of the cup more regular.
The bra is lined and the inner fabric does have one vertical seam which does not align with the gathering on the outer fabric and which is not visible from the outside.
The straps are half adjustable and I am able to wear them doubled up about 1/3 of the length. They used the same heart-shaped slider as on the Liliana.
The back closure has three hooks and three rows of hooks. I typically wear either a 34 or a 36 and I found the 34 to be comfortable on the loosest hook.
As far as the cups go, this is the same size as I ordered in the Liliana (and my usual cup size for a 34 band) and both fit me, but these cups are much deeper. Women who had to size up in the Liliana because of the depth will probably be fine in their normal cup size in the Betty.
The wires aren't quite high enough to keep me completely scooped in near the armpit, and I think they are a little bit wide for me as I have some wrinkling on the outside of the cup, but all in all this is a pretty good fit for me. The shape is fairly round and slightly flattened: pretty much a purple.
Update Nov 22 2013:
I've been wearing this bra once a week since it was purchased. It has grown on me. I like the cakes on a plate look that it gives, although if I purchase the style again I will go up a cup size as it is clearly too small for me when I am having my period. It is close to being too small the rest of the time. It's an extremely comfortable bra. I am still wearing it on the loosest hook.
My shape: teardrop set at average height, with super tall and super wide roots that give me all the shallow-boob fitting problems but with more projection, very close-set tissue in the middle, and firm tissue that fights back when squished or pushed out of shape
I got this bra in an exchange two days ago. It's very cute, the Hibiscus pink is lovely and bubble-gum-y, and the sheer lace is very sweet! I tend not to like the look of sheer top panels on cups aesthetically, but the construction of the cup here makes it look sort of like another layer underneath and makes it much nicer.
The cups are ...weird on this one, but I think all the weirdness is due to A) too big (by a size or two), and B) the wires are too steeply curved but too wide! I've never had cups that were really too wide for me before. NEVER. My roots reach almost to my shoulder blades, but the curve is shallow and flattened, like the Nike symbol; the very round curve of the wire here means that, even though there's empty fabric beneath the root, the two lines cross each other and the wires end up cutting off the tail of my root. If I size down, it will help fill the empty fabric in the cup, and if it's like most other bras [whose wires are simply too narrow for me, no matter what shape] I won't notice them resting on my roots, but it will definitely put the wires on top of breast tissue.
Also not helping is the placement of the straps, and the fact that the sides of the cup are too high - not the wings, but the cups. Holy armpits, batman! Half the issues with the top of the cup might just be that! The band is perfectly tight, though, so I don't think I could size down without an extender, and even then the adjustment might not be enough.
I do think that, at the end of the day, it might end up being too shallow for me. Even though the cups have a lot of empty fabric wrinkling and making other fit issues hard to see, after studying the photos I can tell that the wires really want to sit farther down my ribcage than they should be, even though the band is pretty snug.
Pro Tip: This bra probably has the itchiest band I have ever tried on. I hope it'll go away with a wash or two, but if nothing else, that demon tag would have to go! The elastic edging the band seems to have a unique stitch on it, which may be the culprit, or maybe it's just that the fabric and I don't get along, but whatever it is, we are not friends. The cups are fine, but watch out for your poor back!
If I find a spectacular deal on a 28F or 28FF, I will give it a shot, but otherwise I don't think the Liliana is worth investing the effort in troubleshooting when there are so many other brands and models out there that will probably work better for me. Read more 419 more words
I am SOOO jealous. How did you get one of these in the states? I just can't stomach TR's prices especially shipping. But I've coveted a Nichole for quite some time. It's beautiful on you :)
lcl0706 thanks! :D It exists in lovely colorways! The new emerald/pink is a delight <3
I live in Europe!
Oh! Well, that helps then!
This beauty is on my wishlist, too. And oh sooo pretty in this colour combo....
Mostly it's a good bra, the center gore just dug at my sternum so bad I placed a cotton pad under it to make it more comfortable. I really wish there was a nice all nude version of this. This is one of the first bras that really didn't poke under my arms.
What colourway do you have? The gore is problematic for me , too.
I have this bra in the Leopard print and used to have it in the Papaya print. Both of them have really stabby gores. I know someone else who has that problem with this bra too. I think it's a common complaint. I stick a piece of cotton under the gore too!
Tutti Rouge was kind enough to gift me a Nichole as well as a Lilliana after I sent them my review of my too large 30E Nichole. We decided I should try out a 30D, I perhaps sized down a bit too much. I love the the Noir/Creme colorway though.
A real shame this gorgeous bra isn't a great fit in 30D. I love beige and black combos, too.
I had the same problem with flatteting in Cleo Marcie Balconnet Bra (6831) , Cleo Minnie Balconnet Bra (7431), Fantasie Marianna Padded Halfcup (FL9201) and 30E - Fauve » Lavina Half Cup Bra (0391) . I still haven't figured out what causes this problem but it's probably because of my shallower breasts that don't have enough tissue on the sides. So maybe it could help you. My bratabase adventure about it: http://www.bratabase.com/adventures/entry/12170/
I tried loosening the straps some, and it made it more wrinkly, but did get rid of the smooshing. I did notice some tissue that wasn't contained in the cup when I loosened the straps even after scooping and swooping again. I'm thinking it may be from it being too small.
This bra runs huge, people. It runs a full band and full cup size large, almost 2 cup sizes large I'd guess. The cups are very, very deep. It's narrow and projected, the only such shape offered by Tutti Rouge. I have listed this bra, it's currently altered to a 28FF-G but is reversible so it would fit a 32F. I'm sad it's not a perfect fit because aesthetically it's beautiful. Full review on blog!
Now that is what I call a nice surprise. Given the shape I was sure this bra will be as ill-fitting as my 30FF - Cleo » Juna Animal Balconnet Bra (7731) , but no - it is very, very comfortable, comfortable enough to be a lounging bra. Very cute, the print is mesmerizingly kitsch. Will look for matching panties for sure.
I impatiently waited two and a half agonizing weeks for this bra to arrive from the UK. It's not a perfect fit and Bratabase will say it doesn't fit, but it's not the complete failure I started to fear it would be, and I'm going to have a really hard time not living in this bra. It's the single cutest, most comfortable thing I've ever attached to my boobs. The pictures really don't do it justice. The lace trim is soooo soft (Curvy Kate needs to learn a lesson from this!!) and all the cute ribbon details and heart shaped strap adjusters add those ...extra touches I love in a bra.
It's Pepto Bismol pink. It's not my favorite color, but it was half off on eBay so I can't be too picky.
Band - it's a tight 28 band. I measured 27" stretched, but it's a stretchy band so I think it will stretch out over time. I attached an extender, but I'm closing it on the tightest hook of the extender and I would not have wanted a 30 band in this bra. I imagine within a few wears I'll be able to use the loosest hook of the band. I wish the band was wider and had 3 rows of hooks, but it'll do as is.
Wires - ok, I knew this bra has wide wires and I need wide wires. But I think I've finally found a bra that's a bit too wide - I measured 6.2". In my pics, I'll mark with my finger where my root starts and there's maybe 0.25" of extra space between it and the top of the wire channel where the wire angles outwards like a Nike swish. That said, the outside sides of the cups are pretty shallow, so that extra fabric/space doesn't gap or cause a problem, it lays flat against my side. It's not uncomfortable in my armpit.
Straps - so soft, so pretty, so shiny and cute. And a bit too wide set, but yet Tutti Rouge managed to make this bra so stinkin comfortable they don't chafe my armpits like my Charlotte did.
Cups - the wires feel like they're in my IMF, but the bottom of the cup has about 1/8-1/4" inch of fabric attached to the wire that goes straight up before the projection starts. Quite frankly, I'm not sure anyone is shallow enough to totally fill out every millimeter of space in the bottom of the cup. My boobs are not pushing it down and it's not wrinkling or folding over in an annoying way, so I'm not that worried about it. The rest of the cup is perfect. No quadding, no gapping, the gore is comfortable.
I feel really secure in this bra. It does have a minimizing profile - I was wearing my Deco before I put this on and my boobs look like they shrunk 2 sizes. But there are certain shirts I want that look with, and especially under boxy shapeless scrub tops and flowy shirts, this bra will prevent the "boob tent" look.
I like it. I give it a 7/10. I recommend it for wide set, shallow shapes - I especially think the smaller end of the size range could get along very well with this bra. There are some shapes this bra will absolutely NOT agree with at all, but it's actually pretty decent on mine. It's worth keeping. It makes me excited to try other TR bras in the future - especially the Eliza which is gorgeous and purpoted to be a bit narrower and more projected than the Liliana. Read more 516 more words
I wish I could fit the Liliana! It's so cute. But your description of the color made me laugh, like why are SO many bras that Pepto Bismol pink?? Even my Marcie looks like it'll treat indigestion in some lighting...
lol I know right?? It reminds me of my failed Wild Pink Charlotte. Medicine pink. Ugh. The color of that was way more pink than I thought it would be too.
A very pretty and comfortable bra, but the half adjustable straps are a problem. When worn racer back, cups are filled to the brim, and I get very slight orange-in-a-glass effect on my bigger boob. Please read my full review for more info!
I've lost a lot of weight and have been trying to find my new size. I thought I was a 30E when I ordered this, but I'm really more of a 28F. I wanted to exchange it to try for a better fit, but 28F wasn't available and customer service said they weren't restocking 28F anytime soon ☹️ I missed the return window because reasons (have to ship internationally in person during business hours and I work late).
Overall: Really pretty!! The heart strap sliders are so freaking adorable. I have been dying to try this brand and really wanted it to fit 😔 The band is a ...bit too big and stretchy. The noir/sugar color had the stretchiest band at 32 inches, while the nude/creme color had the tightest 30", and the nude color was in-between at 31". It digs into my breast in front of the armpit on my larger breast so much that it's too uncomfortable to wear. Otherwise it fit well and is beautiful. The Liliana's wings seem to be higher than the other bras I have from Tutti Rouge and the Freya Deco which I own several of. Maybe this is why I was having issues. I've heard that the cups on this style are shallow which could also be a factor. Hopefully someone will see my listing and buy this beautiful bra and love the way it fits them ❤️ Read more 129 more words
