This is a called a contoured 1/2 cup but it has a triangle shape to it because the top of the cups have the same mesh as the band, and extend all the way from the gore to the straps. The cups are only lightly lined, so no additional bulk is added, but is thick enough for modesty. The outer lace is very smooth and won't show through; although it does have a 5" long dart for shaping, which might show under a very thin/tight shirt. As for the shape of the cups, they are an interesting blend of both shallow & wide and with apex ... projection, (with shallow/wide the dominant characteristic). There seems to be not much fullness in both the outer cup and the inner cup. Since the gore is fairly wide and it lacks center projection, the cups give a bit of east-west appearance. However, it doesn't appear extreme because the cups have a nice, rounded and lifted shape.
The band definitely runs short, but if you follow the size chart (I ordered through Amazon), you should be fine. For example, I do best in a 32 band, but ordered the 34...which fits like a 32. The band has a double layer of mesh and the elastic edges are encased inside the band, so there is no elastic touching your skin. Feels very comfortable and the even tension on the band causes very minimal back fat (a frequent problem for me). It does have a straight band; not scooped or ballet style. There are 3 rows of 3 hooks, so good support there.
The straps are quite wide at 3/4", but are only partially adjustable. However, even on my low-set, short-waisted frame, at least it was long enough for me. (I almost always start out a new bra with the straps fully extended.)
Ultimately, it does not fit me since it lacks center projection, and the mesh edge got sort of twisted up from quadding. The top of the cup also gaped on me when I pulled my arms forward, so really might be better for taller roots than I have.
