This is a cheapo I bought in order to test recommendations that I try a bandless bra with a low or almost non-existent gore, which this has. Solved the problem which prompted the advice.
I think you mean a low gore. Or in this case an almost-nonexistent gore ;-)
Thanks Wendybien. Correction made.
So what do you think of the "bandless" feature? I have several bandless bras, and they work well for me, but I find banded bras to be more supportive, and more structurally sound. That small amount of connective material at the gore bothers me, just because of the amount of stress it has to endure to support my breast tissue and hold the cups together.
Are you asking me specifically? Well I don't think it's either good or bad, in the absolute. It's really about personal preference, body type, breast volume etc. etc.
Personally I hhhhhhate bandless because like you I find it less supportive, and since bands tend to creep down on me in many situations, that process is much less comfortable when there is no band.
My ideal comfort bra would have a nice wide underbust band of at least 1.5" of fabric just like the "golden oldies" of the bullet bra era and before! I find that soooo comfy.
I like that, being a t-shirt bra, it is higher up on the breast to minimize the visibility of gaping cups through clothing. The band fits nice, and the cups seem to be the right width. The only issue I have personally with this bra is that my upper breast tissue is lacking, so the top seam of the bra is just floating. Overall, one of my best-fitting bras.
I got four of these, which I intended to alter. I have a mild shoulder deformation that makes multiways my only comfortable option, and since these bras fit perfectly in the cups back then, I figured I could alter the band to fit. That only ended up happening to one of them. The other three (this bra included) were never altered, and sadly no longer even fit in the cups! They were just returned from whence they came last night.
The multiway straps are easy to do, and clip in and out with a satisfying sound. Unfortunately, they are so thin they feel like floss, and they DIG into ...me. I never liked the angle the gore and wires sit at: even with the band size massively too big, they somehow find a way to dig in on the bottom and feel like they are trying to get in through my ribs! The cups and band though are so so soft to the touch, and come in very cute simple styles and nice basic colors. Overall an okay, cheap, basic bra for those it fits. Read more 76 more words
This bra is another one that I borrowed to add to the data base. Way too small for me in the cups. I can tell you it's a 2 part cup . Top half is lace and the bottom half is nylon. It is an underwire with 2 hooks in the back. It really seems a lot like the Vanity Fair Beauty Back Full Figure Underwire (76380) Lace Piquant Underwire (75-164) that I added in December 2017. This bras# is(75-152) and I know @Vassatette is part of @Vanity Fair. The tag is kind of messed up so I'm thinking this bra is more like a 38B and not a 38C?
This bra has managed to stay exactly the same all these years. I feel kind of "meh" about this bra.... The shape it gives is decent due to the molded soft cups...not because it actually lifts or gathers any breast tissue. This has to be one of my only old bras that don't sit on any of my breast tissue any where (not counting the tissue close to my clavicle). It has micro sized "wire columns" around the bottom of the bra, like most soft/wireless bras do (although they're not usually tiny), to try and shape the cups/breasts. I don't find myself having to scoop & swoop all day in this bra, but then again the cup doesn't have to ability to hold the tissue in anyway. So, if I DO scoop and swoop the tissue just goes back to it's natural position. Bra for sheer comfort or to fill out a shirt better (not too tight of a shirt or my blobs look like two hills on a flat platform, lol).
This is not the best bra. I only have it because it was the closest to my size at our local Kmart. I am a 34 H in US sizes.I did not like Vassarette when I was a C cup! Overall, a poor bra.
Assuredly long discontinued. I wore this molded demi (or balconette?) to its death. Band now too large (and falling apart) partly due to weight loss which dropped my underbust measurement, but plan to try modifying since the cup-size and shape is *perfect*. Have not found anything close to the fit as of Oct 2015.
I don't know how this fit because I literally bought it years ago. I only wore it a handfull of times, which tells me that it probably never fit. The appearance is beautiful. Padding is on the thicker side.
Pretty cheap bra. I still love it but the cups will be too small if I take the band in :/ Material is nice. Not a lot of padding. Nice shape. It was pretty comfortable when I bought it, even with it likely being the wrong size.
I have the black and beige bra. It is such a comfortable bra. Fits like a glove. And I agree that the gore is wonderful! I will alter the band when it stretches out.
I bought this comfortable and inexpensive bra in my sister size, with the intent of shortening the band. The more I wear it, the more I don't like the shape of the cups on me. They're to small in general, and the top of the molded cup isn't open enough. Breast tissue slips out underneath the underwire because of the loose band. In addition to shortening the band, I might narrow out the bottom part of the gore. This would give the cups more of a u-shape, which might hold my slightly bottom heavy breasts better. It's also the only way I'll be able to get the gore to tack against me. If the shape change doesn't fix the bra cutting into the top of my breasts, I'll cut a V into the top of the cups. I will make this bra fit me, darn it!
This is too much work for a bra that clearly doesn't fit. But. Despite all of the problems, I like this bra, and I want to give it a chance.
This bra is super cute and almost brand new, but It just isn't quite the right size for me. The band is way too long (I can pull it in the back about 6 inches) and doesn't support me the right way.
I have 1 in black and blue and 1 in red and brown. These bras are great for my shape. They fit like gloves, and are cute. I'm either 32DD or sometimes a 34D depending on the bra. This is one of the times where 34D truly fits. They are very comfortable to me, especially the gore. These bras are so comfortable that if I wear a gore too high for a day, these are the only bras I can wear the next day.
Update: My tissue migrated, and now after wearing each one only a couple of times, not only are the bands too loose, they give me quadboob. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
This is the first bra I bought after discovering my real size (which is loose 32DD/ tight 34D). I liked this bra so much at the time that I bought 2, 1 white and 1 black, for $10 US each. After years spent believing I was flat chested, I wanted some in-your-face padding, which these have. I get a little cleavage without quadboob. The cups are a little pointy, but I think that's a little bit of retro campy fun ala Mad Men or Betty Page. If I wanted natural, I'd go commando. These bras are very comfortable, and I can wear them for a full day's active work (horse riding and training). The lace does show through fitted clothing, however.
The cups don't align properly with my boobs. I have a bit more distance between them than the cups allow, and they splay outwards a bit, so they always seem to get tucked into the sides of the cups. The band is also too loose for me. I have a 33" underbust, so I assumed a 34 bra would be reasonably snug, but it stretches out WAY farther than I expected. Between that and the ill-fitting padded cups, it always seems to ride up in front and dig into the bottom of my breasts. I also have sloping shoulders, so the straps don't stay on quite right. All in all, I made a pretty poor decision with this thing! I'm glad I didn't pay much for it.
Soft bra with no center gore-just fabric in a vee with small bow. Elasticized band and springy straps extended to the maximum. Lace net manufacture . The con is that it doesn't support small breasts. I only wear it under a T shirt.
This is the most comfortable bra I own. When I first put it on it felt like it was a little bit tight. However, after a few wears, that did not bother me at all. This bra keeps everything in place, but doesn't ride up, doesn't have weird gaps in it, and holds my boobs up in a nice pert shape. Best of all, I got it at Wal-Mart for like $9!
The padding in this bra isn't attached to the fabric. The fabric shrunk a little when I washed it and ever since the bra has had odd wrinkles in it. Maybe I washed it wrong and it's my fault but just something to make note of. Otherwords it's a decent bra. Comfortable, nice plunge. It doesn't really fit me so I can't say much about what shape it will give.
