This is a great balconette that doesn't poke with the wires on the gore, something that all my Curvy Kate Tease Me [showgirl Collection] (SG2001) 's did. The satin is sooo beautiful, a bit matte, and the lace is very intricate. All in all, a very affordable and cute bra with very predictable sizing - the 70F was a tiny tad too loose in the band, but I would have been able to pull it off in that size, I don't feel much difference between 70F and 65G. It fits and it is comfortable.
That's so pretty! I love the rosette on the gore instead of the bow.
I must have missed this review, but I'm glad I've seen it now. I've been interested in this cut from Vena for a while. Based on your measurements, now I think the cups will be too wide and band too loose for me in a 65H. Too bad. I like the purple and green ones pictured on your blog :)
I ordered this bra as a simple test, what is available on amazon. I did not expect it to fit so I'm quite suprised, how good it looks. It fits comfortable, depending on how I move there is slightest quadding to slight gaping of the top, on average I would call this a fit. The cups are nothing for ladies that need immediate projection, in my opinion there is not so much room at the bottom. I read about comparison of these bras to CH and Curvy Cate Showgirls and I think a mixture of both these bras is quite a good description. The cups start very shallow but overall ...the shape is not as shallow as I remember Curvy Kates Tempt Me nor is there the gaping I had in the Tease me. I still try to find out if the shape is good enough to keep this bra. I like the appearance of the bra but not the colour (which is quite easy to change and I have a yellow bra on my whishlist anyway) and the material feels a little bit cheaper than Ewa or Comexim. I don't think that this is a suprise given the price of the brands... The cup is a little bit higher than Ewas cups so in appears under low cut tops but I'm not sure if this is a problem yet. I also uploaded pictures so I'm happy about opinions. Read more 126 more words
It looks like a decent fit but I agree. Those are some tall cups! It's a very uplifted shape instead of basketballs like Ewa or Comexim give.
Thanks gratiat I habe a compination od breast properties that all cups tend to cover quite a lot, thats why I banned balconnets (which are more or less fullcups on me) and try to stick to halfcups. This halfcup seems to be at least a balconette on me ^^ I fount the shape work well under loose clothes where Ewas apples tend to disappear.
This is a sister cut of my Vena - yeah, this one has way too tall cups for your shapes.
Do you know if the sister cuts are lower cut, Scharminkeltje ? Looking at the shop pictures all the bras in similar cuts should fit like this. I'd love this shape with less coverage.
About me: Tall roots, low set, centre-full, projected but self-supporting, even vertical fullness, average-to-narrow roots but functionally narrow, somewhat close set, firm tissue. Average width shoulders but muscular-ish. ABTF calculator size: 26J/JJ, best fitting bra: Comexim Pearl Flower Mint 3HC in 60N.
Overview: I really love this bra, it's now in my regular rotation of every day bras. I bought the 65J size as a random guess based on my size in Gorsenia, and it worked out well. It's super comfy and pretty supportive despite the gore not tacking. I think the cups might be slightly too shallow, which is why the ...gore doesn't tack, but the width is perfect, so I am hesitant to try going up a size. It has a bit of an old fashioned kind of look to it that reminds me of the Triumph Doreen, which is fine with me because the Doreen is a guilty pleasure bra of mine, haha. It has a gently or softly pointed silhouette under clothes, but it's very subtle, not torpedo-y or bullet bra like at all. I just mention it because it isn't as round as other Polish bras I've tried.
I have never had a half-stiffened bra before and I really like it. It combines the stiffer feeling support under the boobs like a padded/foam bra, but then has a lot of breathability and airiness to it like an unlined bra because of the cup being 1/3 stretch lace. The lace on top is very stretchy, but it has an elastic along the edge that might cut in if you're more FOT than I am since the cup is quite closed on top with it.
Details: This is a half-stiffened bra, which means it's constructed of a stiffer foam/padding along the bottom and sides of the cup, but it has stretch lace for the top 1/3. The foam/padding along the bottom of this bra is thinner than in other bras with padded cups like Comexim, Ewa, or Parfait. I'm not sure if that is specific to this brand or if it's just the half-stiffened style. I think the way the stiffened part of the cup is made this bra would probably be really good for someone with outer fullness, since the padding is along the outer cup and then tapers in towards the gore. The straps are sort of stretchy, and the band is fairly stretchy too. The lace this bra is made out of is very soft and not scratchy at all, and it's also pretty flat so it doesn't show under clothes (so far on me it hasn't. I haven't tried any thin t-shirts though). For size I ordered my Gorsenia size of 65J (which is a 30GG UK) and I think that was pretty accurate, although it is just a touch too small in the cups and the gore doesn't tack, which might not be a problem at all if you've got outer fullness, since I think this bra might have been designed with outer fullness more in mind. Thank you for the detailed review! I saw misterna is having a Valentine's day sale and I noticed they have a lot of styles from this brand. There isn't much information here so I was hesitant to purchase until now. Now I just have to decide which ones to get!
Oh how interestin fit like a halfcup with comfy soft modesty upper?! The fabrics and laces have a cute antique vibe so the Doreen comment really hits home. While I crave a full cup's coverage, reality dictates that I live in a sort of mortal terror with my half of a halfcup height needs oh the sizing translations & calculating how much underboob will be supported, or how much will be pushed out of the cup (nay, it will never rise to any respectable cleavage). You really had me at 'designed for outer fullness', because that deep cut from the sides out is very compelling for someone whose at least 2/3rds sideboob, & whose bra-drobes less than cohesive eccentricity reflects that.
Me: Narrow roots, narrow shoulders, evenly round, lots of immediate projection, slightly FoB, slightly centre full, splayed, never met a gore I didn't like, left-heavey by more than a cup size, 31" underbust, but prefer tight band with extender. Panache, Freya size 30GG
New brand to me. Really like the narrow wires and the super narrow centre gore! Unfortunately I did not notice that it was semi soft until too late. I don't do well in most padded bras. Immedate projection in padded bras is almost always insufficient. Very projected shape, though. I really feel like it puts me right front and centre. Straps are too wide set and it only has two hooks. No scalloping or ribbing on straps to prevent slide slippage. I will probably try to find something else by this brand. If I can find an unpadded without a horizontal cup seam!
Fit is pretty standard - no extender needed and slght quading on my centre fullness.
Runs big in band and cup. Cups are wide and open at the top.
The fabric is SO comfy and soft.. Straps detach. In a smaller band and cup (30FF / 65H) this would have fitted me very nicely if I needed not much immediate depth. So if your boobs are FOT, wide and don't need much immediate projection, then you should try this in a cup and band down from your usual UK size.
Wow! This is an amazing, everyday tshirt bra. I got this seamless bra in nude and it's everything I hoped it would be. The tag proclaims: "*Ideal breast form *Stable form after washing *Air conditioned comfort *Eudermic, skin friendly and *Okotex standard 100" Although I have no idea what the last one means, the rest seems to be true. I don't think I've ever felt a cup like this. It's formed, but flexible and when you manipulate the cup, it almost acts like a gel. It's light weight and very comfortable. Construction: It has the standard narrow Polish wires. The band has a good amount of stretch, but is a rather ...firm elastic. The 80 band fits very similar to Ewa Michalak 80 bands. The straps are placed slightly wider than most US and UK brands. They're also fully adjustable and detachable at all connection points. Fit: I had really, really wanted the lift and projection I get from Polish bras, without the seams. And I got it with this bra. This might allow some minor nipple show through, but it does offer some control. The cups offer a good full coverage and thus there isn't much cleavage with this. Personally, I'd sacrifice 1/2" of coverage for a slightly sexier look. Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing.
Thank you for your recent reviews! I have been looking into other Polish brands over the weekend so these are very helpful.
Yes, pics! :) I have been eying this brand for a while.
It is called "spacer" because it is not a foam padded cup and their is only one layer of fabric, but the fabric ls like a new breathable synthetic fleece that has no insullation value but provides tiny airpoctes within the fabric giving you a little "space" between your skin and your clothing. It is just enough for minor nipple show through and helps with sweatiness. If you see some thing labelled as a "spacer" this is what it means
maddy2596 - Are you saying that Okotex means spacer? I'm familiar with spacer bras, but I had no idea what Okotex means.
Oeko-Tex is the fabric manufacturer this brand uses. Spacers include a large variety of fabrics and Oeko-Tex makes a large variety of products. It was more the air-condition comfort I was going by. It is like all the synthetic fabrics outerwear uses. Each brand has its own special guarentee of so made up name and some rating that may or may not actually mean anything. Here is the link for the standard. Really it is just an advertising thing and a claim that they are using "better," "greener," etc. fabrics than other knockoff brands.
I have few brands Polish bras, this VENA semi-soft bra is shallower and smaller side. The gore doesn't tack, got terrible cleavage, have horrible quad effect. The good points are wide straps and wide band.
My sister bought this Noemy demi bra from Zulily. She said the band was fine but the cups were too big. She's prefers a 36/38 band but hasn't yet come to terms with her actual cup size; she's probably a UK 36H/HH. It was too big on me in every direction so I'm unable to quantify. It seems well made, attractive and practical. The 3-part cups are deep and have lace overlay on the bottom 2/3. The straps are smooth and fully adjustable. There are 4 rows of 3 hooks.
This bra was one of 3 in the same brand and band size I ordered from Zulily and the band is completely different than the other 2. This one is more like a 70; I was only able to try it on by using an extender on the loosest hooks. I suspect it was mis-marked from the manufacturer because the other 2 styles were consistent with each other and fit fine. The cups were all too deep/large - and much larger than the size chart indicated - but the K wasn't clearly larger than the J. This is a very pretty bra and seems well made ...with nice materials. It was described as a plunge, but it isn't, although it isn't overly full-coverage either. It has only 2 hooks, which I feel is criminal in this cup size - but it does have 4 rows of 'em. Straps are fully adjustable. Although the cups are very deep at the apex, it does not have the immediate projection I require. In fact, for such a large cup size, I was shocked at the lack of projection at the wire. The cups simply folded above the underwire under the weight and shape of my boobs. This was true for all 3 of the Vena styles I tried, so I can only guess that you'd need either really flexible, or very volcano-shaped, boobs, to fit into the cups properly. Update after a few pounds lost: the band now fits fine but I get substantial wrinkling along the vertical seams under each boob as well as creasing above the underwires as a consequence of the lack of projection there. The cup on my smaller side has vertical wrinkles near the strap and the lace along the top edge of each cup looks almost ruffled. All that being said, it's quite cute on and not uncomfortable at first blush. I'll update the comfort rating after a full day's wear. Read more 225 more words
