It has a firm band and the elastic feels very soft on the skin. The wires are very flexible and are the first ones that don’t hurt me. Cups are made from elastic lace without seams and has an extra layer of elastic mesh on the sides to push the breasts more to the front.
If you have close-set, narrow breasts, Wacoal may have designed a fitting bra for you. The, gore, cleverly, adjusts for different levels of center fullness. Awesome! My close -set pair pushes the wires on top of one another creating a .5" gore. The materials are pleasant to touch and the tonal colors are beautiful.
*Wires distort at 30.5" of stretched band length. Size up once, maybe twice in band length. *5.5" cup width and 10.5" of depth: the most narrow, deep Wacoal I've ever worn. *Adjustable gore width .5" -.8" wide at the top and overlaps, if needed *Lower gore is narrower than many. If you have omega-shaped breasts, this is helpful. *Fluted straps ensure your adjustment will not move without your consent. *I can count on one hand the bras that stay in my IMF: this is one. *Single layer band is especially comfortable, but may loose dimensional stability quickly.
Although I need a wider cup and a narrower lower gore, I can strongly suggest this is worth a look if you are narrow, projected, and close-set.
Are the wires on bra hard? do you feel pressure from the gore? I like the concept of the gore being adjustable but it looks to tall.
Wacoal wires are firm. If I kept this bra, I would swap the wires with Bravo Bella Flex wires #42, specifically. The pressure I feel is at the base of the gore which is likely related to this:. one breast is 100% free of the wire but the other breast wears wire marks down and around the length of the gore.
lol love the name of the bra! couldn't help but laugh. Looks lovely :)
It caused me to chuckle, too, klilly3. The names are....oxymorons, at times. ;-)
thanks maybe i need to buy some flex wires because all my gores are terrible.
@goodnight I have some I won't be using. Send me the cup width you need, and I'll mail a pair if you'll pay postage. :-)
Wacoal makes bras I love. They rarely fit without alterations, but the materials and support are excellent. This bra has several design elements I sincerely appreciate: 1. Limited stretch straps 2. Wide straps (.7" like Comexim and Curvy Kate) 3. Silky smooth fabrics 4. 3 hook fastener (like Comexim and Curvy Kate) 5. Supportive band
I've had one hell of a time finding a bra that fits my short-waisted physique. My breast roots are short and often mistaken for a smaller size....or two. Even in the right size, wings and gores are too tall for comfort. Inspired by cupandahalf 's adventures, I will trim these wires shorter and/or replace the wires with ...shorter specimens. This will create more space for my center-full, close-set breasts and may allow the wire to sit in my IMF. Without alterations, this bra, like over 100 others, pushes out of my IMF quickly: center fullness will do that.
The cup is supportive, holds all my tissue easily, and the fabrics are very comfortable. I'll add some cotton flannel (thanks, maddy2596 ) to protect my sensitive nipples and feel a bit more comfortable when our temperatures soar beyond 100 degrees F. My lined bras are simply too HOT for summer.
Outstanding design characteristics and a cool bra for summer.
EDIT: Replacing the wires with #42 Bravo Bella wires dramatically improved my comfort. Still, I prefer padded wire channels in Wacoal Bodysuede, and I'll create a wire padding feature for Supporting Role. This seems a more breathable fabric than Bodysuede. Summer will soon declare a lightweight winner. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";-)" />
I love this one. It's a shame they discontinued it! You know, it fits me in 32DDD and I'm heftier than you in pretty much all dimensions--you should try that size for the shorter wires.
wendybien Surprisingly, there is virtually no difference in the gore height and wing height between 32DDD and 34DDD, but the 32DDD cup is more narrow.
Very short waisted, immediately projected, omega shaped, center full, somewhat narrow, close-set breasts....
This is designed for shallow, narrower breasts than my own. It is uncommon for the outer seam of a 34DDD wireless cup to sit on my breast tissue, but this one does. Largely, the shallow cup design is to blame. The shallowness causes the cup to collapse and the elastic band irritates the lower portion of my breasts. Perfect for other breasts, but not mine.
The materials are soft and supportive. The center gore seam is narrow and hidden under the breathable cup lining. It appears this bra may breathe and wick perspiration well.
Although Wacoal advertises "fully adjustable" straps, these straps, to me, are partially adjustable. Unpadded and limited stretch, they provide good support.
I strongly prefer the 34F Wingslove sports bra (http://bra.pe/SBwb0/ ). It is designed for more immediate projection whereas Wacoal has designed 852218 for shallow breasts. When comparing these two bras, the 34F Wingslove measures 1-2 cups larger than this 34DDD. Hmm....perhaps 852218 runs small.
One of my most comfortable bras, fits me like a glove! Not super sexy, though. Center gore doesn't lay completely flat against my sternum, but it doesn't cause me any discomfort or affect the fit of the bra. Has a J-hook to convert into a racerback and has side slings in the cups for added support. Absolutely no cleavage, which bothers me, but might be exactly what you're looking for. Gives a soft lifted and rounded look to your chest. Minimizing effects. Bought on the Wacoal website.
Unlike other Wacoal bras, the band runs more true to size. The cups are short but quite open on top, so need some degree of upper fullness to avoid wrinkles. The lace was itchy and the gore was quite wide.
I believe this model has changed name to "Embrace Lace Plunge Bra". The band runs almost a full size small. It's a shallow, wide and tall bra, but I found it much too tall and it irritated my tail of spence. The straps are much thicker than a lot of other bras in this size range but they a good for narrow shoulders because of the high apex and the option to cross them over at the back. The gore is quite wide and taller than other plunge gores. It's a very pretty bra and I really love the colour.
Why, oh why do almost all the bras out there insist on having tall, wide gores? Very frustrating for anyone close-set, and especially petite. This may have worked had it not been for that one issue.
Details: * Tall cups, microfiber inside and out. Just enough lining for coverage. Gives a weirdly rounded pointy shape. Flattens me & gives quad boob in the middle. * Tall flexible U-shaped wires. * Tall & wide gore. Sits on my breasts. * Single layer lace band, supported with strong flocked elastic top an bottom. Back strap is anchored into both top and bottom band. * 3x3 wide-set hooks. Good support. * Straps are 15mm wide (not including scalloped edging). Very very little stretch, due to a base layer of binding.
Bottom Line: if you have a wide set and somewhat east/west shape, you would probably do OK in this.
This band is super small. I sized up from a 32 to 34 because I noticed they seemed to run small and I could still barely get it on even with cups upside down and backwards. If I try to buy it again I will likely need to get a 36.
In my experience this isn't exactly the right bra, not in this size anyway...maybe one cup size up and one band size up and id be fine...once you get the correct fit im sure you'd be fine.
A surprisingly comfortable bra (my first wire free bra). While the bra is unattractive, has good appearance under shirts. I am currently a F cup and expected the cups to be squishy, however with my soft breast tissue my breasts are contained well.
There's a lot to like about this bra and it is almost perfect, except for one (to me) major design flaw: the cups are spread much too far apart.
Yes, the gore is wide, but it's low, so it doesn't interfere by sitting on breast tissue. But the distance between the apexes of the cups is a full 8.5". Normally for this size I would expect around 7.5" (maybe 8", at the most). I have soft tissue, so I can adjust somewhat, with 7.5" being my limit, so 8.5" is just too far apart for me.
Now for the details: * Both the bands and the cups run small. I had ...previously ordered my normal size (at that time it was 32DDD), so I made my best guess and ordered the 34DDD. Now, the band feels wonderful, and the cups fit remarkably well, with one BIG exception; that is, the distance between the cups is a full inch to 1.5" too wide, spreading the girls east/west, creating a minimized profile. It caused my T-shirt to pull across the middle in a most unflattering way. * The cups are lined mirofiber, thin but enough coverage to prevent show-through. The shape is a combination of rounded and natural. It didn't feel like it gave enough support, since the cups would buckle along the wire on me, even with the straps properly adjusted, so maybe I would need the next cup size up. * The wires aren't unusually wide and the cups have pretty good projection, with a wide, but low gore. The top is not very full, but it's full coverage and doesn't cut into the top roots. * The band is incredibly comfortable (assuming you have the correct size, considering that it runs small) and minimises back fat. * The straps are wonderfully soft. Much softer than most other Wacoal bras I've tried. Read more 197 more words
Mostly fits ok. Wire width, gore height, cup depth and alright, but the molded cups aren't quite the right shape for me and there is some space at the top of the cup. I have short roots and soft tissue, so if you have taller roots and/or are more firm, this might be a good option.
Short waisted, center full, close set, immediately projected, omega-shaped breasts....
After a few hours, I'm aware of some compression. And, I found myself vigorously loosening the straps. Still it is very comfortable, but I need a bit more space. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";-)" /> Adding a full extender has dramatically improved the fit.
Strangely, this cup design is shallow in the top which forces my breasts into the bottom and creates a flat plane across the top. Not only that, it pulls a bit too tightly across the top near the outer quadrant. However, adding a full extender dramatically lessened the compression and created a very comfortable, supportive bra.
34DDD has side support sandwiched between the outer layer fabric and inner fabric. This is super comfortable and helps keep breast tissue "front and center." The design is not ideal for center-full, close-set breasts, but workable if you can tolerate a slight east/west look. The fabrics and absence of seams makes this a great choice for those with sensory sensitivities.
I would prefer to wear a wire free bra, and at smaller back and larger cup sizes your choices are limited. I am actually closer to a 32, but I was advised to go up a band size in this bra. I originally ordered it in a 34DD - which was definitely too small - so I ordered the 34DDD, which fit. It was never perfect - the straps don't adjust short enough for short people (5'0"), and the straps were a little far apart. I never got much separation, but my boobs are close together, so that's not a surprise. But then there are the bones. This ...bra has boning in the sides, and while I understand that they may be needed for structure, they dig in at the bottom and leave bruises. They aren't so bad in the morning, but by the mid-afternoon you want take it off. There are nice features as well - the fabric is very soft, there is some but not too much foam in the cups for modesty, and it has a decent shape.
So then I lost some weight and this bra got to be too big. I put it away for a year or two, during which time I wore the same bra in 34DD. And then I gained back some weight, so I got it out again. I have found I can get the most comfortable fit on the tightest hook, though there is some gapping under the arms, and I wonder how much of that is from it being stretched out. The bones have not improved with age. They still hurt progressively as the day goes on, and I am currently wearing this bra because it fits better than anything else I have right now. I expect it to be retired again as soon as I get some new bras. Read more 202 more words
I want to love this bra! The band is supportive, soft, and seems robust. The elastic band has a finely knitted, fabric cover. Three by three fasteners are included. Dimensionally, this is a significantly longer Wacoal band; stretching to 35" when new. My 28" underbust strongly prefers shorter Wacoal bands https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";-)" />
Straps are .8" wide, soft, limited stretch, and fully adjustable. They are a luminous, cross-hatched, woven fabric. These straps I'd like attached to every bra. So lovely and supportive.
The cup and cradle indeed create a "visual effect." The band and cradle are made of striated, woven fabric. Not only are the stripes ...visible, they are also textural. This may not delight sensory sensitive individuals. However, it is interesting and supportive.
The gore is similar to Panache Alisha which, at 1.1" wide, causes the seams to sit on my breasts. This quickly becomes uncomfortable. Visual Effect just doesn't have enough center projection for me.
If I had a bit more separation between my breasts and a bit less center fullness, this would be my favorite, supportive wireless.
These padded wires <3 <3 34DDD provides the extra cup width I require. And, the band is not as snug which makes the gore more tolerable. However, I will replace these wires with shorter, more flexible Bravo Bella #42s.
Although I adore the wide variety of colors available in this model, the cushy straps, the padded wires, I need more center projection. Wacoal Bodysuede ( http://www.bratabase.com/bra/dinh4/ ) has better center projection than Awareness in this size.
Are the wires on bra hard? do you feel pressure from the gore? I like the concept of the gore being adjustable but it looks to tall.
