If you have difficulty finding a gore narrow enough for close-set breasts, try this model. The wires will completely overlap at the top which prevents the "twist and wrinkle" I routinely experience. Wacoal, again, provides a solution where other manufacturers do what they have always done; ignore those of us with very close-set breasts (Panache, Cleo, Curvy Kate,....).
Typical Wacoal with high quality materials, lightweight, supportive band, tonal lace, and a single seamed cup with excellent immediate projection.
Found my t shirt bra! I was shopping Nordstrom's anniversary sale and I came across this. I thought at first it was a La Femme style 853117 which it basically is except Nordstrom had them change the embroidery and called it their exclusive. I honestly didn't expect much, but when I put it on it ticked all the right boxes. Do I fill the cups? Check. Do the wires stay in my imf? Check. Comfortable? Check. Supportive? Check. Does it look good? Oh heck yes!
I love that it's also a plunge, a plunge that's shaped more like my shape than others I've tried. Has enough projection at the bottom and center, and not a ton of room at the top. There is side support provided by denser foam in that area. The center pull straps stay on my narrow shoulders. And it was on sale!
Is it the best bra I own? No, but it's great for it's intended purpose of being invisible under knits and enhancing my look under a low neckline. I couldn't ask for more.
Thanks for this review! I've been looking for a similar bra and yay for the sale - makes it easy to try it out (just ordered). My last five bra attempts have been duds, but I'm hopeful...
I don't know, it just doesn't fit. The cups feel too small and too large at the same time - the upper cups are gaping and I'm also spilling. Otherwise, it's a really nice bra. Comfortable enough for a strapless and has a great design. On the negative side, it tends to create a reverse muffin if you are not super slim. I also experienced that it might slide down a little bit during wear, but that is quite easily adjusted. I should add that I bought this second hand and don't know how much it has been previously worn, perhaps it's features were better when it was new. I would say, if it fits your shape then you will love this bra.
Mahogany Rose is an incredible skin tone match for me. I'm white as paper with lots of pink undertone. Invisible.
Another candidate for wild alterations. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" /> Wacoal materials are better than most and can be found slightly used for little money. These make them my best options for alterations.
Edit: This band was the tightest of the three Wacoals I recently purchased. When I replaced the wires with shorter wires and loosened one side of the wire channel at the gore so it could fold over the other wire channel, the band became too big. The cups fit significantly ...better (i.e. more comfortably) now.
This is yet another example of short roots + center-full fit challenges. Before the alteration, the wires were sitting on a fairly significant amount of breast tissue. At least 1.5" of band width was occupied by my short breasts. They never exude through the top of a cup (e.g. you see no evidence that this bra is too small in the photos). But, when the center gore could collapse, my breasts could better fit into the cups. Now the cups fit, and the wires no longer compress my breasts. But, the once-firm-band is now too long. ; -) Thankfully, that is an easy alteration, too. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" />
@cupandahalf One of the wire pairs you generously shared with me are perfect replacements. Thank you! Read more 132 more words
This is my favorite bra! Nice rounded shape under clothing, good t shirt bra, comfortable band. I could probably go a little tighter, but it's comfortable at 34 and stays in place. Not the sexiest bra ever, but it's in high rotation for the comfort/silhouette factor.
Same as Wacoal La Femme Contour Bra, Nordstrom had them change the embroidery in the band and called it an exclusive. Fairly stretchy band. Often Wacoal feels tight in 34 on me, not this one. Moulded foam cups are fairly firm and seem to have sufficient depth for my I'm guessing average projection. The foam is firmer on the sides than the rest of the cups, so looking straight on, my breasts are within my silhouette. Good uplift, puts the girls high and up front. Bonus - it's a plunge! So I fulfilled my T shirt bra wish and plunge wish. I'm happy with this for having gotten it on sale.
Good bra, wish Wacoal had bigger cup sizes!!! Bought this in desperation. Was in horrible shoulder pain from a bum rotator cuff, and needed a strapless and I cannot go braless in public. Cups are pretty small, but as long as it's winter no one notices. Really sturdy bra.
Very supportive. High impact running and no uncomfortable bouncing. The strap length adjusts via hook, I'm currently on the loosest, I could see an issue for someone with a longer distance up around the shoulder, do not know if there are extenders.
I really like lightly lined T Shirt bras. They give me a round shape and they are smooth under tops. This bra doesn't poke, is snug around and is so light in the cup its like an unlined bra. The gore is a little wider than the space between my boobs, so the gore goes into my boobs slightly. The wire goes comfortably from gore to the other side of my boob, which is where my underarm starts. The wire does not go up in my underarm, rather sits comfortably beside the top of my boob. The cups have a sling on the inside of the cup by the underarm for added support. I like this bra very much, when it goes to H cup, I will buy it.
I really need a no bounce sports bra but It looks like it doesn't give any lift though, does it flatten/compress? is it just firm supportive fabric?
It sounds weird, but it kind of encapsulates. The wire is very supportive and it comes up very high in the center gore. The wires actually float above the 'cups' so nothing is rubbing uncomfortably. It almost feels like you have it on inside out at first, but it's on correctly. The fabric is compressive, but not in the way a pull-on racerback sports bra is. I'd say it's kind of like a supportive mitten for your boobs. :) If you get a chance to try one on, you should. It's been well over a year and it's still my favorite sports bra. The only downside is that it comes up fairly high, so low cut tanks will show it.
This bra is a plunge T shirt bra that gives awesome cleavage. Its comfortable and fits well. The band is snug and the cups cover with cleavage on the inside. I'm an H cup and this line goes to G only, but it still works well. It does not poke at all, and my underwires are far back where my underarm begins. The gore is comfortable, the underwire is comfortable. Its a pretty bra, this one is nude in color but I also have a 34G in black. I will see about posting pics of the bra.
Very comfy, I now have it in 3 colors. The gore floats a tad and comes up just a hair high, but I'm also close-set and rather petite, so both are expected. Neither issue is bad enough for me to hate this bra. The wires also don't hug my IMF, but I don't think they are meant to with this design. Fabric is ultra soft, wires are sturdy and well covered. The side sling really keeps the girls corralled forward. Not much lift, minimal shaping, decent support but nothing to write home about. Great bra for hot/humid weather. Definitely my go-to lounge bra on wash days or when my skin is feeling sensitive. Prefer my Kingas for daily wear and support.
Really soft and comfy materials, I just wish the cups didn't come up so high along the underarm. The wire doesn't poke my armpit, but that side rubs me raw right along the front of my underarm, even when I convert to racerback. I want to love this bra, but that just gets so irritating after a few hours. Can't recommend for narrow-shouldered, petite busty ladies.
I previously tried on this bra in a 34DDD and thought I needed to go up in band size to keep the wires from digging into me, but I was wrong! Going up a cup size instead made the band fit perfectly, eliminated underarm squidge, and made this bra super comfortable and supportive for me. 34G also comes with an inner side support sling, which doesn’t do that much for me aesthetically as these wires are probably much wider than I need, but does seem to give me a little more support than plain spacer cups do? This bra prevents my heavy, close-set boobs from pulling on my ...neck and gives me an instant posture boost! This gore is higher than I usually wear and does not fully tack on me, but only bandless plunge bras do since I have close-set breasts and mild PE. As the wires are very padded, this is not an issue for this bra. Is it my holy grail bra? No, but it’s super comfortable and will keep my neck from hurting until I find “the one.”
Other things of note: The spacer fabric, elastic edging, camisole straps, and extra wide vans make this bra super comfortable and it smoothes everything out so that it disappears under knit jersey tops. It has a slight minimizing effect that is meh, but I think it would have a more dramatic one on someone with wider roots (in a good way.) Read more 135 more words
The quality of this bra is great. It's relatively comfortable. However, I feel like the cups are too small for me and it doesn't fit properly. This is a side smoothing, minimizer bra. The fit is designed to widen and flatten your breasts to your chest to make them appear "smaller". The mesh criss-cross band design can be slightly aggravating because it can get twisted easily so you have to fight with it sometimes. This bra looks good in a t-shirt, casual dress, professional wear and so on. Would re-purchase for casual wear in a better fitting size.
I thought this was a side smoother, not a minimizer? I believe side support is supposed to move tissue further forward and make breasts appear rounder for those of us who have wide roots or a lot of splay.
My size is normally closer to 34FF/H but I ordered a 34G off the Wacoal site because it looked similar to their Perfect Primer unpadded bra with closer-set straps, a wider band, and lace. Unfortunately, this bra is nowhere near as stretchy, so it fit way too small. I don't think I'll try it in a 34H because the wires seem wider than the Perfect Primer and when I tried that in 34H it got slightly too-wide and very too-tall.
My shape: slight center-full, very projected, narrow roots, short torso(underarms tend to stab), soft tissue
Fit issues: The gore floats, the wires are hard and dig into my ribs, I ...am clearly in the wrong size, but I am pretty sure this bra would be too shallow regardless of size
The good: the band on this is strong with 4 hooks, the close set straps were lovely and reduced tail-o-spence cut-in, and if it fit I think this bra would have been very supportive. The lace looks mature without looking too matronly. The tops of the wires have squishy tips to prevent stabbing. Read more 72 more words
This bra is super soft and stretchy, and the wires are encased in something soft like silicone. If you had sensory issues and wanted a wired bra, I could see this being a great fit. Technically this bra is too small (actually a 34FF/H), but the wires on the next size up were too wide and tall, and this size is stretchy enough that the band lies flat even if the gore doesn't fully tack. I would also say that the band on this is also stretchier than usual, so if between sizes go down. The cups can probably accommodate those in-between sizes too, although I would not recommend for VERY FOT/Tall because the elastic on the top might cut in
My shape: very projected, narrow, very slight FOB, slight CF, soft and not self-supported, short torso(tall&wide wires tend to stab)
Fit issues: wires still slightly too wide, cups a bit small, upper gore floats
Good stuff: really soft, wires are cushioned, well constructed, fabric stretches to breast shape, nice colours, lace detail does not rub on skin
The bra itself is comfortable and lasts well. It does end up poking my underarms with the out wires by the end of the day of full wearing and I do have a little gap under my breasts in the cup. I have 2 of these as they are the best fit I’ve found that I can comfortably wear for the necessary time.
Looks beautiful on you!
