I looooooove my Bronte like no bra I have ever had. It boosts me up and supports my boobs in all the right ways, is an adorable longline, a gorgeous orange satin, and gorgeous under swooping necklines (or topless around the house! :P). The Veronique is hands down one of the prettiest bras I have ever owned, but the fit is not nearly as straightforward, possibly because the band is narrower and doesn't have as much surface area for tension distribution.
They are both open about the same amount on top and offer the same amount of coverage, and both have similar strap placement (i.e., a little farther apart than I'd prefer). However, the boning and sheer amount of fabric in the Bronte's band (plus 6 hooks!) is much better about keeping wires and everything in place, while the much narrower band on the Veronique just can't compensate for how big it really is, especially around the lower edge (my ribs are somewhat conical). This makes the cups sit slightly awkwardly, tilted forward and gaping and migrating too low - but only on my smaller boob - in addition to being a little bit shallower in the bottom; the migration in turn places the bridge just beneath my sternum in a prime poking and digging location, but this is resolved when I shift the bra back up.
By the nature of its longline style and my shorter ribcage measurement in the back, the Bronte sits a lot higher than my other bras and causes slight muffin-topping because its top edge is on my shoulder blades. It's superficial, but one drawback I don't have with the other Fauves.
The bands on the Maya and the Marla 30Fs are much tighter than the Veronique 30FF, and feel appropriate for the size marked. I also haven't noticed uneven band tension on me, and the straps are at a more comfortable and convenient place. The wings are almost exactly the same size, but the Maya feels short; that extra 0.3cm in the Marla and the Veronique apparently makes all the difference in making me feel like they are tall enough.
The cups in these two 30Fs are a size smaller, so the underwires aren't quite wide enough for all my breast tissue on the side, but seem to fit well enough in terms of filling out the cup, not cutting in or gapping, and the wires resting in the inframammary fold. They are both quite open at the neckline, much more than the Veronique and the Bronte, with the Marla being moreso to the point that I am a little concerned if I ever have to run or jump in it! A 30FF in either would probably be great and solve the wire size issue and offer a teensy bit more coverage, if I could find one.
The cut seems to be different on these two again: thus far, I have had no problems with the Marla's gore digging, and it seems to rest in the same place as the Bronte's and has no extra space in the wire channel, but not so for the Maya! I can't seem to get the wires to a place where they aren't uncomfortable: they dig quite a lot, but when I slide them out toward the wings through the extra 1/2" in the channel, they are somehow pressing on breast tissue in the center AND on the sides. Attempting to tack the wires in place in their more outward position doesn't seem to change the pressure. This particular cut (which from outward appearances is no different from the others!) may just not be suited for me.
The Marla is extremely cute, and I love the sparkly silver embroidery thread! I intend to add a ribbon inside and move the hooks on the Veronique to try and fix the fit issues, because it is just too pretty to let go. The Bronte is pretty much perfect just the way it is - if only I could afford another one!
