I'm not very happy with this bra. At first, when I tried it on in the fitting room, it seemed fine. Maybe that was just the hope talking, but it seemed fine. Flash foward to wearing it at home, not so fine. First I'll describe my boobs, then get into what worked and what didn't. But to be fair, I will say the bra helper at the store told me at least twice (maybe three?) that one of the other bras fit me better, which maybe should have been the bra I should have bought, but now I'll never know (until, and if, I get the time and ... money to go buy that other bra, which is unlikely)
My boobs, for a lack of a better term are tricky. They are tricky in the fact that they're tricky to please. They are wide rooted, full on the bottom, low on the chest, and are somewhat shallow. It most places I'm a 34b or 32c (and even a d in some places, like nordstrom) My band size is __ and band cup size is ___. I also have wide shoulders. Another thing I'll say is that I'm sensitive to textures and pressure, and have nerve issues with my brachial plexus, which I'm starting to realize means no plain straps, only racer backs (so the strap doesn't fall on my brachial plexus and artery, which is another thing: I have circulation issues and back/shoulder issues too... probably from wearing crappy bras for almost 2 decades now) So with that in mind, here's what worked and what didn't:
What worked: the cups, hallelujah, the cups! they fit me almost EXACTLY. the wire didn't poke anywhere, and covered the side of my wide root boob too. the gore was great, and lie flat and wasn't too itchy, pokey, or anything, really. Since im east/west, the demi covered my nips, which was also great, and the bra made me stand up just the taddest bit straighter. Also, my boobs look hella fine in them which made me feel like a godess for like, aproximately 10 minutes. But that's basically where the pluses end.
what didn't work: strapps!! they BARELY adjusted to my length, and they were REALLY WIDE, even though i feel i already have pretty wide shoulders for my body! The straps ended up sitting on/digging into my brachial plexus and giving me numbness and tingling in my arms and hands(which I already have problems with, I don't want to scare anyone off. its just something I struggle with, so if you do too, and are similar to me, I wouldn't recommend this bra.) and if I tightened them, they gave be shoulder pain/back pain and dug into my shoulders. another thing, this bra was mega tight! the wire under my boobs stayed in place, but almost at the cost of my chest breathing (which I admit, breathing from your chest and not your stomach is unhealthy, but sometimes a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do, and this bra was having none of it). It was also reall itchy on the sides, which, I don't mind that as much, if it fits, but in combination with everything else, I just could not. Finally, to top it all off, it seems to be made pretty cheaply. The top screen/messh fabric on the top part of the cup is only attatched to the cup on the sides, not the whole thing, which might be good for adjusting your boobs into the cup, but it also could get torn up pretty easily.
And on top of it all, I'm not sure I can even return this because its a sales item? I was going to ask the clerk, but got caught up in the moment. :/ If I can though, I will definitely return it.
all in all, I'd give this bra a 3/5
bra fitting experience though, 4/5 because nordstrom seems to be were its at, man
