I'd heard that this bra ran small in the band and cup, so I sized up from my normal 28G to a 30G. Although I was able to fasten the band, it felt as though I was going to start hearing tiny ripping noises if I took a really deep breath. Now, normally, when I measure "stretched band length" I'm not sure if I stretched the band enough, even though I aim for "any more and it won't be good for the elastic." When I measured this bra there was a definite hard limit, like hitting a wall, to the stretchiness. At 28" it suddenly felt like I ... was holding a completely non-elastic fabric, like plain ribbon. It wasn't stretching any further, period. Beyond that point it would rip, not stretch. No wonder, when wearing the bra, I felt like the band wasn't moving with me (expanding and contracting when I breathed and moved). Given that, I don't know that I would have kept this (admittedly beautiful) bra even if it had been a perfect fit in the cups. But I didn't have to make that decision because the cups were decidedly too large, though not by a full cup size (they were maybe 1/2 to 3/4 cup too large for me). I think if I had gone with my usual sister size, 30FF, I might have had a small amount of quadboob, but not nearly enough to justify going up a cup size.
As far as appearances are concerned, this is a really nice bra. I particularly like the cut-out in the gore and how tall it (the gore) is. In the correct size, I think this would have looked beautiful both on its own and under clothing. Also, the satin straps were quite nice looking. Comfort-wise, I'm not such a fan, only because of the non-stretchy band.
