Bra fitting help » Bottom-heavy breasts: what will work?
Alegro » Dreamweaver Unlined Plunge (9025A) » 30F 30:7
Issue resolved
Plunges are now dead to me: I'll look for the styles and models recommended.
Original problem
This happens to most bras: The volume will seem right, but I get quadraboob towards the middle. When I prod my boobs into the cup or shift the cup around, the quadraboob goes away. So I think the volume is appropriate.
How can I mod the bra so this goes away? I'm already looking preferentially at balconettes, but other style suggestions are welcome. (Of course, I'm 26.5 band, 35 bust, so my options are limited.)

helpfulI also have the same problem as I'm really bottom heavy. From advice on here and elsewhere I've learnt to avoid Freya and Curvy Kate unpadded bras, and any bras that are the same shape as the one you're wearing in the picture - it's the worst for bottom-heavy breasts.
For me the Freya Deco works really well, as do most masquerade bras like Rhea. I also really like the Panache Superbra range like Porcelain and Andorra. Cleo's Juna would also be a really good one for you, though the bands are really stretchy, a 28 band is more like a 30. Half-cup, padded balconette and full-cup bras work really well. I avoid most unpadded and plunge styles - plunge, unpadded styles like the Freya Faye are the worst for bottom-heavy breasts.

Same experience here mrsfu. I have soft tissued bottom full breasts with a swooping profile. Until recently Freya was all I bought and wore. I should've have just stayed with that because now after trying a Panache and Curvy Kate I realise that Freya just fits perfectly while the others demand far more top boob and side boob than I could ever hope to have even if I gained alot of weight.

I guess it's because my boobs aren't soft, but really firm and wide too - I tend to have lots of fit issues with Freya and CK unpadded bras, especially plunge styles. I think plunge styles in general are not good for bottom-heavy boobs though, whether soft or firm. But for me unpadded balconettes don't work either.

Okay I think I'm finally getting it now. I always figured it was the bottom heavy part that was causing wonky fits with certain brands... now I'm realising that it's more of the lack of side boob on me that's causing most of the fit issues not the bottom fullness. Thank You.

helpfulI have a problem with many mesh bras in which I get quad-boob where the seams are on the top and right across the middle- sizing up leaves empty fabric in places. I thought I was simply bottom-heavy, but I guess the tissue is also really soft.
Looking at your profile, I am wondering if any Masquerade bras might suit you- they may be too widely set, but if not, the Rhea and Delphi have vertical seamings (as do some others not currently in production). The Rhea does have underwires that go up high in the middle/at the sternum. I hope there's a place nearby where you can try them on- I've had a difficult time of it in the US!

I have a similar problem if the cup isn't stiff enough, I'm also sure it's a soft breast problem. Have you tried bras where the whole cup is made of the same fabric? That seems to work best for me

helpfulI'd suggest trying on something with a slightly higher gore or in a balconette style. I have a similar problem - falling out of plunge-type bras during the day, and a high gore helps a lot.
Also, if you get a bra with a wider centre gore, try stitching it together - the cup will turn up a little and become higher at the "centre edges".

My Freya Lyla/Eloise/Eleanor all had the same style of seams but the same fabric all over. They fit better when I narrowed the gores, and they never had the pointy weird shape. I didn't even realize this was a plunge when I bought it, because the gore was significantly higher than the Deco.

Interesting ...I find soft balconnettes perfect for soft and bottom-heavy breasts, I only wear Freya:)
