Bra fitting help » Minor sports bra issues- should I try again?
Freya Active » Underwired Sports Bra (4002) » 30H 30:11
Issue resolved
Sent the bra back and exchanged it for a different sports bra.
Original problem
I ordered the Freya Active Underwire Sports Bra in a 30H and it arrived today. At first I was pleasantly surprised because I could jump around without all the painful bouncing! But now I'm starting to notice a few problems.
First, it wrinkles a bit at the bottoms of the cups. It's not that I'm not filling them- the cups fit everywhere else. I looked at a bunch of pictures of the bra on other people, too (including the models) and it looks like the same thing is happening to everyone. Is this just a design flaw in the bra? It doesn't seem to effect support so I'm inclined to ignore it, but what do you think?
The bigger problem is that the underwire doesn't lie flat on the sternum. Is this normal for sports bras? It's not poking in or giving me quadraboob or sticking out awkwardly or anything- it just sort of rests between my breasts rather than on my chest.
It's also tiny bit snug in the band (which is weird for me because I'm closer to a 28 than a 30.) I figure it'll eventually stretch, though (and now that I have a sports bra, I'll lose weight!) so I'm not worried about that.
Overall, do you think the bra is worth keeping, or should I return it? I kept the tags on so it's still possible.
I've also tried the Shock Absorber bra and it was totally a failure- way too small in every regard. Does anyone have other recommendations for sports bras?

helpfulThe cup is waaaaaaaay too small. I'd try a J or JJ cup if it's made and if you wanna stay in a 30 band.
I have this bra and yes it's tight in the band; it's supposed to be. My ribcage is 28" and I don't find the 28 too tight at all. So again, if it's made I really think the best support from this bra would be a 28JJ or K cup.

Awe! Yeah I was afraid of that. It'd been a while since I had purchased mine and I couldn't recall.

I agree, a couple of cups up seems like a safe choice, just stay away from Royce sports bras they run *small* in the cup, about 2 sizes.

helpfulHey, I had this problem with this bra. Here is what I figured out: this bra is cut like a minimizer: the cups are wide and shallow. After you gather your boobs in toward the center, you need to shift them more toward the outsides, in the cup. This bra is built to distribute the mass of the breast across the chest and close to it, not to fit like a normal bra.
My boobs are close together, so the gore does not tack entirely. But once I moved my boobs a little sideways, the gore was very close to my chest, and it held my breasts in place.
What size do you normally wear? I am a 34GG and I ordered this bra in a 36G and it is a little tight across the top edge because I am full there, but otherwise a good fit.

Thanks a ton for your input! It was very helpful. I tried gathering my boobs to the side like you said, but the gore still didn't lie flat enough- plus, my boobs tend to migrate forward as I exercise.
I normally wear a 28HH or 30H, and I'd go up to a 30HH or J, but they don't have this model in that size. Sigh. I'm returning it and trying a new sports bra :)

Thanks for the help! I'm returning it and trying a new bra, since they don't have this line in anything larger than an H :(
