Issue resolved
Please elaborate
Original problem
Hi,
I keep going backwards and forwards with this one, so I'd like your help in deciding if this bra fits or not, please? I think it very, very nearly fits, but I'm not sure.
I'm sorry to have put "wrinkling in the top of the cup" as my fit issue, but it was closest to what I meant. Actually, the top is a nice, smooth line with no gaps at all. In fact, it might actually be almost a little too tight, verging on a slight 'quadraboob'effect if I breathe very deeply.
The issue is the wrinkling in the nipple area of the cups (it's a bit worse on my smaller right breast), and tending towards the rest of the cup sometimes as the bra moves (I tried to capture it at its absolute worst in the second front photo).
The rest of the bra seems to fit perfectly, but I'm not sure if the wrinkling is because I actuallu need a smaller cup size - although I don't think so - or because I really don't have much luck with plunge styles in general, or due to the fact that my natural shape is more rounded than the pointy shape that the bra pushes me into (the pointiness is much less obvious under clothes), or if it's just that there is no stretch in the netting of the cup?
The wrinkles are also not visible under clothes, so I don't know if I should even worry about it, but it's a brand new bra and I can send it back if I need to, and I do need a plunge bra! What do you think I should do?
Also, slightly unconnected but your advice is also much appreciated: this bra is very comfortable to wear, but I bought exactly the same bra in the same size in black, and the ends of the centre gore are REALLY digging into my sternum! Has anyone else noticed different fits in different colours, or is it likely to be a difference in construction? Will the material stretch with time or should I just give up on it straight away?
Thanks for your help!

helpfulIt seems to me like you have just ended up with the wrong shape. I'm a similar shape to you, and the Tango bras have always ended up looking a little odd on me. It looks like the back size is certainly correct, but the cup just isn't the right shape. You're overfilling it at the sides, and not filling it in the middle at all.
Freya and Curvy Kate both tend to run to a rounder, higher shape than Panache does.
The bra looks wearable, but not great, so whether you decide to hang on to it or swap it is up to you. If it's easy to swap though, I'd do it, as there's nothing worse than 'powering through' and having a nasty bra for the next 6-12 months.
Re: Black bras- the dyestuff in black, and other darker coloured bras tends to make them run a lot tighter than their lighter coloured counterparts. I know some women like to go up one back size (and hence down one cup size) when ordering a black bra.

I'm a little on the busty side for plunge bras- they don't tend to make them in the 28JJ and 28K that I wear. My sister who is also higher busted & round absolutely *loves* her Freya Deco bras, and probably wears them 2/3 days.
Me below seems to have a few suggestions there. I understand the frustration of sending bras back and forth all the time though & wanting to get the right fit. It's just so hit-and-miss ordering online.

helpfulI agree with Ereshly--the cups on this look too deep for you, and also too narrow. (And yes, black bras routinely run tighter in the band than their lighter counterparts).
The German forum Busenfreundinnen lists the following plunges as possibly suitable for shallow, broad breasts:
Ewa Michalak: PL
OnlyHer: Tabasco Plunge
Lepel/Audelle: Fiore Plunge
Samantha: Schnitt 335
Gossard Noir Allure
Pour Moi? Opulence Gel Bra
Calvin Klein Push-ups mit Coverage Level 1 und 2Also, while I know you'd prefer a plunge, it might be worth checking out a padded half-cup style, since by many accounts these work well for your breast type. Freya Deco Halfcup, Freya Daphne, Cleo Juna, etc.
I can't speak to this personally, since I have exactly the opposite shape (deep and narrow); however, since padded half cups tend to be a disaster on me, I'm thinking they might work well for you.

helpfulAs far as sending the bra back to bravissimo, Amazon.com actually carries quite a few bras from panache and freya, and it's MUCH easier to return them. That's what I've been doing instead of messing with overseas shipping =)

If you're on the European mainland (and in the European Union) try ordering through Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.de instead, in order to avoid additional customs duties.

helpfulThis bra can be odd. When I tried that bra on in blue the same thing happened...I agree with Ereshiy, perhaps you just ended up with the wrong shape. My friends who own this bra get frustrated because it stretches out after a while. Also, did you try pulling the straps up for the right breast?

helpfulI had the exact same issue with the Tango II Plunge... and I am still unable to fit in that bra, in any size. It is just the wrong shape for me, which seems to also be the case with you. On the bright side, the Tango II Balconette fits me (I haven't measured it or reviewed it yet). I know you need a plunge style, but if you like the style of the Tango bras, you may have better luck with the balconette.

helpfulI am shaped very similarly to you, and I'm finding myself with all the same issues. I loved my Tango II Balconnet, and I thought it was the perfect everyday bra when I first got it. Strangely, now I'm noticing wrinkles at the tips of the cups, and the cups are cutting me into quadraboobs. My only guess is that since my breast tissue is migrating back to where it belongs (after decades of being pushed into my pits), my breasts have become too wide to fit into the cups that once fit well. Honestly, I thought my cups had shrunk, but then I realized I'm having the exact same issue with my Panache Porcelain and my Freya Balconnets (boy am I glad I bought my bras on close-out!) I have a Freya "Sadie" that feels more constricting in the band than my other 28 band Freyas. After washing it I thought it would loosen up, but it actually got tighter. Thanks to this post, I suspect it's because it's black!
I've read that Freya bras are "wider" than Panache, but I have 3 Freyas (2 plunge and a balconnet) and I find them to be get too narrow at the tops, causing "points". However, the tops of the cups are a lot more "rounded" than the Tango, so they don't cut into my flesh. If I'm bending the top seams on the cups wrinkle a bit (esp.on my right side), but the very tops of the cups seem to mold themselves around my breasts, rather than cut into them (like the Panache cups do).
To me it looks like the Tango Plunge cups on your bra are too small for you. I say this after posting a very similar issue with my Panache Porcelain, and all the fit recommendations suggested I try larger cups. Are the underwires encircling all of you? (It's hard to tell from the picture). They appear to be cutting into your tissue at your breastbone, and on the sides it looks as though some tissue is being packed into your armpit.
I'm joining you in your quest for a Plunge with a center gore that doesn't slice or squish.

Thank you very much, Ereshly. I really appreciate your input, and especially because we seem to have had the same problem with this bra. :-)
Returning it is not so easy really as I'll have to send it back to Bravissimo from the European mainland, but if I'm having to return the black one as unwearable then this one might as well go along too (and it'll be the third time I'm sending bras back to them in the last month anyway).
So then the million dollar question is what plunge bra do I get instead? Have you had any luck with a specific plunge bra? I didn't with the Porcelain Plunge as it gaped open a lot when I moved although it fitted well if I just stood still. :-) I haven't tried a Freya Deco; should I? Or what about the Bravissimo Satine?
Sorry for the barrage of questions, it's just so frustrating to be sending bras back and forth all the time! :-)
