Issue resolved
It's clear to me a smaller band addresses the back-roll issue and that pinching the center gore solves the qb and outer-cup emptiness (making it a quasi-balconette). Thanks for your help!
Original problem
Would I eternally regret keeping the 32? This is the 32F on the tightest hook, worn lower (jeans shots), with the gore pinched. Does the cup look too small now? Should I try the 32FF?
I ordered 4 different bras, and this one was my favorite, though it wasn't quite right. I have pics of the others up too. This bra has a very typical problem for me: I can have quadboob even in cups that are clearly too big. I finally realized that my shoulders are pulling the straps out so that the top edge is cutting across. If I bring the straps toward the center, the fit improves tremendously but it is impossibly uncomfortable.
This bra also gave me back roll and as you can see from the "bird's eye" shot, a kind of funny profile. I'd prefer a more rounded look, but I'm trying to keep an open mind.
I'd welcome any thoughts about how you think this fits me and what I might try.
Huge Advance!! I've been doing a ton of reading, and I had the idea to try the bra on the tightest hook, but wear it lower. Back roll basically gone! I can raise and lower my arms without the bra riding up and down! But now I wonder if I should size down in the band. I also found that pinching the center gore eased the q-b. I just added 3 pics in jeans -- any thoughts?

helpfulI honestly don't see any rolls. There is a slight indent, but that's normal for any article of clothing. As long as it's comfortable, it's fine!
I'd suggest a 32FF. The cups definitely look too small to me. Pulling the straps toward the middle only relieves the quad boob because it lets your breast tissue escape from the sides of the cups.
But in case I'm missing something, what makes you think the cups are too large?

Thanks! The back roll gets worse after I raise and lower my arms a few times. When the straps are out where they're comfortable, the upper/outer quadrant is kind of empty. I actually didn't mean that this one is too big -- more that the quad boob (which is constant for me) is relieved when the straps don't have to angle out, and then the outer corner fits better too. I t's kind of hard to imagine that I could wear a 32FF in a panache bra, when the cup of the 32F Melody is so wrinkled and empty. I do wish the wings were deeper and at there were even three hooks ... I find that more comfortable. Do you think a balconette with wider-spaced straps would be better? So confusing ... I'm still recovering from the shock that I'm not a 36C, as I've thought since the Carter administration.

Oops, I don't know why that posted twice! The other thing I was going to mention is that if you take a bra that fits and move the straps out, can you create q-b and weird emptiness in the outer/upper corner?

Hmm... if the "rolls" get worse when you move around, the band might actually be too loose. (A too-loose bra can cause rolls, too.) If you can, try it on the tightest hook and see if it stops re-adjusting itself when you move.
This style might actually be good for you.. but you could try a balconette bra like the Cleo Lucy (in a 32FF or 30G). If you like moulded-cup bras, I'd recommend trying the Parfait Casey in a 32 band (it runs slightly tighter than Panache bras), since it has a really comfortable, smoothing 3-hook band.

So helpful, qlyla! I never would have believed that a 32 could be too big!! If I can pull the band out as much as you see above, on the tightest hook, I should size down, don't you think?
-
I also need a smaller band size than my ribcage measurement. When my ribcage was 31.5 inches, a 30 fit best. Now my ribcage is 29 inches and some 28s are too loose! Given how far you can pull the band on the tightest hook, I'd recommend trying a 30G (and a 30 band in the Parfait Casey, rather than the 32 that I suggested earlier).

I agree with everything you said.
